  1. Then I say again "hire more, some students or so (as it works here in Europe just fine)" (makes Willy Wonka face here) So TK starts writing the code from scratch everytime he makes new SF2 release? Interesting... Tell me then why it still does feel I am playing EAW over and over again Terrain LODs SupGen, these would help us understand the way new terrain engine works AKA how to build WORKING new terrain (mine test ones do not work as I expect them) See that part I wrote about EAW? The classic sim TK had huge part in bringing to life? Am I the only one who feels SF2 after all these years still has that gameplay scheme we know for 14 years (EAW player since 1998... for years!) One of the biggest problems with SF series, bugs aside is the fact Thirdwire's concept of gameplay has not evolved a bit from what EAW had. Same feeling to it, similar missions layout, similar, now in 2012 a joke approach to ground/sea warfare (remember tank battles in other 1998 title Janes' WW2 Fighters?) I could go on and on but prove me gameplay differs from ~1996 or so founding concept of playability TK had when he went to pick up and fix EAW? Oh, EAW had those cute little sprite guys running around from emergency landed Liberators, destroyed halftracks or buzzed churches, so point for 1998 title :grim: ...not to mention collidable destroyable 3D objects populating tiles. Talk about evolution. Ohhhh yes, ejecting pilots hinging on their parachutes. The thing that is sooo hard to implement in 2012 title!!! As for mobile game(s)... Does anyone really believes the man will develop new (as in another) engine for them with better terrains than PC DirectX 10/11 2012 titles of his have? IF the answer is no -then good luck on mobile market
  2. Sadly Diego is 100% right, the balance is gone for me. I don't think it's been there past several years as I look at it now
  3. same here, I still think Expansion pack 3 with Mirage F1 will be released this year, followed by mobile/tablet title(s) BUT I think expansion pack that revolves around one single aircraft (said Mirage) is quite a deal breaker for alot of customers. That more smells like more advanced DLC to me. Remember, Thirdwire planes do not have 6-axis clickable nextgen cockpits, real life avionics or systems operations etc like other sims (I use Flamming Cliffs 2 as the closest of titles to Thirdwire ones for comparisions purposes) also do we really need another expansion pack for GermanyCE map? The reason I ask is that map does look OLD. And no, I don't think Thirdwire's new reworked GermanyCE map (or any other map) is anything but a dream. Which kinda sucks given how undeveloped and crude the so called "new" terrain engine is and then is that whole "locking of Cats contents" issue I won't step into at the moment
  4. Voted NO sorry but as much as at the beginning I was supporting the DLC idea I no longer do. I supported TK with my money all the time past years, I thought the DLC is just a way to get fundings for some serious gameplay/realism fixes and additions Thirdwire was willing to introduced, fool me once shame on me Say it would be priced 5 bucks for redo of one of many A-4s we already have, something that would be 2-day job for one who has all the templates and 3D files? At this price I could buy TWO Rise of Flight planes, with quality of flight, damage models, exterior and interior finishing that eats TW planes for breakfast for example. Sorry for ranting, I'm really tired of this all, I expected TK would have balls to take this venue to a next level with series 2 (first release Dec 2008, current date May 2012, do the maths) what I have instead is game that basically, all the welcomed additions and inprovements aside, plays and feels the same as did 6 years ago. Or 7 I know the "indie developer" "one guy" excuse. Maybe it's f***ing time to hire someone else to do the job right?
  5. Happy Birthday Flo!
  6. break from modding and Strike Fighters 2 in general. Quite fed up with the series, but more with the man behing it. YES I say TK is incopetent and YES I think this series deserves better developer

  7. just like me playing TES I love that guy, his Battlefield-related series (BF4!!!) deserve all the internet awards Dunno why the link switched to previous movie, here's direct one:
  8. man, SF2 should be officially renamed to STRIKE FIGHTERS 2: VIPER SIMULATOR (sort of)
  9. Don, Dave, all the best for you! :drinks:
  10. It was low over horizont Daddy at that moment, still sort of reddish, I slightly desaturated and sharpened one pass the picure given the clouds, forests in the background and park trees foreground I couldn't wait for it to rise more though
  11. as seen from our new apartment's loggia, view to behold 300mm lens equivalent, f/22, ISO 400, 1/100 sec
  12. hmmm, try other height scale values on DEM import Coupi (too much orange)
  13. Happy Birthday Major Lee!
  14. Happy Birthday 3D Master!
  15. Coupi, you can merge two DEM files automatically in TE, these must be present in the TE folder to do so, it's easy. Based on your Long/Lat input and the coverage of the DEM files, TE automatically adds info from the next one after first one "runs out"
  16. BM time! spot the poor Flogger pilot chute?
  17. what Gepard said, it's great way to test specific map areas for terrain modders too, just place the IP waypoint (the square one) on the map where ou desire, after ALT-N (skipping) you'll be placed near that area, or instantl if ou have "air start" in our options
  18. wasn't that MLC forces one to MLU?
