whew,,that doesnt look good.... in your documents and settings\xxxxxx\application data(appdata in vista)\microsoft\cfsww1 off folder (where xxxxx can either be administrator or your user name) there is a viewui.xml. it does contain some data for the tac. colors for sure, there is also a master copy of viewui.xml there. I would try to move your viewui.xml out,,,and make a copy of the master, and rename it. there also a place to edit the size of the tac, but i forget where that file is...hopefully someone will post the info. The tac is always a circle..you can make it smaller,,,but you cant make it a square..so,,something went screwy in your game,, if you bring up your hud,,are you guages ok?

These are 2 "generic" spawns. As the Player Formation approaches an airfield, it will cause a flight of 5 enemy aircraft to take off, seek and engage. One for allied, and one for axis. Included is a readme which hopefully will make putting a takeoff spawn into your missions easy, and also explains how to modify the files to spawn whatever aircraft you want. download file, and extract into a new folder. the spawn and xml files in the root of the folder go into your cfsww1 over flanders fields\spawns folder. the mission files inside the Mission folder can go into either your historical or training missions folders. As long as the spawn files are installed properly, the 2 test missons should work. Use and distribute freely. No credits required. To add a bit more realism to missions, these spawn files cause enemy aircraft to take off and attempt to engage when intruding formations approach their airfield. Takeoffspawns.rar can be found in the missions section of the off download page.

just outta curisity, wondered what would happen if you put a skin made for one type plane on another type plane. this is axes bluemax dri on a albdii check out the engine or reddogs dr1 on an albatross

just gueseing from other posts, but you might want to check out your resoultion in your cfs3config...and have it set as high as possible. ive seen posts where having set too low (800x600) causes the game to crash, but never seen it shut down the computer. -
interesting about the -window mode.. tried it, (on cfs3mp.exe) and started the game from the shortcut, and got a windowed game. But, started up off, went to mp (which invokes cfs3mp.exe, not cfs3.exe) and got the non windowed game...... but still..could always start from the shortcut. not sure what the pratical applications of the game and ustream might be. makes sense its more fun to play the game rathter than watch someone play, but am still interested in learning more about it. If you have any quick start pointers for ustream would appreciate knowing them. already signed up for an account,,( i assume this is free,,,,lol)

With all respects to the commander, that must have been the other sitting duck that returned. This duck got toasted quite quickly once the melle broke out.

Ive asked the DiD group if someone will save their missions, so we can fly them in campaign. This is not meant to compete with sunday, just looking for something maybe to get us flying during the week. (of which there is very little). Assuming someone agrees to save the missions, will then need ppl to convert, and host. I am getting into my busy season, (stupid holidays), and can assist, but can not commit to anything.

Would greatly appreciate it if one of you would save your missions after you fly them, so as to give the mp community an oppertunity to fly them with you. after you fly your mission, it is saved to your missions\historical folder as OFF_Camp_mission.xml. Keep in mind, this file is written over when you start a new mission, so it has to be renamed every time so as to save it. Suggest a file id that indicats date and time of the mission flown. Not sure if we would need a mission from axis and allied, but if we could get one from both probably would be good. -
engine off at start of mission

tried to duplicate you results..(well at least with the second one). the first one only has one plane,,,so the only way the engine will stop,,is if the player stops it...less im missing something.. the second one,,,tried everything,,if i took off,,they took off,,it i moved a little and stopped,,they moved a little,,,but eventually one of them would take off,,,, In vascos missions,,(or for any other mission with a squad and a ground start) the only planes you see without the engines running are planes that have players.....all the ai planes will be running at the start. If there is a squad and no player has taken the flight commander,,it will take off when ever it wants. If there is a flight commnader,,,they will wait for them to start the engine,,and will roll when he roll... just curious,,,lets say you get one to stop the engine,,,,how you gonna get them to start it???? -

lol...carrick,,,it HAS to work...... if you hit cntrol and printscreen at the same time,,,it copies what you have on the screen to the clipboard... then find paint (its in your start>programs>accessories,,,),,,and open it up.. when you have paint open,,,go to edit (at the top),,,and select paste.... you should have whatever it is you where viewing when you hit cntrl printscreen....

Run a small "bakery"....but dont bake anymore...all i make is the cookie dough,,and sell it wholesale and retail...one man operation Its the Original Toll house ..my dad used to own the Toll House Restaurant (where the Toll House Cookie was invented)... This is where the gaming computer is,,,and aside from my trackir,,joystick and othere essentials...a common setup is a 35 pail of peanut butter on my left,,30lbs of raisons on my right,,,and depending on my mood,,,a case of eithe white chocolate chips,,,butterscotch chips,,,chunky chocolate chips,,,or the run of the mill chocolate morsals... so if im muffled on teamspeak,,its probably cause i got my mouth full... -
Hi, dont think there is a solution to getting the game to run in windows mode. as a result of players not being able to jump out of the game with alt-tab, (ie..forget to start trackir..or something else)...its been looked into before, and no one has come up with a solution. but,,if you ever do get ustream and this game squared away, be sure to post it, cause that sounds like a great idea!!

air formation spawning problem

i have never had to do those things that you did to get spawns to work..... but,,the only dice roll i ever use (other then the ones in the "around facility" or "around playere") is 1d1 for a formation spawn....everytime ive tried 1d3 and put in 3 flights,,the only thing that ever comes up is the first flight...lol
