Hey did you look into whether or not your they have files preventing things from working (like in Mech Commander 2?) DUDE this came is so fun. I had no idea! I'm loving this game! I just strapped an artillery piece to a Mech ... this game allows me to be me ...

This game is awesome ...

I'd like some things you mentioned as well. Some out of cockpit experiences such as basic training and flight school (RPG elements for character creation) a story in the skies and on the ground. What happens on the ground affects what happens in the skies and visa versa. For example ... on the ground your wingman is going through some stuff. You can either help him out or ignore him. Ignoring him then well your wingman will have a personal matter ... say divorce on their mind instead of the mission. Or what happens during the mission may cause some problems for you on the ground. As in "What the hell were you thinking!" and getting in a fight, maybe getting injured from the fight. Jet Fighter 3 kind of had some out of cockpit things going on. You get emails from a "friend", you had quarters you could mess with, Star Lancer was like that too afer the mission you had an "email" as a de-breifing and if something major happened you could hear about it on the news. I'd also like to some things that honor those quirky programs that never ... took flight. They existed, they were being developed ... but just never left the experimental stages. Like the Star Wars program for instance. Using a Space Shuttle to destroy certain bases, and bunkers. Could you imagine launching to space and destroying targets with a space shuttle? No AAA right?

Well I downloaded it. Clicked on it nothing happened. .. It was not virus though ... I did however find another source to download the game and am working on that now. At any rate I still thank you because had it not been for your post I would not have guessed it was up for grabs. Thank you so much and I hope I get to see this game in action. True. People are too narrow minded these days ... too narrow minded. They say they're open minded ... they think they are ... but after looking at the news feeds for this morning. I don't see a society that's open minded enough to think on that level. But if they wanted to attack and destroy this civilization ... Sun Tzu himself couldn't find a better opportunity. Everyone is fighting everyone over everything ... who will notice the flleet shwoing up? Putting my invading alien cap on: Honestly with this society I think I can take this planet with one bullet. Or maybe not depends on how I feel about the last remaining human.

Just curious does everything have to be cleared before it can be shared? I'm just interested is all I understand no one wants to leak intelligence but my thinking is ... well. Science likes to think it's because of liquid water. Putting my alien cap on... I couldn't think of any good reason why I'd want to visit this place. Other than to observe how not to be a society and to learn that even among the most backward of civilizations there are beautiful things they do. I think I would be more interested in the wildlife, the way the society employs its resources (and by society I mean all hoomons as a whole). I'd keep my distance and use drones though (bacteria kill quicker than bullets). I'd study the arts, buildings, monuments. I'd observe the terrain of the planet, rivers, and caves. I wouldn't be impressed too much with the society though. Though it would be interesting to see how they live their lives, maybe some things they do could be useful but then maybe not. Sometimes though in some sci fi stories I write... I just have aliens ignoring us. We're the stupid backward people that couldn't hold an intelligent conversation. Why make contact with humans, they can't even tolerate themselves so how would they tolerate me? If I were to communicate and say something wrong and they found offensive they wouldn't be patient to correct me, they would just attack me and call me homophobic, or transphobic, or whateverphobic. They wouldn't take the time to understand what I'm trying to say. They jump to conclusions and make accusations and take action on those accusations without evidence or forethought.

Yep 53 minutes they recieved all the funding they needed for the first. I've tried to get an interview with them but ... oh well. In they're case I'll let it slide I mean for cyring out loud they're making a mech game.

What blew my mind is how many people still love Battlmech. I REFUSE to the play the online game. That's just mech crack for me. Next thing you'll know I'll be living in a cardboard box with internet connection ...

So in between breaks of working on some awesome projects for CombatACE (I can't wait to show you guys and gals!) I play a few minutes of Mech Commander 2 it's an old game but the funny thing is that the quality of the graphics are just horrible ... choppy and are just off. And if by some strange chance you were like me trying to figure out how in the hell such an old game can't be up to speed with graphics cards that are just so far advanced it's not even funny. I have the solution for you. There are two files in the games directory that prevenets the game from working with modern graphics cards. Funny how a business about the future ... never really plans for the future. What fixed my problem with crappy graphics was deleting these two files: vidcard.csv badcard.csv Waisted a lot of time trying to figure that problem out and all it was those two files. Well back to work.

I'm looking forward to that and the new Battlemech game that's coming out er or in development you know the one that was completely funded in like 53 minutes. Really I just need to get a new computer. All these awesome titles coming out and I'm still dreaming of the day I can get a great system with awesome internet connection.

Just wondering. The level DCS is on is just an awesome one. Is it possible for one aircraft to paint targets for another aircraft. I.e an Apache designating targets for a bomber or F-15.

Doesn't the DCS have multiplayer?

I understand what you guys are wanting, trust me I do. But these things right here will get CombatACE shutdown really quick. Have you have ever played a game that involved modern sports cars? Have you ever read the small print where it says the developers are using the emblems with the permission of the manufacturer and there is a ton of Trade Mark information? Making something as a hobby is one thing. When money get's involved you're opening up many cans of bull crap you'd never thought existed. You even have to be careful with use of Donation. Kind of like Brass Knuckles are illegal to have (in my area in anyway) but if you call them a paperweight you can get away with it. Are you Donating before or after the mod is done? What are your reasons for donating i.e to thank the mod developer? Is the donation in any form or manner a way to strongly influence the development of a mod/product? I've been to some sites that actually give you the option to donate to a mod developer simply as a way to say thank you. But in no way shape or form does that donation act like a paid commission. So basically even with the use of donations you have be careful. No kidding Mod Developers here are using some serious hardware and programs that cost thousands of dollars, plus time and energy. The models these guys are making may cost a company hundreds of dollars if not thousands. In a letter to me from TK they mentioned how one model cost them anywhere between $5,000-$10,000 to make (just one) (I was looking to invest some money with them several years ago. I was very serious and they were very serious with letting me know I'd be loosing money.) I understand it's hard to ask someone who makes models on these levels to do something for free. It's only fair to pay them or chip in somehow. But in the end like Erik said even without the legal issues you'd still risk the chance of killing the reason people come to CombatACE. Not to mention think of all the problems some have with modding their games. I've seen some folks just turn outright nasty because something went wrong (usually because they did not read a little thing called a read-me). Could you imagine a situation like that with money involved? Oh and don't forget what Bethesda tried to do with paid mods ... we all saw how well that turned out despite Bethesda's positive intentions. (In case you don't know. It was a very bad situation.)

Exactly what I was thinking! Out of curiosity, I'm wondering: When was the last time a B-52 had to use it's tail gun in combat?

Kelly's Heroes, I still liked the General when they were listening to them on the radio. Go team go! lol. It was like he listening to a football game. One of my favorite lines. "Maybe he's a republican." lol Hopefully the guy will say screw Hitler and take the money.
