  1. Is there any alternative to 3DS Max 2009 in which the LOD exporter plug-in works properly?
  2. At least there is a way to substitute the Moon with the image of another planet, which I assume is what Menrva did in the Moon map. Maybe if you draw two planets on the same image you could do the same.
  3. Ohhh so cool I once modelled a super basic version of a generic Empire AA turret if you want to add it to them I can try look for it in my dusty archive xD
  4. As for me I have been thinking for a long time in the fictional ADFX-01 Morgan, not only because it was my first trial of 3D modding twelve years ago, but also because I want a plane to install an automated laser turret onboard. Too bad I don't have time right now

Orion Multipurpose Crew Vehicle and variants: _________________________________________ Hi there Combatace community! As you may already know, this Monday (with some luck) the mission ARTEMIS one is going to lift-off setting the path for future manned missions to the Moon, something that as engineer and space nerd I am very excited about. To celebrate this milestone and since I am finding myself without time to continue 3D modelling space gear for the Moon mods, I have decided to upload my UNFINISHED models so you can enjoy them! That includes: - Aircrafts (or should I say spacecrafts) Orion MPCV: Your normal Orion Multipurpose Crew Vehicle, with some "landing gear" I was trying to design because my experiments with vertical take-off were to this point very unsuccessful... but appart from that and two floating invisible pilons for IR missiles, it should look like the Orion that will take off in a few days! Orion MPCV-ICPS: That is a bigger Orion which includes a variation of the "Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage", which in reality is the upper stage of the SLS that will insert the spacecraft into a translunar orbit from Earth. I modelled it here as a longer range Orion since the ICPS module are substantially two giant propellant tanks (big one LH2 and smaller one LOX). Also I have equipped it with four rocket engines which will help compensating the much heavier fuel tanks (I tried to tweak the engines parameters to make it look a little bit more like a rocket engine instead of an airbreathing one, so fuel consumption has become super high hahaha) F-40A Apollo Starfighter: The beginning of the Spacefighters mod, a modified Orion MPCV-ICPS in which the main body of the ICPS module has been modified to carry weaponry becoming a propulsion and warmodule. It includes to arms with a pair of space adapted cannons and pylons for eight SIM-9A the first vacuum rated version of the AIM-9 with reactive thrust control for maneuvering. This is definetely not how I want it to look like but newer models are on the long To Do List. - AAA test beds: In order to become a full Space warfare mod, ground objects have to be implemented, unfortunately appart from static turrets and modified rovers sketches I have not been able to make 3D models, that is why I borrowed randomly GKABS M163 PIVADS models in order to have AAA with good targeting for the following systems: Laser AAA: In space, one of the biggest challenges is thermal control of the spacecraft, and since there is no atmosphere to dissipate beams, a laser could potentially become an enemy for sneaky spacecrafts that ventures into restricted territory. That is why a small low power version of Laser AAA is intended to be used in the early stages of the mods conflict. Railgun: An electromagnetically accelerated projectile, with low fire rate but high velocities. It would have sense in the moment in which bigger and armoured spacecrafts appears in later stages of the conflict. - Weapons: 23mm MG-2040 Lunar Cannon 20mm M168 Lunar Vulcan 100KW XN1 Laser Weapon System (quick fact eventhough "small" 100kW is freaking difficult to generate on the Moon) 105mm Lunar Rail Gun SIM-9A Spacewinder - So what to expect from this release? As you will see, it lacks a lot of things we take for granted in this game: ground assets, targets to strike, actual Air-to-Ground and viceversa weaponry, spacecrafts from other nations. But as we all know, time is sometimes really hard to invest in these projects and real life easily takes over it. So at least you can have some dogfights between Orions and experiment this new environment. I personally enjoyed a lot the process of doing them and thinking how a Spacefighter mod would look like after seeing that a Moon map is actually possible (thank you Menrva!). So I hope you enjoy this despite of the clearly unfinished models and textures! - CREDITS TO: Menrva: For the amazing map in which all of this can be developed and for the nations creation with their logos and the skins for them in the Orion. ravenclaw_007: For the incredibly detailed AIM-9 model from which I based my own space version model. GKABS: For the M163 that I included for testing the different AAA systems. Combatace community: In general, for the support, suggestions, advice and the material that I have used but I am not able to track the creator. DISCLAIMER: As always this is a FREEWARE, the use of this content for commertial purposes is strictly FORBIDDEN. Ohhh and before I forget it, THERE ARE NO LANDING GEARS! hahahha All being said, kind regards. Nuni

Thank you very much, I would lie if I say I haven't modelled Death Star's turret to defend Paran's skies hahahaha

  8. Thank you! You are right! there cannot be a space mod without a chinese counterpart! Actually I made a little list of spacecraft concepts from different countries that could work, including a proposal of Orion counterpart made by the Russian Federation called Orel. And also it would be cool to include unmanned spaceplanes as combat drones like the famous X-37, the CSSHQ (its chinese counterpart) and the european Space Rider.

**** Tactical Laser System Pod (TLS) **** _______________________________________________________________________ This mod contains the Tactical Laser System from Ace Combat franchise. You will be able to fly with a powerful laser beam generator, that can tear a carrier up, blow up half of an airbase, or split in two bombers from 10+ km of distance. The pack includes three versions of the TLS pod: - TLS-01: A generic POD available to all countries - TLS-01_F-15: Specific for F-15E - TLS-01_Su-37: Specific for Su-37 (The exact F-15E and Su-37 are detailed below, they must be downloaded) _______________________________________________________________________ *Installment: Drop the content into your mod folder (C:\Users\[User Name]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[ModFolder]) as usual, taking into account a couple of things: 1. There are two aircraft (F-15_14 and Su-37 Terminator), both folders only contains two modified INIs. One is the DATA.INI from each aircraft and the other is for LOADOUT. Both aircraft are the ones having its own dedicated TLS Pod in Ace Combat 7, thus I picked both of these aircrafts from the excelent Add-on mods that we have here. In case you don't have them, you can download them from these links, install them and then copy the modified INIs which includes the laser pod and loadout (AirToAirLaser). The links to download them are: F-15_14: https://combatace.com/files/file/16161-sf2-f-15-strike-eagle-super-pack-redux-2018/ Su-37 Terminator: https://combatace.com/files/file/15049-su-37-flanker-f/ 2. Once you install the Red Laser Gun and copied some lines into the BulletObject.INI there is a chance that the laser wont appear while you are firing it. In order to solve this you should copy these lines in the R-TLS_Data (inside Guns folder) [RedLaserEffects] TracerEmitterName=RedLaserBeam GroundHitEffectName=20mmGroundHitEffect GroundHitSoundName=DirtHit WaterHitEffectName=CannonWaterHitEffect WaterHitSoundName= ObjectHitEffectName=20mmObjectHitEffect ObjectHitSoundName=Impact3 ArmorHitEffectName=20mmObjectHitEffect ArmorHitSoundName=Impact3 AirBurstEffectName=FlakEffect AirBurstSoundName=FLAK3 Then it should work fine. ________________________________________________________________________ TO SOUNDLIST SoundFileXXX=TLS //---------------------------------------- [TLS] Priority=HIGH Looped=TRUE NumBuffers=2 3DSound=TRUE DopplerEffect=FALSE MaxDist=3000.000000 MinDist=100.000000 InsideConeAngle=360 OutsideConeAngle=360 ConeOutsideVolume=100 ________________________________________________________________________ KNOWN ISSUES 1. The generic pod may not be visible during the loadout screen, this may happen because the measures of the pod exceeds the limits from the Gun Pod station of the aircraft. It can be fixed by adjusting the length/diameter/weight limit in the weapon station of the aircraft. Measures of the Pod (estimated from images of the AC7 pod and the real measures of a SUU-23 Gun Pod): Mass: 1406.7 kg Length: 7.312 m Diameter: 0.92 m (moreless) 2. Also, I have not managed to fly with the full loadout of the Su-37, in my case It only loads the laser pod and the rest of the pylons are empty (I have to select the weapons manually), I guess this may be a problem of my installation, if anybody has this problem tell me. ________________________________________________________________________ Special thanks to: F-15: viper63a Su-37: denissoliveira Effects from which I developed the laser beam effects, I took them from Stary Unified Effects Pack. And everyone who contribute in these projects, which are truly masterpieces. ________________________________________________________________________ And as always, this is a FREEWARE, any distribution under payment of these files are strictly forbidden. Finally! If there is any problem or you want to give me your feedback I will love to hear it, I hope it works well and enjoy! Nuni
  10. I am afraid that the maximum number of components are 32, I actually have the same problem when trying to identify every turret of the battlecruiser as a single component, but along the rest of the components already in use it got to work just up to the 32nd one. I don't know how this could be overcome, maybe using bigger wing vortex effects allows you to need less components.
  11. Merry Christmass people, In about an hour the James Webb Telescope will be launched into deep space from French Guiana! This launch is definetely a big deal in terms of space exploration
  12. Also think that the flow of hot air coming out of a reactor engine is for sure much greater than the one in a piston engine. Think that the F-18 engine, the General Electric F414 expels 77,1 kg/s of hot air which means a long trail of hot gas behind the plane specially if AB are used, I guess that could also give more precision to IR missiles when chasing reactors.
  13. What kind of magic is this and how can I get my hands on it???
  14. Well little by little we are moving further to develop spurt bombs an other advanced weaponry! By now we can greet the Orion's bigger brothers, the extended range Orion and the "Apollo-class starfighter"
