I just bought SF2:I ( because I was so impressed with SF2:V ) What are the ' must have' mods for this title ? is there an equivalent of Nato Fighters or Vietnam Gold ?

I just read that the Japanese authorities are evacuating people living near a nuclear power plant. I hope that's just a precaution and it wasn't affected, what has happened so far is bad enough.

Did you know that the search function works within the downloads section as well as the forum ?

Ok, I logged out, cleared cache, logged in and the screen is just the same as before. I'm on the most current version of Firefox if that helps with the diagnosis.

The main forum page isn't rendering properly in Firefox. Not for me at least. Everything is squashed into a long column on the right side of the screen. Once I'm in a sub forum it's fine though

I agree with you. Maybe the SF series doesn't model all the details, but it does a great job of presenting the big picture.

There is a theory ( scientifically respected, but kind of a minority viewpoint ) that life outside our solar system may not actually be all that common - and intelligent life very rare indeed. This is just to put the other side of the story....like you I agree with the mainstream viewpoint that life is probably everywhere. I hope we find some evidence of it in my lifetime.

I have a long narrow garden, so I'm limited to having an F-104..................I wish

I don't know how ECM is handled in the sim but noise versus deception goes like this :- 1) A noise jammer just outputs....noise. It's a brute force method, and the ground radar will eventually 'burn through' the jamming if you get close enough because it's got more power 2) Deceptive jamming uses clever ways to spoof enemy radars so that they mess with the range indication. Makes them think you are somewhere that you aren't

You wouldn't think that little guy was bred to hunt Lions would you ? But wait till he's 3 years old, weighs 80lbs, can run like the wind and is capable of jumping high enough to bite a 6 foot human in the throat..... Not that the Ridgeback is a nasty dog, we love them because they are chilled out. Not like one of those high strung breeds who attack from fear and insecurity like the Alsation. The Ridgeback knows that he's a badass and doesn't need to prove it every 5 seconds with barking and posturing. The only time you'll hear them 'woof' is if there is something that REALLY needs woofing at. They walk quietly and carry a big stick

It's not really that simple though mate. Trophy shooting\culling funds a lot of very valuable conservation work in Africa. It'll be a cold day in hell when I shoot a big cat ( even if I could afford to ), but I'm not going to criticise those who do because their trophy fees actually do a lot of good work. I'll stick to wasting wabbits PS :- I love cats, both big and small - natures perfect killing machines....

5 kills. F4E in Linebacker II. If I remember correctly I got the first kill with a Sparrow, extended out of the fight and then another Sparrow kill when I re-engaged. Then I ended up in a dogfight where I salvoed two pairs of Sidewinders for another kill. Extended again and salvoed two Sparrows this time because the firing solution wasn't ideal, fourth kill. Fifth kill was guns, and left me very marginal on fuel. Then home for tea and biscuits I try to deal with the 17's using Sparrows ( if I can ) because they are a lot more difficult for me ( personally ) to deal with in a dogfight than the '21 - I'm doing the right thing by using the vertical, but too often I just end up in a stalemate that has eaten way too much of my fuel. My latest tactic is to knock it off after a very short while if I'm not making any headway against a '17 and go and find someone easier to kill
