  1. ...and having that monetary black hole that was the A-12 program, which began to threaten some funding to the Carrier program at one point, didn't help. People complain about the F-111B being a bust, the A-12 was the mother of all busts!
  2. She doesn't trust her car's airbags?? Anyways, I thought Lola Ferrari's were bigger... like basketball sized. That she did that to herself always freaked me out.
  3. I agree, who needs that lardass of a co-pilot anyways! Besides, the Tomcat couldn't return to the deck with 6 Phoenixes...
  4. Say what you will, but the 'B' is a good looking bomber! I could easily visualize this on a carrier deck in the place of an A-3 or A-5...
  5. I was led to believe there'd be punch and pie here (when it was Biohaz). Instead I found LOMAC skins I was after while everyone was raving about some game called Strike Fighters. I rejoined about 2 years later (when I figured out what this Strike Fighters game was) when it was CA and stayed for the witty banter and fart jokes.
  6. I still think that expecting a light bomber airframe to perform ACM like a fast mover is going to be frought with issues unless said light bomber platform resembles the Su-34 or something. Even the Tornado F.3/4 had these issues. Albeit, not to this degree.
  7. Only had a decent chance to have a looksee today. I'm impressed. Dig those G model BUFFs!
  8. Apparently Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes are going to be "Mortal enemies" in the movie. Despite being buddies in Vietnam and SS having his family, the Arashikage clan, adopting SE into their clan and training him as a ninja after SE's family was killed in a car accident. ...what? I used to be a fan.
  9. The A-4T.ini, data.ini and texture set.inis all match, yeah? That is the nation names are all identical?
  10. That Pig's taxiing too. K I'll shut up now. Raven, I dig that Rhino skin!
  11. The thing is, we want you to come here and want to come back! What's the point of opening forums if you're going to shut down dissent, or pretty much any opiniton that's not compliant with your own. Those people may as well just go and talk at themselves in a mirror. Here, we fans of a stack of stuff but specialise in in the TW games. Everyone who contributes seems to have a lot of fun getting their hands dirty in the guts of these sims, 99% of the community is supportive of each other and encouraging newer members getting into and enjoying this series. We (the community) have a pretty low tolerance of those who come with holier than thou attitudes seeking adulation, and rightly so I believe. We have a good thing going here. Just about every other forum has pockets of helping members in a sea of twat types, but here the opposite holds true. And, yeah, we (the mods and members) get pissy from time to time, but I rarely ever see threads where someone has treated another with a complete lack of respect (I could prolly only count it on one hand personally). And given how we all come from incredibly diverse backgrounds, idelologies, religions, levels of awesomeness, etc, that's a pretty mean accomplishment! Personally, I'll tip my hat to and buy every single one of you for the contibutions you've all made to this series, no matter how small the contribution. ps, Despite what I said about the rounds, don't come calling for the beer! I figure with 20 000+ members and a beer costing somewhere around the AUD $7 mark, I'd be spending AUD $140 000ish on you guys. I mean, I like you all, but not $140k worth.
  12. The thing is, anyone would make a better singer than Joey Fatone.
  13. Dave, how're you gonna keep the troops in line when you've gone and grown a big mangina all of a sudden?? Our enemies, the trolls, will see it as a weakness. A weakness I tells you! I think Whiteknight deserves a round for that nugget of truth! lol
  14. Yeah baby!
  15. Maybe it's a cry for help...
  16. Say it with me folks... Judging by their output recently, real soon would be a good guess.
  17. YEAH!! KICK HIS ASS WARLORD!! KAPOW!! EDIT: Sorry lads, this 117F heat is getting to me... what were we talking about again??
  18. No, that's component of the ICBM intercept system for the US missile shield. This one is an actual testbed.
  19. Definitely looking forward to this one Erwin! Loving your Flanker series!
  20. Howdy Doody? Heh... doody.
  21. Damn dude... that's a looooong time ago!!! I have to admit though, I saw the title and immediately thought it had something to do with Alonzo Mourning... oops!
  22. It would have been an online defense subscription or something I might have read waaaaaaaaay when I was at ASPI... way back!
  23. I think the big kink in my experiment was the vision range of the turrets. I've since trashed the testbed in question so I don't remember what exactly I had in there, but if the turrets (the bomber itself?) were able to detect incoming hostiles at greater ranges (10kms or further)and assuming the bomber was at sufficient altitude and the missile had the requisite fuel load (and sufficient turning circle), I think it would be a nasty deterrent. Is it possible that turrets have a fixed vision range? ie, the turrets are limited to a gun range limitation that is less than 500m and irrespective of the weapon type, weapons and response is limited to that anything that comes within that range?
  24. Yeah, I know dude. I watched you develop it. This post will be 2 years old next week. I gave it a go a while ago, but I lost interest in the idea for SFP as for some reason I couldn't get the missiles to fire unless the bomber/hostile were practically on top of each other (well within gun range) which meant the missile hardly ever tracked. I think I saw a couple of hits against slower moving targets but I remember the kill rate against a target sans flares was roughly a 50-50 chance, against one equipped with flares, it seemed to be a lot less. Although I think this was long before Kei Nagase and his QAAM arrived on the scene. It might have made a difference as the flight characteristics of that weapon make it far more forgiving than other IRMs that I've seen. It was a fun experiment though!
