  1. @Spinners: Lovely Breda pic
  2. same as me Brain, still no luck
  3. yes I tried Jules, but then it creates shell sub object materials I can't export into engine properly. And the automatic unwrapper is quite useless in the process texture-space wise. Used standard skylight with 2 bounces and 1.4 multiplier to make it less dark, still experimenting with it
  4. ok, I call officially Red River teammates AI the stupidest in all tactical fps history... grr!

    1. JediMaster

      JediMaster

Magnum's review over at SimHQ said that almost verbatim! Somehow they made them DUMBER than DR's!

yes I miss them the way they were in DR, irony, as I used to bitch about them then too

  5. I keed with the mandatory, relax people
  6. Dels, only one material per mesh, multimaterials are a NOGO. Yeah, seems I'll have to do this the hard way, combine the dials materials to one .tga file and remap the gauges, will give me 4 more slots for needed others. I usually prefer to have more smaller bitmaps than fewer large ones, but this seems to be the only way. Thanks
  7. RA had some ugly yet beautiful in their uglyness planes (yes I know how it sounds) My faw being good old MC.200 and G.50
  8. fixes few issues from verison 1.0, but no you computer won't blow up if you don't download it

  13. Great shots Gustav! Love the last one with Scooter
  14. By the way I'm doing some experiments with reflector sight that uses avionicss70.dll for WW2 planes...
  15. interesting Russo, I'm thinking about making switchable Soviet, Japanese gauges graphics for those. Luftwaffe ones are whole different story sadly (way different gauge meshes)
  16. Few gauges issues I have to term with, then it will be ready
  17. I tried yesterday, I tried today, no luck.. all I get is "There was an error attempting to upload the file. Please contact an administrator" Strike Fighters 2 section, Objects sub-section, file being zip some 2 MB in size, no attached screenshot (update to a modification)..? Erik..?
  18. when I decide it's ready, not sooner SH
  19. I hope the "generic" concept doesn't bother you that much?
  20. I hope so, used to in original Flashpoint anyway
  21. these have sort of damage models too...
  22. Have yet to encounter PLA in the campaign, and tried one of the quick mission with waves of enemies (the one with Chinook insertion), nice but right, the friendly AI... edit: I really really enjoyed Bad Company 2, to my own surprise in fact
  23. These are "generic, stand-in multiple planes usage" cockpits I worked on past few weeks for the late 30s light bomber maybe: (slowest priority right now) of all these are more advanced in modelling progress and have better functionality: All of the above were created as generic, bare some resemblance to the original real-life aircraft cockpits throught the late 30s to mid 40s (I think you can name at least two real life ones I based these on...) and made this way ON PURPOSE -so you won't be able to say "This is X cockpit used in Y plane", but "this is a cockpit that bares more or less resemblance to cockpits of A,B and C used in E,F,G planes". Got the idea? first three need more work, last two are good to go, all still WIP. Comments, suggestions welcome. No, I won't make cockpit "H" for "H" plane, I don't take requests, bribe me (and accurate Hawk 75 one is still in the works)
  24. Ok, I felt in love with Operation Flashpoint back in 2001, consider the Resistance addon script one of the best stories told in military/fps game so far. I was soo waiting for Arma, got hit in the face with it -the setting (desert and pine trees on the same map, really? couldn't they make something like THREE maps?) gameplay, campaign. Arma2 improved in these areas big time. But my system isn't soo good despite the patches, and few bugs remain. And I don't have time to hunt down the mods for it like I used too for OFP. OFP:Dragon Rising. Man I hated this one, yet played it to death. I like Skiria, I like the new units, I like the graphics and occasional gore (something BIS have yet to introduce, Brothers in Arms is the best at this but kinda sucks gameplay wise) So here is Red River. A-Stan. Ok, why not. Just seen Restrepo. I'm still in the second mission, but so far, so good. Ok, the brown filters and red sunlight many complain about could use some tunnig down, but overall it's quite enjoyable single player so far. A bit too much leaning towards the (Clancy's) abortion Ghost Recon AW was, but ok. The thing I had to deal with myself when Dragon Rising was released was to approach it as if James Gastovski, Victor Troska, General Guba, whole Operation Flashpoint never existed (quite difficult when it's written all over the box, right?). So I took it differently, dug out the fond memories of Novalogic (man, where are they???) Delta Force series -and you know what? Running Red River I see Delta Force Land Warrior on steroids -similar gameplay, similar large maps, similar fell it has. And it's ok for me. Just the title on the DVD box... Ok, could someone do the same with ye olde Vietcong franchise, but up-to-date graphics, leaving the gameplay as it was pleeease..? (OK, I hate the Red River intro. I don't like being threated like an analphabetic idiot. DR had great one, this plainly sucks)
