It was the first of the Harrier Jump Jet series of aircraft and was developed in the 1960s as the first operational ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft with vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) capabilities and the only truly successful V/STOL design of that era. The Harrier was developed directly from the Hawker Siddeley Kestrel prototype aircraft, following the cancellation of a more advanced supersonic aircraft, the Hawker Siddeley P.1154. 13. View File Canadair CL-13 Sabre F.Mk.5 On 30 July 1953, the first Sabre Mk.5 flew with the Orenda 10 engine, which gave it a clear rate of climb and ceiling advantage over earlier variants. Other Mk 5 improvements included a new oxygen system and improved maneuverability and low-speed characteristics achieved by increasing the wing chord by six in (15.2 cm) at the root and three in. (7.2 cm) at the wing tip along with fitting a small vertical wing fence. This modification, originated by North American on the F-86F, dramatically improved maneuverability, though the loss of the slatted leading edge increased landing speed and degraded low speed handling considerably. Canadair built 370 Mk 5s with the majority designated for use in the RCAF's Air Division squadrons in Europe to replace the Mk.2s. A total of 75 RCAF Sabre 5s were transferred to the German Luftwaffe during 1957. 15. Hi Kev, This is a Serial list I made for first Veltro2K TF-102 Glad to help, if you wish, with decals making TF-102.txt
  16. As You'ld know, I like to have (paint) every squadron for each plane I can and maybe every serial number too ... an encyclopedic obsession? I don't know. Anyway no screwing up, because in each particular skin folder'ld keep different and special ones, but where there is only a nose or a tail different, only that texture should be needed in particular skin folder and the base ones are in main folder root, saving a lot of space. But this trick works only in some SF models and I don't know why. I can't wait for your FAW.2 and for ALL your great models.
  17. You're right ... as only the tails (squadron badge & CV letter) and sometimes the nose (black or grey) change if we could put the other common textures in main plane root folder, we could save A LOT of space. But this trick doesn't work with this model as in many others, because - I think - something is to set in model LOD, I'm not able to set by myself. If someone'ld do or explain, I'll be glad to build a light skinpack Meanwhile, as I have a prairie in my many tera HD, I'll enjoy this fantastic plane (have you seen the rocket trails?) using this very heavy skins pack!
