So for a while I couldn't play any really high end simulators with my old system. As I live out in the freaking sticks with ole AT&T being my internet provider ... let's say it took about 11 hours for DCS world to download. Which isn't bad because it took me Two Days to Download the patch for Fallout 4. Yeah it sucks living where I live .. when it comes to technology. I get some awesome Wild Discovery action though (er for all you yung uns out there that's a really old show where you'd see animals eat other animals) seriously I looked out my window and saw a Red Tailed Hawk swoop just a few away from it and snag some kind of small rodent. Very exciting. A coyote was in back yard one day after it rained really hard. Pretty animal scary as hell that it came that far into city limits. But still very pretty. I digress. I get DCS world and happily installed my copy (thanks to a competition here on CombatACE) of Flaming Cliffs 3. Yep. I was really happy to be in an A-10. Trying things out. Flying around. Yeah I broke the cardinal rule of not reading the manual or doing the training missions. Picture a pot belly feller about 30 years of age walking towards one the most deadly ground support aircraft. The sun is rising behind him as his eyes sparkle at the beauty before him. He's handed a manual. He takes a look at it. "Nah I did this before" he says and tosses the very large manual over his shoulder. It plops on the ramp behind him. Another person approaches him. This person is well fit and wearing the typical aviator glasses. "Here I'll give you some free lessons." The pot belly feller shakes his head "Nah I got this." The battle is set. Friendly forces are being penned down by a major enemy force. Pot belly one grins to himself as he pictures the hell he's about to unless upon the enemy. That's when it hits him. This ain't SF2. Yeah, yeah there sure a lot of buttons here to push ... um let's try this one ... nope how bout this one? nope, Oh this one? Windshield whippers activate... You know what? Screw all these bombs and stuff I'll shoot these punks. Some of the enemy forces were critically wounded from laughter. The rest was classified. I mean that's standard when someone gets shot down in 40 seconds ... right?

sheesh... no wonder why the Navy has a high turnover rate and a problem keeping people beyond their 4 year commitment.

First of all ... as person that made a handful of crappy mods I can appreciate the time, dedication, talent, and skill it took to get to this stage. That's awesome. And for reason this reminds me of the old Chuck Yeager sim. I know you're not going for that look. Your video brought back good memories and lifts my spirits that flight simulation isn't dying off. This is so exciting to see this! I love seeing how games are made. This is awesome! I can't wait to see what you'll come up with.

Here's their question: Here's my question: What kind of questions are snipers asked by medic in the field, or shrink, when they're being evaluated? I ask this because my High School History served in Vietnam. He mentioned having to do this as a medic. I'm sure things have changed since then. However I'm still curious to know what some of those questions might be. Anyway. Thank you for your time.

The Cyberpower PC Gamer Ultra. For several reasons. 1. The other shippers just gave me a general week I could expect delivery. I didn't like that part at all. I didn't want to be at work and risk someone stealing my new computer. Neighbors work just as much as I do. 2. I was thinking about the next 10 or so years down the road I wanted to be able to get system that i know will hang in there for a while. (true all things are outdated in a year but my last rig is still kicking so I'm hoping this will do the same) 3. Income tax check wasn't as bad as I thought it was so I was able to spend a little extra. I still spent more than I wanted to however some adjustments to my plans were made so in the end everything worked out fine as far as budget went. I was wanting to get another piece of furniture for my office. In the end it wouldn't have been a good fit. So not having to buy that piece of furniture opened up a little more wiggle room. 4. I'm really looking to beef up my video production. So the less time I have to spend for the system to process a video the better. I've been looking at various programs that help with video production too. 5. Going along with video production. I'd like to be able to do smooth screen capturing for review purposes if needed in the future. 6. The system I wound up buying from Amazon was about $400 less than a similar system (made by the same manufacturer) being sold on another website.

My new system came and so far it works very well! Aside from Windows 10 and a loud CPU fan I'm getting used to it. And the lights are my favorite color too.

This should go up on the CombatACE refrigerator ... if we had one.

For almost a week I was not able to access CombatACE. One day everything was fine and the next day I was receiving an error message saying the server couldn't be contacted. Well maybe it's an upgrade gong on I'll check later. I checked later. Same thing. Well maybe I'll check tomorrow .. must be some kind of big issue. I checked the next day. Still nothing. Off and on for several days I checked and for days there was nothing. Well have you ever have the power go out all of a sudden and you try to find a bunch of things to do ... only to realize that you can't do them because the power is out. Same thing really (to me). No CombatACE was really messing with me. I tried accessing CA from two different computers and browsers. I did everything I knew to do solve the problem. Nothing worked. Then logic started to set in. Erik has died and CombatACE went with him. Oh my God Erik died! Something drastic must have happened! 30 ISIS people must have raided his house and forced him to pull out his Rambo guns and Jackie Chan Kung Fu moves. He must've taken at least 29 of them out but his gun jammed and his back went out the moment he needed both of them the most. Na. So what actually happened is still a mystery. Erik solved it. And I'm glad to be back.

Man we should do something called CombatACE TV. I'd watch things like this all the time.

Found out its an AMD thing

Hey thanks you two. I just cracked my case open and gave it a better listen this morning. It is actually my CPU fan making all the noise. But still the speedfan program I'm using isn't much help... maybe because its me. But I now know it's my CPU fan running hard. The other fans are big and quiet. The tower on this thing is incredible too because there is NO WAY this computer WILL NOT get enough ventilation. The only other gripe I have about my new system. Is the OS. Windows 10. I mean. This is a PC not a damn cellphone. I don't want every Tom Dick and Harry to know what I'm doing on it.

Hello, Well my new computer came today that I ordered. And it is just wonderful. Except for the fans the case fan. I'm wondering if there is a software that will allow me to toggle the speed of it without me having to go through BIOS all the time. Just tried speed fan and that's didn't work. I think it may be connected directly to the power supply and if that's the case then oh well.

Hey, I really appreciate all the input everyone has been providing. This isn't a decision I'm taking lightly either. I'm also thinking about certain titles as well as the future. As in the next 10-15 years. I'm a believer in making a decision today for a greater tomorrow instead of making a great decision for today and having a horrible tomorrow. For instance It took 30 minutes last night to wrap up a project. That's just one half. All this Star Wars talks reminds of working at a movie store many a years ago. A woman comes in and was going to watch Star Wars for the first time. I looked at her selection and noted that she was watching them out of order. She looked at me confused "But I have episode 1,2, and 3," she said. I nodded my head "You sure do. But those are the prequels. You need to start with 4,5 and 6. I suppose you could watch them all 1-6 if you wanted to, but you'd be in for a nasty surprise CGI wise when you hit the last 3. And you may loose out on some of the bigger surprises as well."
