  1. Hey guys, after some abysmal performance with the IRIS-T (hitting friendly targets ) I decided I would include an IFF on every decent plane lol. The thing is...how to do it? I remember asking nazghul some weeks ago, but he wasn't sure either. This question also arose after I read the YF-5 tactical tiger has an iFF, so any clues? lol
  2. Could it be the modders tried to get around the AI limitation? Historically, TW broke the AI to the point they are unable to use Laser Guided Bombs. As such, on some of the bigger mods (By eburger68) Laser guided bombs have been made "dumb" or TV Guided to allow the AI to use them. Because of this, usually for your own aircraft you gotta select the weaponry you want, rather than let the game handle it. That said, some of the "dumb" bombs actually look like Pave-ways, and thus allowing you to take out targets of opportunity that cannot be locked on (ammo dumps, factories, etc) while still preserving the overall look of the aircraft.
  3. Hey Emp! I don't know if it does...I'm using it in the various campaigns available here such as ODS, OD, NA EXP, I EXP, A&G EXP etc.
  4. Alright guys, I think I've made some headway. I lowered my Horizon distance from unlimited to normal...and wow. Full 60fps in flight and ~50fps in target-rich environments. However, selecting the brimstone's TV display lowers frames to 30fps. Oddly enough, the SBD TV display does not exhibit the same amount of slowdown, averaging ~40fps. No idea why though.
  5. The thing is, on my older laptop (an Asus VivoBook running a GT740M) I had much more stable framerates. My GPU usage was reasonable ~90% as were my temperatures. Here is my current system for reference: Time of this report: 10/5/2016, 14:34:44 Machine name: WINDOWS-ULBDE0P Machine Id: {E6E516C0-2793-4AE0-A7AE-BD3D8FFC59BA} Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 14393) (14393.rs1_release.160915-0644) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. 6. I have the exact same issue. I'm running a highly overclocked GTX960M (laptop card) with this game on "unlimited" settings. Most of the time the framerates are stable, but the moment flak opens up or I'm taking off a carrier or open the TV screen my framerates run into the ground. I've tracked my GPU usage throughout extended gaming sessions in both SF2 (modded and unmodded) and WarThunder. WarThunder has a much higher Visual Fidelity, and is definitely more taxing on a system. On "high" settings my GPU will be pushed to 95+% usage CONSTANTLY. No drops, no hiccups, nothing. This will keep my framerate locked solidly at 60FPS regardless on what's being rendered. However, the story changes for SF2. After hours of simming, my GPU usage sits happily at around 30%. If I crank up the AA to 8x, MSAA 2x, FXAA 8x and Anisotropic filtering to 8x my usage goes up 5% but my frames still take a dip. If I then render SF2 at 4K (My laptop has a 4K screen), I get a solid 30FPS but my GPU usage hovers around the 40% mark... All of this with ForceVSyncOff=TRUE and Vsync off in the Nvidia control panel. I don't know what gives!
  7. Hey guys, After taking a couple of years off this website to finish up my Engineering Degree, I finally have enough time in my schedule to allow me to sim again! 4th year is not too bad...so after dusting my stick I head out to download a massive amount of data :p I have a couple of questions however: 1) Since I last was here, I upgraded my laptop from an Asus Vivobook (Packing a GT740M) to a Dell XPS 15 (Packing a GTX960M). I also have a 4K screen which makes everything look that much crisper. That said, I'm having troubles with low GPU usage even after setting my Nvidia Control panel to maximize performance. I've tried disabling Vsync in the options.ini (ForceVSyncOff = TRUE) and in the Control Panel....but I seem to still be locked to 60fps on a non-graphic intensive part of the flight. Once I start looking around, the frames drop to the 30-40fps range, and when the TV missile's screen comes up, it grinds to a 20fps halt... I've tracked my GPU usage to figure out if 4K was bottlenecking my system, but it was stilll hovering about 70% usage with big drops to 30%.... I then lowered the resolution to 1920x1080p with no change...my fps still drop significantly and my GPGU usage is now constantly around 30%. Has anybody dealt with this before? 2) Kinda getting back into "modding" (.ini edits ftw) I've been toying around with the idea of equipping NATO Aircraft with brimstones held on SBD quad racks. I tried my hand at some edits and I could only get the AGM114A to use the proper rack, but the brimstone and the SBD itself still use the Maverick's TER. Any of you modding guru's think you can lend a newbie a hand? Closing remarks: Feels good to be back man, this place is better than when I left and the content is better than ever! Have a good day guys.
  8. I'm just surprised I'm having so many issues with FPS...One second it's fine and the next my FPS run into the ground. This machine runs War Thunder on High at a constant 60FPS...so I cannot believe SF2 requires more juice! My GPU usage is still abnormally low, as are my GPU temperatures (especially after gaming for hours). In War Thunder my GPU will easily peak 89*C With near 100% utitlization, but SF2 seems to only use 30% of my GPU...I was running a strike mission in Operation Darius and the moment I selected the TV guided missiles my frames ground to a halt.
  9. Thanks for your replies guys! So far in regards to my frame rate issue, I have everything cranked up to unlimited.... My laptop's graphic's card hovers around the 60*C mark (when in theory should go to 89*C under full load) which is why I'm wondering why my GPU isn't being fully utilized. It almost feels like VSYNC is still on...limiting my frames to 60fps (looking up at the blue sky) while then failing to adapt properly when explosions or AA open up. Any settings that you guys have deemed unnecessary? I'm away from my stick for the rest of today, but I'll try to crank it down to "high" to see if it makes a difference. On a saide note, is it possible that SF2 is more CPU bound? I have an Intel I5 6300HQ mobile Quad core with relatively high single thread clock speeds. I haven't tracked my CPU usage so I wouldn't know...what do you guys think?
  10. GTX 1060

My GTX960M has no issues running SF2 (merged) and a myriad of Campaigns (Darios, ODS, ETC) with the latest drivers running windows 10!
  11. Hey There! I think that if I change the .lods, he skins would no longer work, am I correct? About the ground mode radar, I do not mind if it's gone or not, If the original didn't have it, then it shouldn't! However, since I've been working fulltime, I havent had a chance to check it the fixes helped. AND i completely missed this thread! In the event that I want to activate nozzle animations, how could I make them work again? If I were to use the MiG-29C-Czech .lod, what other problems could be caused?
  12. Hey Russo! I just installed both your MiG-29C-Czech and the MiG-29C-Ukraine. They're gorgeous! However, the MiG-29C-Ukraine has missing nozzle animations! They stay wide open regardless of throttle inputs! And the MiG-29C-Czech has a non-functional GM display. It shows up on the upper right corner, but on the radar display nothing shows up. All other radar settings work fine!
  13. Hello there! I too have experienced your first issue, albeit with differing aircraft. It's an issue with the game engine, more than your plane itself. After a couple of flights and battles it sorts itself out! Just make sure you're patched to the latest level, just in case! (I've patched to the latest level, and no problems to report!) On your second issue, are you sure it's a friendly? Have you clicked the "Y" key (selects friendlies) and they still show up red? Or do they show up as red when pressing the "T" key? In any case, I think you might be slightly confused! If you have installed the JAS-39C or any other versions, you have to remember some are flown by the "Red" side (ie. Czechoslovakia). I've flown my own flight of Swedish Gripens against enemy Czech Gripens! Can you recognize the markings on them? Screenshots could be really helpful!
  14. Hello! The way I see it, you have a couple of options: 1) Update to the latest patch level, re-downloading and installing. Or.. 2) Download Nato Fighters 5 and get their SU-27
  15. If my memory serves well, I think there are certain files, .tga's maybe that you can remove in order to make enemies and friendlies not show on the map. You might have to dig a bit further, but I definitely read that on here a week or so ago.
  16. MiG-17PFU

Foxbat1966, you're having issues with your "fakepilot". Copy the entire Pilots folder of this download, and paste it into your pilots folder in your mods folder. That should solve the issue.
  17. Treads, you could head over to the column5 website to download some SF2 compatible planes and skins. Or you could also download SF1 planes and skins and convert them for SF2 usage, as per the Knowledge Base here at CA :)
  18. Hey Monty CZ! I just want to say this: The delay from PC input to TV showing this input is NOT due to the HDMI. Think about it. Consoles, like the PS3 (and the upcoming PS4) use HDMI to connect to TV screens. I own a PS3 myself, and a laptop with an HDMI output, and I can vouch that there's no lag whatsoever when I play any type of games on both machines. Now, your lag, is entirely real. But it's caused by something else entirely. By your TV. Sadly, most high-end TV's (especially 3D TV's) have their own display engines and stuff which decide what goes on screen at any given time. Given as a TV's brain isn't nearly as fast as say...a Haswell I7...you're in for a little bit of delay. How to fix it? I'm not entirely sure...Some brands tend to be at a bigger fault than others. Thankfully, my two big flat screens aren't an issue, then again, they aren't 3D lol! But, If you want to try to fix such an issue, heading to an online forum for the TV (dunno if they exist tho) could help you fix it. Alternatively, you could update the TV's firmware/software/etc.
  19. Hello! I play on a laptop, with a relatively weak HD Radeon 4530M (512mb GDDR3) My GPU usage goes to 100 percent. GPU Temp: 97°C GPU Memory Usage: close to 600mb (dynamic memory from RAM comes into play) Framerates: 50-ish outside at high altitude. 30-ish NOE flights and inside cockpit.
  20. AGM-12E

This might be waaaaay off into dreamy land, but could've the clipped wing-tips mean internal carriage? (B-1B, F-111, etc?) Or as daddy-airplanes said, to be able to fit in smaller attack aircraft without interfering with the landing gear, etc.
  21. AGM-12E

Stipe...please... I think Raven_Claw is smart enough to google for stuff before he asks for it. Plus, after all of what he's done, I think he's entitled to some help, would you not agree? As to Raven, I'll get home in a couple of hours, and I'll try to help you with your research.
  22. Hey there! From the sound of it, your engines overheated. Definitely.
  23. I suggest getting the third generation Intel Core I5's and I7's...they are slighly more efficient, more powerful, and turbo boost adds about 1GHZ to the baseclock. Or, you could also buy an I7 3770K (you can overclock)...but alternatively, it's your choice. However, if you want to improve your performance, get a better graphics card. I can't stress this enough. If you have a tight budget, get a GTX660TI or a Radeon 7850 or 7950. The GTX660TI would be my top pic...but you could research into others as well. Graphics card from Galaxy and MSI are really good. Try to get the Twin Frozr cards or at least the ones that do not have the standard slot cooler on them (they tend to run much warmer than their counterparts).
  24. Hey guys! I first wanted to thank everyone for the awesome mods. I've had countless hours of fun over the past months. But, as I start digging into .ini modifications and the sort (new modder in the midst perhaps? ;) ) I've come across three points I could use some help in. For starters: 1. The F-4E Phantom ARN-101 (F-4E_79) has these annoying 'adapters' or something underneath each shoulder pair in each of the inner wing pylons. It sticks out under anything I load...and it just look plainly awful, especially after jettisoning external stores, etc. Any help? It LOOKS like an AGM-65 Adapter...but I'm not entirely sure. I'm trying to make a quasi F-4EX Enhanced Super Phantom..GE-F414-EPE's, Meteor capability on MER, AIM-2000 IRIS-T Capability ON MER, lower weight due to carbon fiber and modern alloy's, updated avionics and glass cockpit, improved fuel quantity, flaps from the F-4S (FULL WING BABYY), etc. It's basically a compilation of many small mods and .ini edits. Looks awesome, and fights superbly! Can turn with a MiG-19! LOL 2. Certain "What if" MiG-23's (such as the german flogger, the F-7C, etc) Look SPECTACULAR. BUT I think a healthy improvement would be to port over the stock MiG-23 FM into them, as they have this annoying tail wag after each aileron roll. Any clues on what to modify? 3. A long time ago, an F-15 super pack was released. I WAS STOKED. It was amazing. But one little detail has bugged me since then. They fly like wallowing whales! Not like the stock 3W F-15. I would like to make them more agile and nimble, possibly porting over the Stock F-15 FM to the 3rd Party F-15's? Any helps on that too? Finally, everything looks awesome. Seriously. I can't thank you guys enough. Stary's cockpit's are amazing, (The German dude...forgot your ID, sorry!!!) weapon packs and teaser packs look amazing. Can't wait for updated brimstones, etc! Wrench. Your sense of humor plus smart .ini editing has gotten me flying circles around everything. To everyone else, thank you for everything!
