  1. The mig-29 is like a tutorial aircraft from a video game. Kinda fun to show you the ropes with, but in combat, meh, nothing special It's the kinda plane you use when you need to bomb a country whose air force is composed of kites or balloons, like the Hornet jk I guess as long as it looks like a dangerous tiger, your enemies won't need to know that they'll be gummed to death.
  2. HAHAHAHA! I was born just after the first one came out I had the chance to see "A new Hope" at a cinema a while back and it certainly rocked more than seeing it at home!
  3. For me, it was hard to convert from TNG as a kid to B5 and then after B5, it was hard to watch anything that wasn't! That 5 year arc Jo wrote was priceless and a testement to what good writing can achieve. I don't think we'll ever see anything like it again which is a big shame since just about everything SciFi now has either the SciFi novelty value attached to it, or the formulaic, stale writing that the Trek universe is plagued with (Joss and Firefly/Serenity notwithstanding since he bucked this trend in a MASSIVE way! )
  4. Yeah, can one of you show me how to use a slide rule? So what are you gonna do for you bday Pilot? Gonna get the fam together for a night around the wireless? Maybe go to the moving pictures Sorry old timers, couldn't resist.
  5. I've noticed too that you have to get reasonably close to enemy aircraft for them to take the bait and attack. For example, my Tomcat wingmen rarely engage with long range AAMs more 40-50 kms from target (sorry you imperial measurement users, but really, you should embrace metric and joint the 21st century!). Or worse still, they'll scream up to target, cross the threshold where it's slightly too close for IRMs, but too far for guns and just sort of... sit there. There's nothing quite as disturbing as seeing a wing of Su-27s or F-23s get mowed down by the tailgunner of a badger... breaks my heart
  6. Happy BDay PCPilot! So it was 50 years ago you were born huh? Refresh my memory, did we have electricity back then?
  7. A-10B's been done. Think it was USAFMTL and his buddies, either way, it's good stuff and it's in the downloads section. Someone was making an F-16XL but I think it got reprioritised and fell by the wayside. Would be good if it gets released but the biggest problem is that demand outstrips the talent. Too many potential models, too few modders This is partly why the Su-27 and F-22 have taken (or been taking) so long to come out. Kaza, where the hell did you get that?! I thought it was real when I first looked at it!
  8. Super Mega happy funtime Easter to everyone! ...Except for you USAFMTL! No Easter shout outs to you! Just kidding, hope y'all rack up a great score of chocky eggs!
  9. I had a similar problem with adding the B-52 to SF and at the time I didn't have either WoV or WoE. I downloaded the B-52G from the CheckSix site (http://www.checksix-fr.com/) and now have the B-52G and H running fine. I dunno how you'll go if you specifically want the D model, but I hope it helps. A warning though, it's in french, but you can get a translated page if you do a google search. Translation's not great though...
  10. That's some serious Porn storage! Just curious Paul, have you found it hard to find the old tabletop cabinets?
  11. Ooh! Very Nice Cap! Gonna have to add one to my HMAS Melbourne!
  12. This is the Dawn of War series, yeah? I got a copy of this from a guy i used to work with and was pleeasantly surprised by it. Not normally into WH40K but I loved how they set up the infantry in it!
  13. That was dropped around 2001 wasn't it? Part of the reasoning was to reduce costs, another part was that LIFT (lead in fighter training) could be performed using an existing (yet customised) airframe.
  14. Jog my memory, was this the first (or one of) fighter to have an ejection seat since pilots bailing out would be diced by the pusher...?
  15. SayethWhaaaa

    Ummm Yeah

Bloody hell... I think I'll draw the line at ingesting humans. I mean bloody hell...
  16. I'm guessing the fake was the front one, but I have a head injury at the mo and may not even be looking at the photo... (it was about babar, yeah?)
  17. Damn, they got it in four posts.... I was thinking at least 6 or 7
  18. Or for the Taliban, maybe "Ban this :fuk: " I think that'd fit underneath a Raptor

    New Jib Jab

Is it sad that I'd go the brady bunch effect with a tic tac toe grid of news channels...? The big issue will be remembering to get a hotel room with cable access. And a window seat! I wanna window seat too!
  20. Ah phooey! You know what i meant.

    New Jib Jab

Yeah, but I didn't have access to cable, that was a large part of the problem... Next time I come over, I'll try harder!
  22. Hahaha, Top gear rocks!!
  23. LOL Now Kei's just showing off
  24. Bloody Poms always taking credit for our deeds! A very good point actually. I made a bit of a generalisation and damn your Canadian logic making a lot of sense! You're absolutely right plus, I was also thinking of explosive rounds. And since cannon weren't fitted to WWI aircraft that I know of, that makes the ground fire theory seem even more flukey!
  25. Holy crap! I wasn't expecting to have this kind of stand off capability tonight! 18... Bloody Hell... I could prolly squeeze another 6 in there but I don't think I'll need them... or will I? Alrighty, as for search texture/sight texture, the search entry should be fine. I missed the EGOB entry, cheers. I tend to put in as a force of habit but I'm not really looking to have electro optical capability for this bomber. The Harpoon knockoffs I'm showing here have their guidance set to "Command Guided Radio" so they were working fine after I added "CGR" like so: AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,NUC,LGB,ASM,CGR Now that I think of it, I think you're right about the ASM being invalid. I think I just picked that up from a weapon designations guide from a while ago, it might have been Armor Dave's, I'm not sure. Again, just something I usually add out of habit. I think the problem in the end was just the size allocated for the bombay. I didn't realise the smaller LGBs would take up that much more space. I think the optimal setting will be a bombload of 18. That way I'll still be able to load GBU-12&16s +GBU-22 & 24s. If I allow for a higher payload I'll lose the 22s. The only downside for this means that I'll only be able to load 18 Harpoons... Just so you know, this was just me seeing what a modernised B-47 might look like. I very much like using this model more than the B-52 that's already available and I just wanted to see how I could pimp it out...
