What aircraft/ gunsight are you doing? Not the experimental Australian Navy A-4G air-to-air sight (by Ferranti) by any chance? -
Gunsight vs. HUD

You could use a keyboard letter assigned to the separate 'guns or rockets selected function' eg the + key. The location is defined by co-ordinates like the location of the airspeed number etc. I did something similar for the GR.3 revisionary sight for the Falklands campaign. The sight was basically a big lowercase 't' with the horizontal line changing position depending on guns, bombs or rockets being selected. For this I had a vertical line that came up in air to ground mode and the horizontal lines are made up of multiple underscore lines together: ____ called up by the bomb/guns/rockets selected text with the position moved by the diffrent coordinates for each type of weapon. My understanding is they do but only ever utilize the fuselage check stations. It's thier self defence option but the ability/ clearance to carry AIM-120 is the same as the E/F. Put it this way; the RAAF haven't done any additional clearance programs for AIM-120 carriage like with the AIM-9 or ATFLIR so it must be an original off the shelf capability. Just one the USN don't utilize which makes sense as they have the resources to provide Growlers with in depth protection where as the RAAF require the Growlers to self escort in some situations with thier more limited fighter fleets. So we see this capability exercised more often and enhanced with the AIM-9X.

AN/ALE-40 dispenser
dtmdragon replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Do you have a pre 1979 manual that references the dispensers but not the cockpit control panels for them? Of not then surly this is just a situation of the flight manual being behind the changes? And if you do are the cockpit changes possible a (classified?) supplement to the manual that you simply haven't seen? Hard to imagine the dispensers being present without any cockpit controls... -

I think this is the likely explanation given my own experience deving into TO manuals and TO changes -

View File TW EE Lightning (All) Gunsight corrections After michaelk's F.1 Cockpit Tweak uploaded recently I realised I never released my TW EE Lightning Gunsight corrections from 2020! So here you are: So after reading the pilots notes for the F.1, F.2A and F.6 and looking at gunsight camera pictures it turns out the gun sights and event markers are all based off the Lightning F.53 So here they are corrected: - F.1, F.1A, F.2, F.2A fitted with "Pilot Attack Sight" - F.3 fitted with "Light Fighter Sight Type 2 Mk. 2" - F.6 fitted with "Light Fighter Sight Type 2 Mk. 3" To Install simply un-pack and drop into the 'objects' folder in your main mods folder. You sure need to keep the Scooters speed up and avoid a slow turning fight! I think so although my (limited) understanding of the campaign engine is victory is related to ground units moving onto strategic nodes? That being said given if you do achieve air supremacy with the destruction on the enemy squadrons in just a few missions then technically you have achieved victory. And maybe had VA-34 actively engaged Cuban aircraft in real life that would have been the outcome.... VA-34 were on the USS Essex at the time to prove the concept of the A-4 as a fighter/ interceptor on small ASW Carriers so one assumes air-to-air combat in the scooter was the focus of the Squadron at the time.

Nice, I wanted to find a suitable British style cockpit from a twin engined jet to have the right amount of engine gauges etc. The ring and dot gunsight reticle is from a picture of a functioning Mk 3 bomber turret gunsight. The Interdictor Canberras used the Mk 3 N turret/ pilot (medium bomber) reflector gunsight. At some point it was modified for the Canberra to be "adjustable to aim rockets".

Gloster Javelin FAW9 cockpit by Sundowner and Veltro2k with a few changes to create a more suitable (IMHO) cockpit for the Interdictor variants of the Canberra. B(I).8 and B(I).12 etc
