Yeah, I love NF! That's my main problem. Any idea of the needed tweaking? I'm also afraid for the future: if these total conversions ODS and OTC are to be one day released for Gen2, they probably won't like merged install, will they? Just like other mods like NF. I'm considering whether bying only three of the games (and put 10$ more, but frankly it's TK, it does not bother me that much) rather than the pack, just to be sure I am able to play such mods when and if they are released.

Well, it was what I understood reading his post on Thirdwire boards. But nothing replaces indeed a clear answer. I'll ask him. If they are patched, why should I go to the combo pack? I won't be able to use mod IIRC.

That's the trick. I usually lack the time and especially the abilities to edit things like that, save it's very light edits. That's also why I appreciate so much you modders works... I guess I will have to take separate games...

AFAIK, the combo as well as the separated games are sold patched. So, december update will be in whatever my choice is. I've read the topic about the said patch... I guess it will rise serious issues with NF and Vietnam mod (forgot the name, just saw it download section), wouldn't it?

Well, I would love to have them all... But that merged install thing does pose a serious problem. I want indeed my games modded.

hmmm campaign, yummy!

So... I've borrowed my mother computer as mine died. It's powerfull enough to run the Gen2 sims, so I was pondering wether to buy some of them or not. Then came the Christmas Combo pack! The problem is: it will install the games in a merged install. I've never done this before, so I would like to know wether it is a good idea or not. More precisely, how will this pose a problem to a guy used to play modded games, especially Nato Fighters and such convertions like ODS or OTC? Will I be able to play them or not? So, should I buy the combo or only select the games I do prefer?

I'm considering buying the X-mas special, as I do not own any of the Gen2 games... But that thread frankly alarms me. Is the game playable? Are the star mods (aka NF4 for WoE2 and Vietnam pack, widesky and green hell)able to run on the last patch standart? Apart from WoI, if I'm to play without mods, I'd rather stick with Gen1.

Mixed bag as well here. Got into prestigious school and recently graduated, but I'm struggling like hell to find a job. I'm even considering enlisting in the Navy: I only hesitate because of the girl and that I'm not really the kind of guys who feels as a warrior and good enough to do so.. But if I eventually enlist, I will perhaps found out it's what I was made to do... Up and down in my personnal life. Some years were awesome (yeah 2003 and 04), other frankly s**tty (yes, you, 2005 and 2009!) Met a great girl but did not worked out, met another one and we'll see how it will evolve. Met also great friends. And general issues: meh... I'm frankly worried for the future of the western world, especially for France and Europe. And I'm afraid the next decades are to be worse.

French (and french canadian) modders even made a "Version Integrale" mod with missions ranging from Episode I to Episode VI! It even figured the Trench Run... It vanished from the Web sadly. Boy, I had fun with this game!

AFAIK, the last SW "sim" released was XWING Alliance, back in 1999. Great game, but must be quite outdated now.

Well, some (Loire 46; MS225 and Dewoitine D371 aka "Flying Coffin") were indeed quite anecdotical. Others, such as Spad S510 and Dewoitine did fly war missions in the first few weeks. Some D510 even made a few failed interceptions in the Lyon area. Of course, german recon planes were by far faster... And as I said, they were on reserve bases and squadrons, deeper in the Country, not in Lorraine or Alsace as top of the line models. That being said, I'm in no way asking for them in any future BoF Campaign. They would just make an awesome addition to have the squadrons that used those planes using them in the first missions and then upgrading to newer design during the course of the game. But it's indeed not that necessary. It shall also be noted that equivalent german models, Heinkel 51 and Arado something were also serving at that time and were phased out in the same time: late 39, early 40. Regarding the start of the campaign: Is it possible to have a period of small skimirshes and espaced missions and then suddenly the real show in the same scenario? Well, if it's the case, 1939 would be great.
