  1. same here Lexx... my other flightengine tweaks do work, like StartPaused=TRUE or maxtimecompression=16, but horizont distance and detailmeshsize seem locked away... hmm...
  2. that's scary
  3. one of the first "wow!" things that got me into the series back in 2005 was the fact that unlike many other simulators, indeed, every single bullet is being calculated. No, no tiny LODs travelling through the air AFAIK, but positions of every one are calculated
  4. I wonder if setting weapons difficulty to easy would gain performance..? Maybe something like disabling bullets drop could help?
  5. also, if the 3D guy is smart, he can map the model to use the existing skins
  6. modding and deliberately converting stock models to editable format are two very different things Stick
  7. given the fps drops by currently available bombers, I'd go with EAW-style low poly bombers... but in formations of 50+
  8. modyfying the stock models is matter of eventual lawsuit and ban from all TW-related forums I guess... side note: not true about Il2 modding community at all -they're ripping stock models apart without hesitation, tweak, modify and reupload
  9. do you know any terrain builder Kevin? To my understanding rebuilding old EAW WW2 terrain is not an option given the Mount Everest amount of issues with it..? Great skins indeed!
  10. I think the gunner AI might take a bit too much of processing resources..? Not to mention, discussed previously problem of lack of good lower-detail further LODs
  11. I started some work on late 109, but it'll take more than 2 weeks I guess I'll upload the above pit tomorrow -it's kinda ok stand-in for A-36 and others I guess
  12. Sweet! WW2 Pacific maps could have use of some treemodding...
  13. I had the same problem several days ago... In my case I forgot to click "attach"
  14. Infidel! The new tools are lovely! Cat extractor, guns and weapons editors are relly worth checking
  15. like this? strangely, exported to Series1 format but doesn't work ok, but works w/o problems in Series2
  16. great! FSX, right..?
  17. true, good level of details a must, large formations are literally a showstopper
  18. Have a great one
  19. Aircraft folder root..?
  20. Thanks to Kulbit80! I've found and used older TW exporter to, well, export the meshes to older Series 1 format, for those having both Series 1 and Series 2 WW2 installs (like me), available here: http://combatace.com/files/file/12022-ww2-generic-stand-in-cockpits-series-1-edition/ includes Spitfire-like cockpit corrections posted several posts back
  21. We'll be waiting Ed! Get well soon! There are unexpected twists we all have... and overcome in time!
  22. View File WW2 "generic, stand-in" cockpits -Series 1 edition Generic cockpits pack for WW2 installs (series 1 edition) by Stary June 5th 2011 This pack contains 8 "generic" World War 2 era cockpits for use in WW2 installs. Read the included readme for details on cockpits types and usage guides. This is "Series 1" .LOD format re-export of the cockpits pack I did for SF2 WW2 installs, tested in Wings Over Africa mod by A-Team (Wings Over Europe, October 2008 patch level, Windows7 32&64) Submitter Stary Submitted 06/05/2011 Category Prop and Helo Cockpits
  23. after many requests TK started adding (since First Eagles 2 back in Feb 2010) specular and normalmaps support to the models -in short -specular map sets the "reflectivity" (or glossines) of given part of the texture (black-white, black does not shine, white does) while normalmaps are bumpmaps adding fake 3d to the texture (panel lines, rivets etc, those funny cyan-magenta-blue bitmaps). I'm pretty sure now stock TW Spitfires do support both. Check the Object_XXX.CAT files for those Contact Julhelm, he's the actual expert in modern computer graphics
