What a co-in-ki-dink....I was researching the F-111A for Constant Guard...This is what I have and currently looking up tail numbers. "474th Tactical Fighter Wing The 474th returned to Takhli RTAFB in September 1972. Three F-111A squadrons (the 428th,429th and 430th) participated in the Linebacker II aerial offensive against North Vietnam. They flew bombing missions against targets in North Vietnam and Laos in the midst of the monsoon season. They flew without RB-66E electronic countermeasures escort aircraft or KC-135 tankers. On 8 November 1972, they flew 20 strikes over North Vietnam in weather that grounded other aircraft. Four F-111As could deliver the bomb loads of 20 F-4s. The 428th,429th and 430th TFS flew some 4000 combat missions with excellent success rates in hitting targets even when visibility was near zero. Only six aircraft were lost in action. All F-111A had tail code of NA, but I've seen them with the following as well. 428th NA 429th HG 430th NC The F-111A was the initial production version of the F-111. Early A-models used the TF30-P-1 engine. Most A-models used the TF30-P-3 engine with 12,000 lbf (53 kN) dry and 18,500 lbf (82 kN) afterburning thrust[20] and "Triple Plow I" variable intakes, providing a maximum speed of Mach 2.3 (1,450 mph, 2,300 km/h) at altitude.[78] The variant had a maximum takeoff weight of 92,500 lb (42,000 kg) and an empty weight of 45,200 lb (20,500 kg). 474th Tactical Fighter Wing – Deployed from Nellis AFB 428th Tactical Fighter Squadron F-111A (1968–1977) 429th Tactical Fighter Squadron F-111A (1969–1977) 430th Tactical Fighter Squadron F-111A (1969–1977) Triumphant Return: Linebacker Operations and Beyond (1972-1975) By 1972, the F-111A was thoroughly tested, technical issues had been resolved, and the aircraft was fully operational. The F-111A and its crews performed brilliantly and with great success during Operations Linebacker and Linebacker II. They struck heavily-defended enemy airfields and SAM sites. Between October 1972 and March 1973, F-111A crews flew over 4,000 combat sorties but lost only six aircraft in combat." =Viper=

Hey, I used LeL's cockpit as a reference and created new cockpit panels (INS NAV) for the WSO...Also changed the engines to 5 stage AB and afterburner effect...beautiful orange flames. Released that in version 2...uploading and waiting for Admin approval...

Very welcomed! Glad you like it! -
Hey LeL, Thanks for the nudge! Hey Antares, I used LeL's cockpit and data from the internet to update the WSO side of the cockpit. But, I couldn't figure out how to remove the WSO's radar hood for the F-111E...So, the F-111E cockpit looks like the F-111F, but at least it doesn't look like the F-111A. It's a start...another step... =Viper=

LOL,I know what you mean. I have little projects all over the place. Sometimes, I completely forget about them for months and rediscover them...heh heh heh....Some of FastCargo's F-111s have nose/side art...those were cool...I was thinking about creating specific birds. Some have names and history, but I may just be OCD'ing.... LOL =Viper=

Hi Antares, Great idea. I've seen other people do stuff with cockpits. I just started doing stuff with mods, baby steps for me still.... =Viper=

Hey Stephen! So, I separated the F-111Es from the F-111E/F pack, expanded it, and released it as it's own package. So the F-11E package includes the 55th, 77th and the 79th TFS! I got a list of the actual tail numbers and created ALL NEW tail number decals for the squadrons! I threw in the Desert Camo version of each squadron as well. Thanks and Enjoy! =Viper= Thanks Yakarov79! Glad you like it! Credit to the community! Sparkvark Nose-Art - is that a released package? =Viper=
