Ah the fog of war :) Hard to say really without seeing the actual claim and details, did you switch settings from realistic claims to easy or something?

Welcome Broadside if you are in campaign there's an lot of stuff going on around you on the ground, battles across the whole front etc (not just near you for effect or whatever). Intensity of which also co-incide with real major battles. Also 1000's of trees are generated far out to the horizon, which looks good. We don't just show trees near to the player for example. There can be 200 craft or more in the air all doing real missions all around you too. Lots going on eats some FPS. With some tweaking you should be able to get the fps up. The TIPS page is just a start, others have better setups perhaps. Some pics of cockpit view you don't like would help. You can change FoV in workshops with the latest patch. 23/16 is zoomed in to natural angle, but you can say set 25/19 or wider. Play with AA settings too and make sure you run it on max res. Try scenery or terrain on 3 and then go up to 4 if it's good. Sounds bad if the driver falls over. Could also be some errors on the PC or in the registry maybe worth checking those too. Check out Alacrity tips by Homeboy (links on FAQ page) for freeing up memory and resources which may help, could be 1 or 2 background programs something doesn't like. Also he has TrackIR setup tips (For V4 I think but may be usable). RoF and OFF use completely different engines so can't directly compare things that work in one and not in the other.

Welcome! Make sure you were not the leader, (see labels if on, if there is no flight leader you are..) If so you need to target some ground objects for the guys to attack. Use awareness radar (shift+t) press T to scroll through types, tab to target. Then press A. 2 guys should peel off and make a line up (may go quite a way out first and come back and attack). If you are not leader, the leader may choose to attack elsewhere, or go further out to line up on this or another target, or attack enemy fighters. If you are leader, shift+w next waypoint, once you have done (sometimes you can't for a while). See FAQ for a keyboard chart or look in your cfsww1 over flanders fields\mb folder for PDFs

Actually the last patch is not complete patch it is a mini update (as is the one before) so..... See the Downloads page on our website, it is all clearly stated and explained as to what you need. A fresh install you will need to basically download ALL patches on the top of the download page , and install all in order.. -

In Game, esc, controls, add assignment, find the virtual cockpit click add and enter C for example. Save config as "Mine" no quotes.

I have no idea on how CFS3 compares XDPS for MP just an idea. But as you know it is very fussy about differences (even when they are the same anyway!) If you have the same FOV.. and the same XDPs otherwise, only difference must be date? i.e. when you modified FOV. -
Believe it or not there is also a keyboard layout in there we had long forgot about, and some excellent info compiled by Rob - including aircraft details, tips on flying, silhouette recognition ..

Great guys thanks for the feedback. Yes I remember in P1 development, describing one of the first combats I had and dived through huge cloud to lose an Alb on my tail, came out the bottom no enemy then saw him pop out the cloud a few 100 ft away, great moment looking up at that. Must have been lucky then though as never dared since ;) Mm on the MP then it looks like you need to just have exactly the same installs not modded no FOV chanegs. Or someone sets them and then you pass that "standard" defined set around to use. Not much we can do about that. Must be down to date on the XDP.. If you change FOV it will actually alter all XDPs. Even if you all do same amendments, the dates will be wrong compared to someone else who hit the FOV button some other date.. -

It's a known bug in cfsconfig. It never shows what it is set to if you revisit the option. Set it, then you must exit via File, Exit. Mentions it in the FAQ under 3) here http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#...on_and_settings

Promotions seem a bit too frequent

Until we have more early aircraft in that region in the early part of 1916 you will likely see little enemy contact (plus it's early days in the war). Try a later date or another Escadrille in a different area. (The only way round that is to have some long range missions from some squadrons or substituions of squads/aircraft which can get more messy). -
We think most of those issues are because you are mixing some players running via the manager and some via cfs3.exe. The manager does a LOT of work including loading our fixes and massive improvements for AI etc. I would make sure all are using the same version, same DM, no changed craft, all via the OFF manager - i.e. ALL identical setups then see. If you run cfs3.exe then our AI is not active either.

Yep as I said on the ground or low you are very close to many objects, all using lovely texture memory. Terrain and scenery trees etc are at their highest quality as are all craft and objects near or next to you are probably using high detail models as they are close to you. More vid memory down the pan.. gulp gulp. I'd say ease off the settings, turn down AA filtering if you use it (or oddly sometimes up works no idea why) also try the tips above, Alacrity as above too as it helps with general free memory too.

That will be it :) Install the latest 1.30 and then 1.30c and you should be good to go.. many things fixed since 1.0 (all within 2 or 3 months too :)) -
OK to delete CFS3 after OFF BHaH installation?

Just make sure you don't install OFF into the normal folder for CFS3 if you installed that. Put it elsewhere and it shouldn't cause a problem if you unstall CFS3.
