SF2NA: The RSR Edition
Canadair replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Also in desert storm then? I mean it is not about the carrier,,right? If I have simply two naval groups without carrier it would still happen? -
SF2NA: The RSR Edition
Canadair replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thank you: My question was wrongly worded: I meant Because of an upgrade to the target list of 3w terrain, it happened that the Gerwin one ended with inland targets that were supposed to be on the shoreline. If the gerwin and/or the baltica terrain have different and proprietary tarrget list and not just copied over from 3w terrain that should not happen, but hey what do I known at the moment Another thing: in black sea crisis readme you mentioned a "feature" of the campaign engine that once task force are discovered they get furiously attacked, and no way to prevent this. Does that happen in ALL the naval campaing, including this one and north cape? does that happen if there are two battle groups? -
SF2NA: The RSR Edition
Canadair replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Which of the three terrains would you suggesT? And hmm are the gerwin and baltika terrain suffering from the coastline being differnet form the original TW theatre? I am sorry if the question sounds silly, I have been away for a while and I am considering sf2 again... also is it possibile to have RSR in the same install as northcape? -

Canadair replied to Wrench's topic in Star Wars File Announcements
Then copy/paste, move, however you do it, the "wolf" folder into the ...BalenceOfPower/Combat folder. Then, use the text below to add to the mission and Rebel.lsts Do you mean the mission and rebel lsts residing in the same /combat folder? -

SF2 Campaigns for Desert4
Canadair replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
I have a question: could be my ignorance for being away for long time from Sf2 scene In the campaign.ini file (the one attached is from burning sand for desert 4 ) there , for each of the flyabale squadron always UnitID=1 I checked and this is repeating overe all 6 campaigns included Is it normal? In series 1 I remember well this would have been a serious problem in choosing flyables. Maybe in series 2 is different? Please if time allows can I have an explanation? thank you [CampaignData] CampaignName=590901 Operation Burning Sands DataFile=Campaign1_data.ini CampaignMap=DESERT4 ------------------- [uSAFUnit001] Squadron=7TFS ForceID=1 UnitID=1 <---------------------------------- StartDate=09/01/1959 DescFile=Campaign1Desc.txt StartText=Campaign1Start.txt AircraftType=F-100D [uSAFUnit002] Squadron=8TFS ForceID=1 UnitID=1 <-------------------------------- StartDate=09/01/1959 DescFile=Campaign1Desc.txt StartText=Campaign1Start.txt AircraftType=F-100D [uSAFUnit003] Squadron=9TFS ForceID=1 UnitID=1 <--------------------------continues for all the flyables.. StartDate=09/01/1959 DescFile=Campaign1Desc.txt StartText=Campaign1Start.txt AircraftType=F-100D 100D -
Eburger, thank you. The Gerwin Terrain would be indeed better though, are you planning an update that includes this terrain? Switchiing manually is not difficult, but could be tricky in this phase 4. Copy over all the other new files (beyond the core .INI files) from the main terrain folder to whatever folder you're using for Gerwin's terrain.

The potential of the 3w series was enormous and has been mostly wasted. I agree 100% with Skatezilla's considerations. It should be added though, that the commnunity, including the most important modders, has huge responsability as well. Huge as a matter of fact. I can still remember clearly the most prominent members of the modders community, climbing on smooth glass, to cover for TK most debatable "design choices", of "features" . When the modders' leaders themeselves were covering for him, on this boards and others, covering desperately TK's bad choices, (when not the BUGS, or the open lies from TK himself), then what could we expect? Serious problems were diminished of importance, or put in a corner, or ignored. Now he thinks he can easily go without the modders themeselves and catering to some joe 6packs customers, or android players. He has been badly "educated" and directed by the community, again, let me underline, led by the most prominent modders. Now that he feels better he dropped them as well and locked everything. We, (you) deserved it. It is a bitter consideration, and I am really not happy to make it. We have all been fooled by TK, some to more extent than others EDIT: I have about 100 gb, maybe more, of SF1/SF2 installs, and they are not leaving HD for now. The variety of 3w series is immense, we all agree with that. Still the frustation for what could have been is equally immense.

Desert3 Terrain
Canadair replied to Piecemeal's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
. All airfields have also been re-catagorised into two different groups; 'Red' and 'Blue'. For example, a Dhimari DESERT_AIRFIELD4 will now be 'BLUE_AIRFIELD4' and a Parani one will now be 'RED_AIRFIELD4'. Is there a reson for this? as it makes difficult to stage campaings designed for the stock terrain on this perfrct add on -
Has anyone been there? Seems it is quite likely I will be there neext month for work purposes. All kind of information are welcome:)

Alessandro assolutamente corrette tutte le considerazioni aerotecniche. TK ne sa di aerotecnica più o meno quanto certi piloti ignoranti che conosco io

Sidewinder FFB 2/Win 7 help needed
Canadair replied to themightysrc's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I am surprised you loaded it, since the Sidewinder program is not compatible with W7, and Microsoft never thoguht it was a goode idea to update it for W7. It is only the best joystick ever designed after all in any case, if you plug it in the usb, it will be recognised by w7 and will work perfectly fine, but forget about the mangement program about force intenisity and such: you will be stuck with default settings
