  1. America is over. Time to move on.
  2. I never understood why Swede wouldn't let us release that.
  3. Not WWII, but a classic worth watching: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battle_of_Algiers
  4. The parked aircraft have unique aircraft number decals, so probably not part of the ship model.
  5. I don't think I've ever mentioned this to anyone except BLTDAN... Back when TK worked with Destineer to make WoE, I and several others here were on the official beta test team. This was more formal than TKs normal beta tests were, in that we used a web based bug-tracking tool. Anyway, one of the producers at Destineer saw my old website and contacted me via email, which resulted in us talking on the phone a couple of times. He was really fired up that the games had such a following, and was impressed with the work that the modders had done to the point where he wanted to either include some community work in the game, or possibly have a selection of official community mods available on their website. This never went beyond a couple of conversations, and I was clear with him that we in the community didn't want to step on TKs toes or get in his way. It makes me wonder what would have happened if TK had taken a different approach back then when he had an actual publisher and his games were in stores.
  6. I remember emailing him back in the 2003-2004 timeframe asking if he would be willing to do an interview and answer some questions. I told him we wouldn't ask anything that was related to the sales side of the business and that he could skip any questions he didn't want to answer. Flatly refused. He talks about low sales but does no marketing and no outreach to potential customers. Apparantly, if you build it they DON'T magically come...damn you Kevin Costner.
  7. I can't think of any game TK could produce for the iPhone or iPad that I would buy. Certainly not a flying game of any sort. I also can't fathom how that mission editor could have taken so much effort to produce that it almost broke the company--that doesn't pass my internal reasonableness test.
  8. Happy birthday!
  9. You are hereby awarded one: http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Her_Majesty's_Royal_Flying_Rat's_Ass
  10. They were really ahead of their time.
  11. Yeah the last fleet A-4 squadrons were decommed in 1975. Should be easy to create a backdated campaign though with Oriskany on its final cruise Nov '74 to May '75. It was a WESTPAC, but who cares?
  12. Been a while sine I thought about flight models, but you might want to check the Xac tables for the horizontal stabs: XacMachTableNumData=7 XacMachTableDeltaX=0.40 XacMachTableStartX=0.00 XacMachTableData=-7.160,-7.168,-7.188,-7.599,-7.766,-7.866,-7.955 (The above is just for illustration, those values won't work for the Seahawk) If the Xac is being placed too far back, it could be greatly amplifying the pitching moment of the elevators, leading to calamity.
  13. The latest screens and info seem to indicate more win in SF2NA than I previously expected.

  15. Love it!
  16. Or in this case, Dave and Sparky. "I'm queen of the world!!!" --Dave
  17. If the Sidewinder article on Wikipedia is correct, the Air Force adoped the AIM-9 (calling it the GAR-8) when it adopted the F-4. The USAFs first Phantoms were F-4Bs, but they kept the Sidewinder for the F-4C and did not switch to the AIM-4 until the F-4D. Looks like the USAF borrowed two F-4Bs from the Navy in January 1962, so they probably took delivery of AIM-9s a little after that.
  18. I could be wrong...it does raise an interesting question...when did the USAF first adopt the AIM-9 for one of its aircraft? I know the F-100 did eventually carry them, but from what date?
  19. One reason could be that the AIM-9 was a Navy missile and at the time the F-86H was in development it would have been politically incorrect for the USAF to adopt it.
  20. One of the things I always wanted was the ability to spawn flights in and out at the edge of the map rather than requiring an airbase for them to originate form. That feature would be nice for this scenario.
  21. "Light" sims don't need cockpits, anyway.
