Thanks man for encouragements. The contractor told me the plane is in testing and a lot of stuff must be done/tested so he let me know that it will take a little more time, but I am fine with that and I understand that quality product takes a toll in the time spent doing it.. I want, as many of you do, to see this thing gone through.

Cockpit mirror
UllyB replied to UllyB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I SOLVED IT. I looked into cockpit LOD and I discovered the each mirror frame name !!! EVRIKA!!! These are the correct values if anyone bumps into this kind of issue: [Move1] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_fr0 MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-99 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-99 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move2] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_cen MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-99 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-99 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move3] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_fr1 MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-99 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-99 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move4] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_lef MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-99 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-99 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move5] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_fra MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-99 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-99 Set[02].Value=1.0 [Move6] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=mirror_le0 MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=-99 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-99 Set[02].Value=1.0 Remember , there are two types of mirror arrangements, and each third party cockpit LOD has it unique name for mirrors and for their frames. Look for them with the LOD viewer, it's easy. In my case there were 3 mirrors. One can use Yubba workaround model and just replace the correct names taken from the cockpit nodes names. - two mirrors arrangement - three mirrors arrangement -
Cockpit mirror

Here's the cockpit files and the cockpit.ini file. Maybe you can see what I cannot and point me into the right direction. Thank you for helping. Su-25T.7z -
Cockpit mirror
UllyB replied to UllyB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I tried to change the lines to inactive. It doesn't work, the grey mirrors still appear. I looked into Yubba cockpit. ini files and, in them, the lines for mirror are untouched, but his mode still works. WHAT exactly is changed ? What lines ? I looked carefully but I don't know which... I feel so stupid. EDIT - I figured out what he changed, but still it won't work, unfortunately. The frame node name for the 3rd party cockpit (it's a SU-25T) are unknown for me. -
Tell me, please, is there a way to get rid of the cockpit mirror or somekind of workaround ? I don't play with them ON (I have a 20 fps drop with them ON) and usually they don't get into my way, but at this plane (SU-25T) they are built in such a way that they are literally standing in ...my way and they also look like their place is not there sort of thing. Turning them open is not an option for me. Is there a way to hide them, anything ? Thank you in advance. PS - First impulse was to make them transparent, but I remembered that this is not possible with a bitmap file. Or is there a way ? Or to make the background to come over them and hide them ?

Daddy you solution is slick I must admit, and subtle. Well, you know, the more, the merrier. :) -

If you make first a copy of what you want to change (especially where you know little about what you are doing) nothing wrong can happen in the end. Be brave and don't be afraid to experiment. That is the way I learned many things here about modding, and especially don't be afraid to ask questions when you are in trouble.Good luck! -
new Tornado 3d model
UllyB replied to guuruu's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
very nice presentation movie. I enjoyed it. -
In 3-4 weeks the SU-34 will be ready, my contractor assured me today, work already started. It will be flyable in SF1 and SF2 series and it will have three skins out of the box LOL. I'll keep you here posted with the development. I hope you will enjoy the thought that there will be a SU-34 brand new model added to the rest.

SF2 -> SF1 weapons
UllyB replied to UllyB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I read that tutorial long time ago. That's the reason I didn't give up SF1 series and I'm still here. But it doesn't help me with my problem ("invisible" weapons), and second, if the plane has JPGs into LODs , it's game over before you could start anything. Weapons LODs won't appear even if I change them into ANSI (the ini file I mean) for some weapons. Usually I use only the LODs and the bitmaps. As I said above, for some weapons work, for some it simply doesn't. In best case scenario even with tricks, they are invisible on plane's wings. -
Windows 7 WOV Gold
UllyB replied to Lt. James Cater's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
In campaign , as I know, you can't manage the A.I. flies number (it's a game's engine limit I think for that). You can set airbases with up to 6 flights per airbase (if they are big ones) and fly just your campaign missions (randomly generated), where you can choose how many AI wingmen you want, up to 30 I think. I remember I tried in an WOI campaign to spice things up a bit, creating more airbases, but I didn't see more then 12-15 flights rendered at once. However, even if game's code could do what you wished, you would need to have a supercomputer to render 100 AI flights in the same time and have reasonable frames on your monitor. I have a powerfull computer (not the ultimate , but close enough), and when I am near a airstrip with lots of planes, lots of buildings and lots of other HQ tiles, effects etc, my pc can get , not in its knees, but close (20fps). I don't know about you, but I like quality and I have HRez skins and tiles for everything and that costs frames. -
SF2 -> SF1 weapons
UllyB replied to UllyB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
No, the weapons I tried to change were not cruise missiles. They were just simple missiles or bombs. And no trick worked. Some worked, I used only the lod and the bitmap (tweaking the just setting in weaponseditor) . But some they seems to work but when I looked to them they seem "invisible", so that it tells me that the LOD is "coded" different. Could you help if I give you the data to have a look to some weapons ? -

By getting an AI sq flyable you mean about the campaign setting or...? -
CAPUN is busy as hell. He helped me solve the speed of AWACS escorts with great effort of me to challenge him. He's not an easy guy at all but he gets the job done like a professional. Fact is I don't need it on a fixed term and I won't be having any legal rights about the model. It would be for everyone here. So in a way I am willing to pay for everyone to have it for free and I do that because I was so pissed and, second, because I feel that I need to give something back to this community, which, in all these years, gave me so much, including YOU, even if sometimes you were so mean to me, but I got used to your style. PS - I thought that 100 bucks would be a fair amount for the job.
