Tunisia Terrain & Targets Upgrade For SF/WoV/WoE WW2 MTO mods
This started out as a simple targets upgrade, and turned into a major rework of Edward's Tunisia Terrain for WW2. As you can expect, the targets have been greatly 'enhanced', with many additions, and most areas have been retiled for ease of targetization. The visuals (ie: the eye candy) has been enhanced by these revamped target areas. This will allow single mission and campaign builders more latitude in their creation of missions and campaigns. It also has the side effect of enhancing in-game generated single mission play, too!
This is a COMPLETE terrain, designed to REPLACE the original verison in it's entirety. It is also NOT compatable with any other terrain retiling or TOD mods to the original terrain that are presently available. All necessary parts are included; tiles, inis, LOTS of new terrain items, with the excpetion for some 'permission-only' GroundObject items. All new planning maps are also included. Also, there are at LEAST 3 Easter Eggs on the map. There are also several brand new tiles, and their associated TODs (new city ports and some other interestering items).
There ARE some historical flaws (and probably physical geographic ones as well!!); they are fully detailed in the "Notes & Explinations" section below. You may also experience extended or longer than usual loading times; this is normal due to the shear number of terrain objects on this map.
The data ini has been upgraded to the semi-latest standards (ie: 2006 patch level). Water effects are active, so Vista users beware...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users". NOTE: this is NOT designed for the post-08 patch or SF2 "NextGen" series. The terrain's data ini does NOT have the new Height Data included!!! (however, that is easily added if you're familiar with the varous terrain data inis, and how to 'update' them).
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE WW2 WEAPONS PAK !! =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST, WW2 NATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST WW2 FORMATIONS INI IN YOUR FLIGHT FOLDER =
= MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GEO'S WW2 GROUND OBJECTS PAKS!! MOST IMPORTANT!!! =
It has been tested in 06 Patch Level WoE (my WW2 install of choice), using the cat pointer line to all the Origianl 3 Terrain Cats (Desert, GermanyCE and VietnamSEA). As most of the new terrain objects and tiles are residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. (see the CombatAce Knowledge Base for the tutorial on using the cat pointer line). It has NOT, however, been tested in post-08 SF/SFG/WoV/WoE/WoI or any of the SF2 'NextGen' series; it is NOT designed for useage in those type of game installs. If you choose to do so, expect NO support from me -- you're on your own. Although, it should work pretty well in most case. Some data ini adjustments will probably be required for the additional effects. Consult the SF2 Knowledge Base at CombatAce for more information on "how to.."
As always, it's reccomended you unzip this to a temp folder somewhere's thats easy to find. This will give you access to the rest of the readme for full, detailed install instructions and the Usual Notes and Other Ramblings...
Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. It's =HIGHLY= reccomended you read this document completly through before installing this mod.
Good Hunting!

Upgrade for America NorthWest Terrains: 4 Seasons Inclusive Build
-for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and maybe FE?
The original America Northwest Terrains; AmerianNW, AmericanNWinter and AmericaNWSpring, were released sometime back in 2003. They are exceedling FUN maps to fly on, as they are full of deep canyons and high mountain ranges. But...with the advent of the 9/08 patch for the entire 3rd Wire series, they can now be combined into ONE terrain, and with a few ini edits, allow for =ALL= 4 season to be present in ONE terrain folder. Seasonal changes are based upon the date a mission is flown, in single mission (month/day - year makes no difference), and probably in campaigns as well
This package includes ALL 4 seasons for Major Lee's "America NorthWest" series, combined. This package is designed to TOTALLY REPLACE =ALL= the original terrains, with one single install. Editing has been done to the all the inis, as per the latest patch standards. Included are also my targets and movements enhancements, as seen in a 8/07 upgrade, with some additions.
Included are the "Spring", "Summer" (by CA_Stary), "Thaw" (by Doghouse & Deuces), and "Winter" seasons as new subfolders of this rebuilt terrain. A new 'EnvrionmentalSystem.ini', that is terrain specific, was created that raises the cloud deck OFF the mountains. It's also super easy to edit, to allow for lower clouds, if that is your wish. You'll also find regional specific trees (pine) scattered across the landscape. It looks sooo much better with trees!!! :) For those looking for it, YES, there are more than a couple of Easter Eggs, as you've all come to expect.
While set in the "What If.." world of the Global Sedition vs the North American Alliance, it's quite usable for just about anything. =EXCEPTING= no anti-ship missions, as there's no large bodies of water for shipping routes. (see my pleas for retiling in the "General Notes and Other Nonsense" section below)
The movements ini has been expanded for more Armed Recon missions, with additional truck routes for both sides. Additonal targets have been added (one new city, airport and train stations for each side), and new Ground Attack routes for CAS missions. I added an oil field to the Alliance side, to give the Sedition forces something extra to bomb, and Alliance forces something to protect. I figure the story line would be "short on resources, the Global Sedititon is trying to capture the Salmon River Oil Fields and Elk Mountains Uranium Mines for their own". New country flags have been added (the 2 GS and Alliance flags are still here!) for NAA alllies - USA and Canada.
This has been tested in WoE (my main Laboratory of choice..) As it was originally built for SF, no worries there. WoV should also be no problem. It -should- work in WoI and First Eagles, but you'll still need one of the Original 3 Terrains for the terrain cat reacharound. This, however, has =NOT= been tested. You use it in these games at your own risk.
Vista users should also have no problem with terrain effects, as the latest round of patching has apparently cleared up that problem. And the fact that there's no water on this map.....
Included as well is FastCargo's SON-9A "FireCan" AA control radar, and some ini updates for a few of the stock "Red" AAA units, networking them to the FireCan.
PLEASE read this entire ReadMe all the way through before installing; there are some issues I've encountered that need some explaining, and this will give you a better understanding of what I've tried to accomplish.
Good Hunting & Happy Landings!!!

WW2 New Guinea 1942-43 Terrain by me. This Terrain is Full Scale.
Tiles by Microsoft CFS, FS, Wilson and Polak. Ground Objects by Kesselbrut, Geo and the A-Team. Static aircraft by the A-Team. Special thanks to Capun, Charles and Gramps for all their help and support.
To install just drop into your Terrain folder in your Strike Fighters Folder. To delete just remove the file.

Edward
American SouthWest Terrain, Version 2.0 for SF/WoE/ WoV and probably WoI, FE and SF2
This is a complete rebuild of the terrain originaly released in Feb 2008. It has been completely retiled, and has had a MAJOR upgrade in the targetization. It is designed to COMPLETELY replace that original version. It has been fully updated to use in the post-patch world.
This semi-fictional terrain represents Southern Texas and part of Northeastern Mexico (Tampilas/Monterrey) region, along with part of the western Gulf of Mexico. I use the term 'semi-fictional', as for the most part, the cities and airfields are relatively close to their real life locations, but some fictional target areas have been added for playability. I've designed this to be used in the alternative world of the "Global Sedition" vs the "North American Alliance"; it is, however, usable in any era from 1940-2040, with minor changes in the targets and types inis.
This is a COMPLETE package, with everything needed to just unzip, install, and fly over. All the tiles are included, including several (ie: MOST) repainted to a more 'lush' version. All new TODs have been created, so you'll see lots of trees and small buildings, including the 'skyscrapers' from Polak's city tod. Almost all the original Desert tiles have been repainted to more closely represent the semi-tropical/minimally arid region of the Texas Gulf Coast. Several rivers have been added, and they, for the most part, follow their Real Life courses across the region. The "look" of the terrain should be something between the stock 'Desert' and the overly green of say, Deuces Euro Repaint and/or the GermanyCE terrain. In other words, semi-arid, but with plenty of growing things.
It is reccomended (read: REQUIRED) that you have Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak installed in your GroundObject folder; either or both the Desert or Euro skinned vehicles, plus any additional vehicles such as Kesselbrut's ZIL truck pak, Infantry paks, Moonjumper's fix for the BM-14-16 (adds working Kytusha rockets) and any other SAMS or AAA, vehicles or whatever strikes your fancy. With such an 'open ended' time frame for use, any and all GroundObjects should be available for use.
It has been tested in SF, WoE and WoV, post 9/08 & 10/08 patch levels.. It should work in FE & WoI (also post Expansion Pak and Post Patch) with the correct cat pointer -- this has NOT been tested, however. It should also work in SF2, as long as you adjust the cat pointer lines in the main ini. Pre-patch users may have some issues due to the new way the Game Engine reads/creates height field measurments. Enough data exists in the CA forums for find the anwsers on how to fix it, if needed.
As you've all come to expect, there's a HIGHLY detailed readme with all the "data and materials" necessary to get you up and running. I'd suggest reading it first, after unzipping to a temp folder somewhere
Happy Landings!

This is Major Lee's America Northwest terrain mod with the winter tile set. I'm posting it because of all the requests I'm getting for it since Lee's site is still down and it's no longer available. The only changes to this terrain is the addition of some SAM sites and the sticky runway at Elk airfield being fixed. And it's been set up to be a complete stand alone terrain mod minus the CAT file. The Dogfight.ini file has been edited to make a better dogfight in multiplay action. Other than that it should all be original. I've tested this using the various CAT files in SF, WOV, WOE, and WOI in each of the games and everything seems to work fine. The following is a copy of the readme file that's contained in the zip which includes credits and install directions;
Doghouse Notes:
This is Major Lee's America Northwest Terrain mod, slightly edited. I have included my SAM site mod to it, and fixed the sticky runway problem at Elk airfield. I'm posting this at CombatAce because Major Lee's site is down and have been receiving a lot of requests from people to provide it. I've set the zip file up so installation should be a very simple process. This mod was originally done for Strike Fighters, but will work with the WOV, WOE and WOI cat file as well. I've set this up to be a new terrain, seperate from Lee's other versions, so you can have all of them in your terrain folder at once. This is Major Lee's work, please don't credit me with any of it.
Major Lee's Aerodrome

American Northwest training and development map (500 km x 500km).
TO INSTALL THE FILES: (Edited by Doghouse) (Back up any files you don't want to change permanently)
1: Extract the zip file. The appropriate terrain folder will be created.
2: If using Strike Fighters: Copy/Paste "desert.cat" from the Desert folder into the ANWwinter folder and rename "desert.cat" to "ANWwinter.cat".
If using Wings Over Vietnam: Copy/Paste "VietnamSEA.cat" from the VietnamSEA folder into the ANWwinter folder and rename "VietnamSEA.cat" to "ANWwinter.cat".
If using Wings Over Europe: Copy/Paste "GermanyCE.cat" from the GermanyCE folder into the ANWwinter folder and rename "GermanyCE.cat" to "ANWwinter.cat".
If using Wings Over Israel; Copy/Paste "IsraelME.cat" from the IsrealME folder into the ANWwinter folder and rename "IsraelME.cat" to "ANWwinter.cat".
3: Place that folder in your game's Terrain folder. You should be good to go.
TO USE IN-GAME:
Select Single Mission, "Create Mission" then under the Mission Map drop down list under section I, select "AmerciaNW Winter".
ERRATA:
There is no water, so don't select anti-ship missions.
There is no campaign; I welcome anyone who wants to please write one!
AI may have issues with the terrain at times.
You might have issues with the terrain too, especially if you select Inclement weather option...
This is a map meant that is meant to be somewhere fun to fly. It is also meant to be useful for prosepective modders to learn to write INIs and place objects.
If you develop an interesting INI for this map, please send it to me and I will post it at the Aerodrome for all to enjoy.
Please do not post this set at other websites.
Enjoy, Major Lee.
This is a modification (that was okay'd by Gepard) that adds more targets to his version 1.0 of the Afghanistan map. Right now it is technically a "beta" but it adds a few more targets, CAS areas to the map. Along the days I'll add more here and there, but is considered to be a seperate mod to his terrain.
README:
Simply extract and put it in the Afghanistan terrain folder, and allow overwrite.
Original work done by Gepard.
If you have suggestions or locations you may have added, please don't hesitate in contacting me.
1.5 Notes:
- With thanks to Gepard, Bagram has been upgraded to a LARGE airbase, allowing B-1s, B-52s or other bombers to take off. Remember that to takeoff without crashing, take off from the eastern side of the runway.
- Modern CAS designations. If you want to use more historic designations, scroll to the bottom of the _targets file and name away.
- More targets in more places, be prepared to fly to the interior. Most of the targets are still on the "ring" but a few inside.

FORMOSA STRAIT TERRAIN
=====================
I.
Formosa Strait terrain is made for "Wings Over Europe" WOE.
With certain limitations you can use it in WOV, WOI and SFP1 too.
(See PS on bottom of this file.)
==============================================
II.
Formosa Strait Terrain covers the island of Taiwan, a part of the coastline of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) and the Strait between which has different names like Formosa Strait, Taiwan Strait or Taiwanhaixia. All names i use are taken from an old german atlas and it seems to be that there are a lot of different transcriptions of chinese names in german or english language.
Formosa Strait Terrain is a nearly 100% terrain, what means, that the distances are not cut down to 60% as in the GermanyCE standard terrain.Certain differences are caused by warp while converting GOTOPO30 satellite height data into WOE format.
The position of the runways should be more or less correct, their direction is not always as in reality. The airfields themself are made by using variations of WOE standard airfileds and by using the 9 airfileds i made for Deutschland terrain.
Formosa Terrian has 233 target areas
this are
14 waypointdefinitions for panzer battles
2 missile bases (PRC)
6 coast defence missile batteries(PRC)
15 Bridges (PRC)
10 Bridges (Taiwan)
19 SAM sites (PRC)
14 SAM sites (Taiwan)
7 airfields (PRC)
15 airfields (Taiwan)
41 industrial targets in towns (PRC)
44 industrial targets in towns (Taiwan)
1 powerplant complex with 3 industrial areas (PRC)
1 power plant complex(Taiwan)
2 ports (PRC)
9 ports (Taiwan)
4 EWR (PRC)
5 EWR (Taiwan)
3 PRC Warship groups
4 taiwanese Warship groups
3 Carrier Battle stations
etc
To use Formosa Strait Terrain you should have installed a WeaponPack and western SAM.
You can fins HAWK SAM and WeaponPack at www.combatace.com

PS
Q: How i can get Formosa Strait Terrain running in WOV, WOI or SFP1
A:
1. Open file Formosa.ini
2. Look for line CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat
3. Replace this line with:
for WOV: CatFile=..\VietnamSEA\VietnamSEA.cat
for WOI: CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat
for SFP1: CatFile=..\Desert\Desert.cat
4. Download a WOE capable terrain replacement tileset via Internet. Such tilesets you can find at www.combatace.com
Limitations are caused by the fact, that certain objects which are standard in WOE (power plants, bridges) are not always included in WOV, WOI or SFP1.

IsrealME Terrain Upgrade for WoI
This is an expansion of WoI's stock "lsrealME" map, with the addition of Isreali Air Defense units. I've added them in what I believe to be a sensible, logical manner, defending large cities, airbase, factories & POL depots, army bases, and generaly trying to give the civilian population some kind of protection. I've also made sure the Isreali airfields have a "ActiveYear=0" for all their AAA positions; as the game will usually fill them with the nearly useless M-55 Quad 50. Adding other AA units is reccomended :) See next paragraph....
It is reccomended (read: REQUIRED) that you have Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak installed in your GroundObject folder; expecially the Desert skinned vehicles, plus any additional vehicles such as Kesselbrut's ZIL truck pak, Moonjumper's fix for the BM-14-16 (adds working Kytusha rockets) and any other SAMS or AAA, vehicles or whatever strikes your fancy. See "Items You'll Want to Get" below. I've also included several things from it, just because I like having these objects around in-game, as some a set to be used on the map (parked vehicles and such). There is even a new vehicle, the Tiran 4/5 MBT!
It is designed to use either the Bunyap or Mirage Factory Weapons Pak; some of the names for the IDF air defenses (ie: the HAWKs and their associated radars) and their 'arrangements', are taken from Nick Bell's 'NATO Air Defense Mod'; these are the names used for the 2 HAWK radars. In addition, I've included 2 new Infantry units - one generic Arab and one IDF, based off Kesselbrut's 'Infanty Squads'. I've replaced the RPG/LAW with an automatic rifle. I've also given you my fully updated gundata.ini and gundata.dat files, which have all the needed guns. I've also included the weapons data for the AT-3 'Sagger" anti-tank missile, so you'll be using the weapons editor -- make double damn sure it's the WoI one!!!
Remember - this is for WoI ONLY!!! It won't work on anything else!! So don't even think about tryin' it!!!
You all know the drill....I spent a good deal of time writing a real nice, informative, descriptive, step-by-step readme to aid in installing the package.....so read the cursed thing!!!!!! You know what they say....a man can get lost in that desert for 40 years...and no one would ever find him....
Happy Hunting!!!

Version 2.1
* problem of white squares of missing tiles is solved. Some computers in certain regions of the world were unable to understand the german umlaut Ü. Names of terraintiles are thatswhy changed.
* added a new version of Polaks great Pyramids and also placed 2 new big Temples on the map. Thanks for it Polak! You find them some kilometers north west of egyptian base Beni Suef.
* added an additional Oilfield on the Sinai
* added 36 new empty targetareas on the Sinai to support Campaignbuilders who can use this points as waypoints for a dynamic campaign
* included a folder English. In this folder you will find 2 files with translated targetnames. If you want to change the german terms into english ones, then copy this files into your Israel 2 folder. (I hope my translations are correct.)
Isreal 2 Terrain Upgrade for WoI -- Version 2.5
This update/rebuild is designed to REPLACE the one I released in March, 2008.
This is an extensive expansion of Gepard's "Isreal 2" full-scale map he made several years ago for Strike Fighters. What this will do, is allow its usage in WoI (or any of the other games, for that matter). There has also been a massive 'cleanup' of several of the additonal airfields as originally issued. I've removed, for the most part, all but one runway where there were mulitples.
Several new items have been added to the types ini, allowing the 1948-1967 timeframe for Historical missions and Campaigns in the Middle East region. This IS the full terrain =complete with tiles, tods, hm bmps in short, everything needed to correct pre-patch errors, and is designed to replace to earlier version, dated March 2008. This is updated to the latest standards, post 8/28/08 patch for WoI and WoV/WoE. This build repairs the sinking into the terrain, odd elevations and other funny business. Those still using SF will not benefit from this upgrade, and will not get the game generated parked aircraft.
It has been extensively upgraded, with new movement, targets and types ins. Water effects are active, so Vista users take note...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users" below.
Contraindicated: post-patch, the water effects for Vista users seem to be working.
It is reccomended (read: REQUIRED) that you have Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak installed in your GroundObject folder; expecially the Desert skinned vehicles, plus any additional vehicles such as Kesselbrut's ZIL truck pak, Infantry paks, Moonjumper's fix for the BM-14-16 (adds working Kytusha rockets) and any other SAMS or AAA, vehicles or whatever strikes your fancy. The SAMs are pretty important, as there are several batteries that call out for the SA-3 specifically, and the stock in-game SA-2s along the "SAM Fence" at the Suez Canal (although, they should be outside the historical year range I've designed it for this; call it a "backdated map"). As such, this map should be usable in the timeframes of 1948-2050.
Please note: the ground objects included in the March 2008 build are NOT included with this version.
It is designed to use either the Bunyap or Mirage Factory Weapons Pak; some of the names for the IDF air defenses (ie: the HAWKs and their associated radars) and their 'arranements', are taken from Nick Bell's 'NATO Air Defense Mod'; these are the names used for the 2 HAWK radars.
As stated above, it is =specifically= designed for use with Wings Over Isreal. It has -also- been tested in SF, WoE and WoV, but to have the proper feel, use it in WoI only.
Remember: this terrain IS designed with the 1948-1966 timeframe in mind; although there ARE many target areas still active for later years (ie: Canal SAM Fence, possibly the Cyprus airfields), but the WoI IsraelME terrain works best for 1967 and later years. As it was designed to.
As always, there's an extensive, highly detailed readme with step-by-step instructions. You all should know what to do by this point.
A (hopefully) full listing of contributors is in the readme...with my thanks for all their help.
Happy Landings!!!

srael terrain version 1.4 readme:
After unsuccessfull attempts to make Israel terrain in an 1:1 scale i decided to improve the smaller version a little bit.
I included now 110 target areas (29 more than in v1.3)
For instance:
I added 3 new egyptian airbases: Kairo West
Wadi al Jandali
and following a multiple wish of one single user: Beni Suef
2 new jordanian airfields: H-5 Prinz Hassan
Al Jafr
1 new syrian airfield: Al Suweidaja
The direction of airfield i changed in Ovda, Ben Gurion, Ramat David and El Arish, to meet the conditions of the terrain texture or terrain structure better. E.G. No starting against the mountains more in Ovda, instead starting in direction of the valley.
El Arish got an different airfield.
Al Mansura is moved some 100 meters to avoid trees on the runway.
I included a bunker line along the suez canal (Bar Lev line) and a israeli Radar warning line in the middle of Sinai.
Near Inshas, Tanta and Port Said barracks complexes i installed. Fuel or Oil Storage facilities are now in Suez and Port Said.
3 bridges over the river Nil are new. Some with the bridges corresponting Cities are now on the map.
The SAM fence along the Suez canal is now growing up in 1970 instead 1967 and will get his maximum efficency in 1973.
The Bar Lev bunkiers will come in 1968 and the israeli airfileds in Sinai (El Arish, Bir Gifgafa, Bir Tamahada and Sharm es Sheik) are active from 1968.
The egyptian ponton bridges come in 1973. etc
This started as a post by Aladar on the SIMHQ forum and quickly turned into what I would consider a very important add-on for Strike Fighters. The difficulty in weapon delivery for this era screamed for an area for virtual pilots to practice and hone their A2G skills.
There are two versions of the terrain, one for friendly aircraft called Bombing Range and one for enemy aircraft called Red Range. Both are installed when you run the installation program. It is important to remember that only friendly aircraft such as NATO forces can be flown on the Bombing Range and only enemy aircraft such as Soviet forces may be flown on the Red Range.
The Range Terrain consists on an airfield and main range complex. A variety of targets are available for bombing. Intercept missions against a drone aircraft are available when flying the included pre-built single missions.

Canary Islands Terrain -for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and maybe SF2 & FE?
This is a small map mod that was sent to me, partly started, by Crusader (IIRC) . I went ahead and targetized it, did some minor retiling (including creating a new "DesertAB1" tile for use under the runways), and generally did what I could to finish it off.
This is a VERY small map, I'd guess in the 250x250 km range, so there is a distinct possiblity of running into The Wall. Hopefully, I've gotten all the movement routes well within. If there is, or anyone knows of a way to expand it.....do let me know and I'll targetize the other islands....
The data ini makes use of all the latest 'goodies' added by the 9/08 & 10/08 patches as to effects rendering. Included are new targets, types, movements inis and tiles. Everything is included to make install as easy as possible. Even the GroundObjects used are ALL stock types, so nothing new has been added. One thing, however, there are NO SAM sites on either side. Given the small size of the map, one could find himself under fire from wheels up to whereever you're going!
Several new flags have been added; the Spanish flag and for the 'enemy' side, I just reused the "Global Sedition" banner. However, 2 new ones have been added for the Bad Guys ... consider them the 'Easter Eggs' for this terrain.
This has been tested in WoE (my main Laboratory of choice..) As it was originally built for SF, there should be no problems . WoV should also be no problem. It -should- work in WoI and First Eagles, but you'll still need one of the Original 3 Terrains for the terrain cat reachback. This, however, has =NOT= been tested. You use it in these games (WoI & FE) at your own risk.
For SF2 users ... don't know what you to tell ya...you're on your own!
Vista users should also have no problem with terrain effects, as the latest round of patching has apparently cleared up that problem. If, however, you've not patched your game install, I've left the "Notes for Vista Users" section intact, with instructions on commenting or editing the shaders sections.
Happy Landings!

This terrain mod is designed to COMPLETLY replace the version I released in 2008; however, you will probably need some of the Ground Objects included in that pak.
This semi-fictional terrain represents the Southern California region, along with parts of Nevada, Northern California, Arizona, Baja Mexico and various and sundry parts in between. I use the term 'semi-fictional', as for the most part, the cities and airfields are relatively close to their real life locations, but some fictional target areas have been added for playability. As close as I can, I've tried to match the actual positions of cities, air bases, etc, and used their actual names. Considering that I live in Los Angeles, and have been to a LOT of the places depicted.... This is a very heavily populated map, a heavily defended map, with all kinds of eye candy, plus LOTS of "Easter Eggs". A repainted version of airfield 3 (the dirt strip) is also included; ala Fubar's version, it's been paved over.
I've designed this to be used in the alternative world of the "Global Sedition" vs the "North American Alliance". It is, however, usable in any era from 1940-2040, with minor changes in the targets and types inis.
It is based on USAFMTL's SCal map from his Top Gun mod from several looong years ago.
This package contain just about everything you'll need, from new inis, HFD & TFD, tiles -including a whole bunch of new ones, and their associated TODs- LOTS of new fixed terrain objects (destroyed buildings of all flavors).
It has been -almost- completly rebuilt, with the creation of briefing, movement, a completely NEW targets and types ins, and upgrading the data ini to the latest standards. Water effects are active, so Vista users take note...more information for you is below in the Install Instructions. See "Notes for Vista Users", below, if you're using an unpatched version(s) of the games.
It has been tested in SF, WoE and WoV. It should work in FE & WoI with the correct cat pointer -- this has NOT been tested, however. It should also work in SF2, as long as you adjust the cat pointer lines in the main ini.
As to be expected, there's a pretty detaile readme enclosed -- so read it first after unzipping and before installing. Vital instructions, and so forth and so on inside that'll make things a bit easier for you.
Happy Landings!

Afghanistan Terrain Beta 0.6
========================
I.
AFGHANISTAN Terrain IS MADE FOR WINGS OVER ISRAEL (WOI) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This package is a work in progress preview. It should allow you a short view into this project. It is far away to be finished. Also, dont worry if you find bugs.
***************************************
II.
From December 1979 till now Afghanistan is a land in war. Soviets, Dushmans, Mudjahedin, Warlords, Taliban and Americans (OEF) destroyed the once florish land nearly completly.
This terrain is dedicated to all man who fought in this country and to all who lost their lives in a senseless war.
*****************************************
III.
Afghanistan terrain is a Beta, so far, that not the entire land is covered at the moment. Finished, or nearly finished is the area around Kabul, Bagram, Jalalabad, Kunduz and Mazar i Sharif. This area is now completly tiled and the target areas are set.
So you can fly and fight along the Jala Road and surrounding mountains and in the north eastern part of Afghanistan where today the German ISAF sector is situated. You will find enemy positions in the hills and valleys north of Bagram, but also single bandit troops on the soviet/allied hold lowlands. You will find friendly and enemy fortified hill positions
- number of set target areas: -90
- Missions which can be flown are CAS, Armed Recon, Recon, Strike,SEAD
-Air to air missions are impossible, because no taliban airfield is set (as historical correct)
-I recommend a seperate installation of WOI for Afghanistan terrain. The new nations.ini would otherwise make trouble with other terrains. (I set all nations = friendly, only Afghanistan= Enemy
So you can fly for the Soviets and the OEF troops( USA,UK,NL etc) against the same Enemy)
You can delete not needed planes (for instance Mirages) and groundobjects (SAM, Radar, most tanks etc) and you can include needed planes, like the Mi-24 or the A-10 more easily.
-Panzers, like T-54,55,62 etc should be redesignated from TANK to ARTILLERY in their groundobjects data.ini. The reason is, that Panzers are widely useless in such a mountainous land. With the groundobjects i have included in this package you will have infantry engagements which are more Afghan style

IV.
INSTALLATION:
-Unzip the file into your Wings over Israel
Thats it!
If you want then you can place mainscreen.bmp into your menu folder.

Modern Darwin Terrain Ver 2.0
for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE & SF2/SF2:V/SF2:E
UPDATED to Version 2.0 6/11/09
This is a rebuild of MY rebuild of Edward's WW2 Pacific Theatre map of Northern Australia, Timor, and parts of Indonesia. This moves it up into modern-ish times; the operational time frame I've designed it for is apporximately 1950-2050. Modern place names have been used were needed (and discoverable!). It has been extensively updated for Post-08 Patch Level installs for the Classic Series {herein after to be known as "TOS"}, and is usable in the New Series {herein after to be known as "NextGen"}.
The Update is designed to COMPLETLY replace the earlier version I'd released some years ago, and is a COMPLETE terrain with just about everything needed for installation.
It has been extensively re-tiled, with the addition of MANY parts from the WoV "GreenHell" mod by Brain32 & CA_Stary, while still using ONLY the original stock tiles (in other words, TODs for the jungle/paddy/grass. City TODs are still the stock ones, due to target placements within the cities) . The target areas have been 'cleaned up' and enhanced, including some that are of a 'fictional nature' to enchance gameplay. The movement ini has had some additions for CAS missions on Timor., The data ini has also been brought up to present (post-08) standards, with all effects activated. For mission and campaign builder, 2 Friendly Carrier stations have been added.
I've included several new ground objects, mostly to replace some that have gone missing from General Usage . Included are 1 new destroyer, 2 1/2 aircraft carriers, and some other things. (I say 2 1/2 carriers, as one, HMAS Australia, is just ini edits to create a "What If..." for the RAN). There's also quite a few surprises ... so keep a sharp eye out, especially when flying near coastlines/ports at night ...
*NextGen users take note -- you =MAY= be making data ini adjustementst for use in SF2/SF2:V/SF2:E. I've experienced NO anomalies during testing. Your mileage may vary*
**SF/SFG/SF2 Only users take note: you will be missing 2 of the naval vessels; the SumnerFRAM2 destroyer and the SCB-125 Essex class aircraft carrier. You will have to import the various and sundry bits from WoV or Post-08 Patch WoE. Or find "other alternatives". Or switch to WoE/WoV as your main gaming install.
It is also suggested (read: REQUIRED!!) you have the latest weapons pak installed for the various guns, SAMs, and whathaveyous. This is mostly for the ships, and air defense units --this is MOST critical for NextGen SF2 series users!!!! Any additional Ground Objects you can get your hands on, is also HIGHLY reccomended!! (Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak, Kesselbruts Zil Trucks, you get the idea...)
As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It is also HIGHLY reccomended you read this document ALL the way through to get an understanding of what's to be accomplished, and how to do it.
Happy Landings!!

Southern California Terrain (Rebuilt) for SF, WoE & WoV

It is based on USAFMTL's SCal map from his Top Gun mod from several long years ago.
This package contain just about everything you'll need, from new inis, HFD & TFD, tiles (used by the kind permission of Deuces), LOTS of new fixed terrain objects (destroyed buildings of all flavors)
It has been -almost- completly rebuilt, with the creation of briefing, movement, a completely NEW targets and types ins, and upgrading the data ini to the latest standards. It has been tested in SF, WoE and WoV. It should work in WoI with the correct cat pointer -- this has NOT been tested or supported.
READ the enclosed readme for fully detailed, step by step install instructions. A large notes sections is supplied for Vista users on the graphics issues, instructions on which cat pointer to use; installation of the included items, which additional, non-supplied item you'll need; plus general and sundry comments by me. A full listing of credits is also included thanking all.

Libya Terrain Upgrade, Version 3.0 -- For SF/WoV/WoE and probably WoI/FE/SF2
Ok, I know, I know...I said I'd NEVER go back to this terrain, but since the 2.0 FINAL was released I've learned a bit more on how to use the Terrain Editor...to wit:
There has been extensive retiling of many of the major areas on the map, replacing LOTS of mismatched or ill-fitting tiles. The entire coast of North Africa, from Tunisa to the Libyan/Egyptian border and been completely retiled with matching units. Sicily and Greece, and the 'boot' of the toe of Italy have also been extensively retiled. Approximately 75% of the map tiles have been replaced -BY HAND!!!!-, making a much smoother and better looking map. Unfortunately, a couple of the target areas required small location adjusments, so that had to be corrected as well.
Included in the package are new HFD, TFD, data and targets inis. The data ini has been fully updated to make use of the terrrain effects as per the 9/08 & 10/08 patches. Adjustments to sea level and uping the Alpha Object count have also been implemented in the data ini. Some trees are around, but not as many as I'd like.
You =MUST= have the orginal Libya 2.0 terrain to make use of the Update Pak. It's available in the CombatAce download section at the following url:
http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6652
The targets ini in this pak includes the "Targets Hot Fix", and the new planning maps from that package. So, don't worry if you don't have the Hot Fix pack.
So, really...consider this the Ultimate Final Version....I'm NOT going back to it again. Promise!!
= This has been tested in WoE (my main Laboratory of choice..) As it was originally built for SF, no worries there.
As usual, there's more relatively simple install instructions in the enclosed readme. So, give it a once over...
Happy Landings!

New Airbases for SFP1 / WOE
v. 3.0
*************************
1: This is an update of version 2.0 to make the airfields compatible with the October 08 patch.
The other rason to make a new version is that Capun requested to remove his files from this mod. Thats pity, because his static aircrafts were a nice feature of my airfields.
****************************************
2. This is the release of the 10 new airbases for WOE.
The bases are:
GDR (East Germany) Drewitz
Holzdorf
Marxwalde
Preschen
Trollenhagen
Zerbst
FRG (West Germany) Ahlhorn
Büchel
Hopsten
Pferdsfeld
All bases i made by using satellite pictures to place the groundobjects to become a look that is similar to the original airbases.
***************************************
3. INSTALLATION instruction:
Be carefull! Backup of your _targets.ini and _types first!
1. Unzip all files into your Terrain/GermanyCE folder.
Thats all
*****************************************
4. A word to modders
In the folder "Airfields raw files" you find 10 txt files.
Each file containes the lines of one airbase. So it is easier for you to copy this unique airbases for use in other terrains target_data.ini file..
******************************************
5. Final words.
I want to say thank you to Enrico Gennari who made the runway, parking areas and taxiway files. I also want to say thank you to the unkown guy who made the basic file for the GFD-12 shelters which i have taken from EuroWW2 terrain.
*****************************************************
This airbases are freeware and are not allowed for commercial use.
I hope you enjoy it.

Here is Major Lee's ANW green terrain. I've set this up to be a stand alone terrain also. To install, unzip the file and copy a terrain.cat file into the newly created ANWgreen folder, renaming the cat file to ANWgreen.cat. Then place the ANWgreen folder in your Terrain folder. You should be good to go. Again, please don't credit me with any of this, the terrain is ALL Major Lee's work.
I've been having problems uploading files to CombatAce for some reason, they keep crapping out on my. If you don't see a screenshot with my uploads, that's a good indication it's a bad upload. Hopefully CA will get this problem figured out, in the meantime I'll keep trying to get them posted.
