  1. Wonderfully made video, Catch ! I have yet to try the Ford Model T - that intro with the train and car arrival was a very nice idea, and the choice of music makes it a joy to watch. If only we had those Gothas in there already - would make me fly Entete side much more!
  2. Great demo! I got the impression, that a rear gunner could hardly hit an agile fighter in a real attack - all that jerking and commotion. Even in such a short scene, a Fokker Triplane gave me nasty feeling, if I was the observer.
  3. Picture looks great - so where's the mission?
  4. Me too - here is one with skis from Russia.
  5. Yeah, I know what you feel, Barkhorn - it's like being up there, isn't it? And now let's go back to our crates! ...
  6. Yes, I've seen that on TV too. Here, the ravens and crows have learnt, that the humans keep throwing half eaten food into the orange garbage bins attached to lamp posts. They now regularly come to inspect them, throwing all the litter on the pavement. When they find nuts, they drop them from high altitude, so they crack. And when you watch the way they look at things of interest, or at you, everone MUST feel, that they are pretty clever. Now there surely is a lot of video stuff on magpies and raven birds, but here is a last one that I found very touching: a raven, caring for a kitten.
  7. A fine memorial, Jammer - helped a Kraut to learn more about Mick Mannock. Fine cut with the music again.
  8. Yeah, Alsace is different - not only the trees - all the mushrooms, groundhogs, squirrels etc. In Alsace I go to Scenery detail 3, and even reduce density in Workshop.
  9. Creeping under the skin! Great, Mike!
  10. Good you're back in the skies, Lou. What graphic crad do you run? I have an ATI RADEON 4870, and I'm running settings at 5,4,3,5,5 - did you push them up and try higher ? Clouds are no problem on 5, as far as I found - Terrain and Scenery detail are the killers.
  11. Hey, Lou, nice to see you again. Yeah, just rectangular lines parallel to the fuselage may work, but it wouldn't be the same. I'll give it a try though.
  12. Made a second version of the Tripe, adding Navy blue. Unfortunately, the skin is getting pretty much distorted on the wings. So my stripes, which were neatly straight, have become of various width. Last picture shows, how eager the men of A-flight were: they first shot right through my aircraft, when I followed a D III, which I had already hit - it was obviously MY prey! Then they even flew into my kite! Crash - unconrtollable - pilot dead! I must say, that I have never seen such misbehaviour and bad conduct on the German side. Tch! Crumpets!!
  13. Wow, it doesn't show any fear even from such a strange noisy bird. Saw a similar vid, but in this one you can really see the bird quite well. Found a video from a guy in Queensland - your Australian magpies really look different to our European ones - closer to ravens, it seems. I once watched a young raven, that seemed to have sailed from the nest too early. It was so thirsty, that it tried to get a drop of Coke from a can someone had dropped. There was really some Coke left in it, which he could see, but not reach through the tiny hole. I talked to him and went closer slowly. All the time, he watched me, really looked into my eyes, but did not run away. I slowly picked up the can and led it over his beak. And he really lifted his head, opened his beak and let the Coke run down his throat. (I hope he could digest it!) Then I saw the mother or father overhead, circling over the road and the yard of the opposite house. So I grabbed the youngster (which he got very upset about), carried him over and put him on the branch of a big chestnut tree. Hope he survived. It was a wonderful experience! Edit: Here's another vid, showing: they don't seem to know fear ...and they can recognise themselves in a mirror !
  14. Thanks, all! Now what is it, Rickitycrate? Perhaps it can be done?
  15. Don't think I'm silly, but I saw your name in the last thread at the bottom; and as you're so rare to be seen here, I want to gtreet you. I always wonder, if you will be able for P4, to make the AI fight even better than it already does. Great job so far, Rex!
  16. What does that mean, Von Paulus: dual boot?
  17. Hey, what a coincidence, Widow! A friend gave me a CD of Hawkwind's "Warriors on the edge of time" only yesterday! Sadly, I missed them in their time - never heard any other song but "Silver Machine". But now I'll see what this one sounds like.
  18. It has, indeed! But write him as in English: Simon. I wish him much success!
  19. Clouds don't seem to make much problems - Terrain detail and Scenery detail do. I didn't feel a noticable difference of fraps with clouds on 5. But they look wonderful on 5 !
  20. Well, Morris is flying in South Africa, so he is always fying headover. Now it may be so, that, when he crashes, he is falling UPWARDS against the soil, which would make his crashes feel rather like a soft slap in the face ?
  21. It was a very tiny collision - I would have estimated I had passed him without touch, but I must have hit him a little bit. My other collisions were, as you said, mostly fatal.
  22. Trek, what aircraft do you fly mostly? I have not noticed a more difficult flying model for my Albatros. Before the latest patches, I lost the lower wings sometimes, and crashed fatally. But now, after "Hat in the Ring", I lost only the wingtip - maybe just luck; not sure. I do not think, that the player's flight model was changed to more difficulty. But maybe you would have to set up "Workshop" settings to your likes again?
  24. Here is my latest skinning attempt - a Triplane painted with silver bronze called "Silver Bird". I will make it available soon. Had a go with some Jasta 6 boys - it was hard firing at "my" Staffel; but I brought down two. The Triplane can just outrun and outturn them with no effort. A hell of a plane. I find it tempting to go VERY close, cause you can pull away with a quick reaction of the Tripe. But then I hit one Albatros in a steep vertical climb, when the response was rather low.
  25. Yes, as far as I remember, the Superpatch and the following one were the ones to make the AI as dangerous as it can be now. But you have a choice again in the new "Hat in the Ring" add-on. There in "Workshop" you can choose between "aggressive" and "less aggressive" AI. The "less aggressive" AI is flying very much to their own safety, but not totally passive. They use their advantages that way, that a SPAD for example climbs out of a fight and circles high, until it sees a very good chance for an attack. The fights end after some time with maybe none or only two, three aircraft down. If you want it less aggressive, this would be your choice (if you have "Hat in the Ring").
