    2. Turkish Air Force F-104S CB for SF2

Turkish Air Force F-104S CB v1.1 for SF2
Turkish Air Force looking to reinforce its fleet after the Cyprus operations, ordered F-104S Starfighters in 1974. Aeritalia built and delivered two batches for a total of 40 aircraft. The first were received in December 18, 1974. These F-104S aircraft were of the CB bomber variant and all of them kept their guns.

    3. SF2 Su-24 Fencers

      SF2 Su-24 Fencers

This mod package contains a collection of Su-24 Fencers, all converted and updated to SF2 standards. Included in the package are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft in this package.

These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.

Those familiar with Lindr2's Su-24 Fencer Pack for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated package simply builds on his earlier efforts.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

To install, simply drag the \Flight, \Objects, and \Sounds folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to). By default your Mod Folder should be located here:

      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\

...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to. If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Aircraft & Nations Included
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The following aircraft are included in this package:

      Su-24M2 Fencer-D
      Su-24MK Fencer-D
      Su-24MP Fencer-F
      Su-24MR Fencer-E

      The following nations are represented:

      USSR
      Ukraine
      Iraq
      Libya
      Syria

For more information on the differences between these various versions, see the documentation included in \_OriginalReadMes.

This package largely consists of work done by others and released previously in other packages. All I did was assemble the package, update the bits to SF2 standards, and make minor adjustments and tweaks here and there (discussed above).

    4. Yak-25M & K "Flashlight" for SF-2

      Yak-25M & K (true SF-2 standard, last patch ready)

Here I (skins, decals) and Spillone104 (data edits, sound, weapons) upgraded old but gold Pasko's Yak-25 for SF-2 and made it more historically correct.

References from Y.Gordon Aerofax fantastic book Yak-25/28.

      So we have now:

Yak-25M only guns radar interceptor (6 skins) [historical standard]

Yak-25K no guns* missile interceptor (2 skins) very small serie,
      quite experimental plane.

(*) They were removed but not their shapes. BTW You have an optional data.ini, just for fun with guns, too.

new 3 digit old numbers, 2 digit numbers (red, blue and yellow series taken from EriKgen Tu-128 and edited)

To install: all in mod folder, as usual.

      Original Readme included.

      Take care.

      Paulopanz

NB: In screenshot You can see the weathered skin, with radar radome free from nose paint.

    5. Type 77/Type 77 Late Fishbed, IAF

HAL Type 77/77 Late Fishbed, Indian Air Force

      =For SF2, Full-4 Merged

** May Also require Expansion Pak 1, or whichever gave us the 21FL, who's body is used for this mod ** (I disremembe which!!) **

      From the India/Pakistan Mod.

This is the MiG-21FL as used/produced by HAL for the Indian Air Force. There are 2 full versions of the aircraft in this package, both the Early and Late models. This is a nationalized, single-user version that will create 2 new seperate aircraft for your enjoyment.

The 77 (early) has 7 skins, and the Late has 3. All decals/serial numbers are 100% historically correct for this model.
A new weapon, an several "other items" are added - the GP-9 gun pod, and some other 'goodies' added via the FakePilot method for the 77Late.

This package is the compliation of work by many talented people -- they are in the text file called "ori-readme.txt" by PauloPanz. You'd do well to read it, and thank them. I just assembled this package.

The canopy is activated via a manual animation key (use shift/0 to open and close it). The only thing NOT included are hangar screens ... I can't find them! (use a generic Fishbed one if you have too!)

As always, fairly easy to follow, highyl detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

With thanks to my teamates from the India/Pakistan Mod!!

    6. Type 74 Fishbed, Indian Air Force

Type 74 Fishbed-D, Indian Air Force

      =For SF2, Full-4 Merged

** May Also require Expansion Pak 1, or whichever gave us the 21FL, who's body is used for this mod ** (I disremember which!!) **

      From the India/Pakistan Mod.

This is the Type 74, a variant of the 21FL, as first used by the Indian Air Force. This was their first supersonic aircraft (and their first Fishbed), and bears the marking of No. 28 Squadron, "First Supersonics"
All decals/serial numbers are 100% historically correct for this model. (just wish there was more of them...)
A new weapon, the GP-9 gun pod from the Type77 mod, is included. All other weapons used at stock. (historcally, first used on this mark)
A new avionics ini is included with an audio-only RWR and a radar-ranging gunsight.
This mod creates a single-user 'nationalized' version for the IAF. Even though a userlist is included, the data ini has been adjusted such that it's not Exported, and is assigned India as the only nation user.

This package is the compliation of work by many talented people -- they are listed in the Credits secion below. You'd do well to read it, and thank them.

The canopy is activated via a manual animation key (use shift/0 to open and close it). The hangar screen is a 'generic Indian Fishbed' type, having more than 1 variant shown

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

    7. F7U-3M Cutlass by Marcfighters

      Vought F7U-3M Cutlass (by Marcfighters)
      - For SF2 (Any and All, but Full-4 Merged Prefered) -

This is an upgrade to the F7U Pak I released in 2008, and like the original, still a sort of Beta (Minus). This is simply because the aircraft model is/was NOT finished by Marcello. Details as to this rating are enumerated in the 'ori-2008_f7u_readme.txt' included.

It's suggested for a Full-4 merged, although it can be used in any version that has access to the F-4B, as that cockpit is referenced, and the A-4's 300 gallon drop tank. These should be available in all versions, perhaps excepting SF2I, as that lacks the F-4B as stock.

Several ini tweeks move this a little closer (well, in that respect) for SF2. For the change list, see the "Notes" section below.

      2 skins/decal are included:

VA-116 (Gull Gray/White, from the original pak)
      VF-124 (new, in 'natural metal')

I've also included the skin templates, just in case someone might want them (and IMPROVE them!!). Also included is the AIM-7A Sparrow & AIM-9A Sidewinder from the GunnyPak (in case you ain't go it). All other weapons/drop tanks used are stock in-game items.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... I've also included my original readme from the 2008 release -- might want to give a read. It states what's what with this, and why it's classed as a "Beta Minus" release, even now. So, again, please read it.

    9. A-4L Skyhawk by Crab_02 & Column5

      A-4L Skyhawk, VC-13 "Fighting Saints" Skin/Decal Pak
      = For SF2 (Full-4 Merged Prefered) and/or SF2:V =

*Can be used in any install that has access to the A-4C_65, which is stock in all merged installs, excepting a stand-alone SF2:I. However, it does use the A-4E_67 Cockpit and Avionics ini, which is only availabe in SF2:V. Hence, the 'Full-4 Merged' tag is applicable*

Complete overhaul of the A-4L Skyhawk as originally released in 2004 by Crab02 and Column5. For historical purposes, their original readme is included.
This mod makes use of all stock, "in-game" items, excepting for the avionics hump.

All inis have been updated to the latest patch level (August, 2011); the loadout ini has some minor changes for a couple of mission profiles. The data ini has had the landing light added, and (of course!) the canopy activated, via manual animation. Use shift/0 to open and close it.
All 'standard' Skyhawk mission profiles are retained.
The avionics hump has been converted to a 'pilot seat' using the fake pilot method (the FakePilot is also supplied, just in case). The mid fuselage upper light position has been adjusted to match that on the hump.
A new SF2 style hangar screen jpg is also included
Decal randomization has been set to "TRUE", so be at least at whichever patch level gave this to us.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them ....

If you have the DLC A-4L from Third Wire, do NOT download this mod. It will cause major conflicts. They should not be mixed in any way!!!
If you do NOT have the 3W DLC A-4L, this is safe for your use.

    10. Mikoyan MiG-21PFM 'Fishbed-F' Mongolia

MiG-21PFM 'Mongolian People's Republic' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of the stock MiG-21PFM to give a 'Fishbed-F' in service with the Air Force of the Mongolian People's Republic. I've added an extra 'M' to the designation to keep it separate from the true MiG-21PFM but by all means just add the skin and decals to your standard MiG-21PFM.

      I was inspired to do this by the outstanding photographs at the following;

      http://forums.airsho...php?f=40&t=4634

      Please check it out!

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the MiG-21PFMM folder into your Aircraft folder.

      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the MiG-21PFMM folder into your Decals folder.

    11. Cessna O-1E BirdDog Upgrade Pak -for 3rdWire O-1E-

      Cessna O-1E BirdDog Pak -for 3rdWire O-1E-
= For SF2, Any and All

= Please Note: this is =NOT= a full aircraft mod. The LOD files are =NOT= included, as they are propritery of 3rdWire, and cannot be shared. So ... you =MUST= have one of the original 1stGen games - SFP1, WoV or WoE to extract the 4 needed LOD files from their Objects.cat. Instructions are in the 'To Install' section. =

This is a major overhaul of the stock, 1stGen O-1E BirdDog with a new, functioning cockpit, 4 skins and all new historically accurate serial numbers (albeit generic in nature, representing no particular unit; even the Canadian ones)

      The skins are:

      RCAF/CF CO-119 by ext (iirc)
      OD Green by ???
      USAF white (stock)
Pakistani Army Green (based on above, from Indo/Pak mod)

The RCAF/CF skin has all new decals, matching those used by Canada (*please seen "Notes" below for more on the CF serials*).
The OD Green skin from ?? has the "US Army" tag remade new, replacing that from my ancient L-19 mod, that was in the wrong font.
The USAF skin uses stock decals, as it has always done (F-100 serials).
Basically, other than stock National Insigia (and serials on the USAFWhite), all decals are new.

The cockpit is based off Kesselbrut's Yak-3 pit, HEAVILY modified to fit the O-1, with gauges repainted and converted/recalibrated to US standard (knots & feet). Some gauges do not work properly, but this is the closest we have (or more truthfully, the best I could
find). Lots of moves and other tweeks to both the data and cockpit ini make it fit like it kinda sorta shoulda.

Decal randomization is set to TRUE, so be at least at whichever patch level gave that to us.
The aircraft uses stock HVARs, but for fun I've included the M-60 underwing machine gun. So you can shoot stuff up. A revamped version of the 7.62mm M-60 gun is also included. A new Userlist.ini is supplied, with most of the Dog's users.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them -CAREFULLY-!! .... Also, see the "Notes" section for Vitally Important Information ™. Seriously ... you NEED to read it. In fact, after unzipping, you might want to read this document through before installing.

    16. Tunnan Festival

      J-29A, A-29B, J-29E, J-29F, S-29C

      Quite a 'Tunnanpedia'.

Here You will find all Tunnans versions in one pack.

A plenty of silver, green, camo, austrian & UN skins.

You will need (as for my Vampire 50, Viggens and all other incoming Swedish mods) last squadron.ini to work.

A sample UN mission 'Kamina Dawn' is also included.

Spillone104 helped me in data.ini tweak and as usual
added proper sound (thank You my friend).

      Note:

The model we have made by Phlerp is an 'F' with sawtoothwing, IRM rails, and afterburner

The 'E' was easy to make: same plane without rails and burner.

For the 'C' that had the new wing of 'E' & 'F' as an upgrade, all the guns and pylons except the tank ones were removed.

For 'A' and 'B' we changed the wing as much we can. We cannot full remove the sawtooth.

[i mailed Phlerp to finish the work making these types as stated in original readme.]

Waiting for him (I hope I will answer one of these days) we can use them in great Operation Isbjörn and enjoy.

Thank You all for Your interest in those little, great barrels (i.e. barilotti, vero Alex?)

    17. Mig-15UTI Midget by Pakso, SF2 Updated Pak

MiG-15UTI "Midget" Jet Trainer by Pasko, for SF2
      =For SF2, Any and All (but Full-4 Merged Prefered/Reccomended)

Modification, tweeks, compilations and other adjustments to Pasko's MiG-15UTI trainer, to bring in more in line with SF2 requirements.

Data ini tweeks include an all new FM, based off the stock 15bis; please note that as that is usually an AI-only aircraft, there may be some small issues. Fly accordingly.

Several skin/decal sets have been compiled from the Archives, to try and present as complete a set as possible. Included skins are:

      Soviet Silver
      EAF Silver
      LSK Silver
      Mozambique (a pale blue)
      Desert camo (Iraqi)

Also included are the weapons (ok, the slipper-style drop tank), 'Early MiG' pilot figures and M15 seat, and the VK-1 sound. New Post-Oct patch SF2 hangar screens are included, rebuilt from the original 2004 release version. As expected, the canopy still operates via the standard or garden variety manual animation keystroke -shift/0.

Is should be noted, that most of the original work was done by suhjake, and is taken from his MiG-15bis & 15UTI pack from 2009 (available here at CA). I just did a little fine tuning and compiling. THIS pak replaces the UTI from that one.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! As always, the usual "Notes" section for other interestering details and stuff.

      Happy Landings!

    18. Aero L-29 Delfin "Maya"

In the late 1950s, the Soviet Air Force was seeking a jet-powered replacement for its fleet of piston-engined trainers, and this requirement was soon broadened to finding a trainer aircraft that could be adopted in common by Eastern Bloc air forces. Aero's response, the prototype XL-29 designed by Z. Rublic and K. Tomáš first flew on 5 April 1959, powered by a British Bristol Siddeley Viper engine. The second prototype was powered by the Czech-designed M701 engine, which was used in all subsequent aircraft.

The basic design concept was to produce a straightforward, easy-to-build and operate aircraft. Simplicity and ruggedness were stressed with manual flight controls, large flaps and the incorporation of perforated airbrakes on the fuselage sides providing stable and docile flight characteristics, leading to an enviable safety record for the type. The sturdy L-29 was able to operate from grass, sand or unprepared fields. Both student pilot and instructor had ejection seats, and were positioned in tandem, under separate canopies with a slightly raised instructor position.

In 1961, the L-29 was evaluated against the PZL TS-11 Iskra and Yakovlev Yak-30 and emerged the winner. Poland chose to pursue the development of the TS-11 Iskra anyway, but all other Warsaw Pact countries adopted the Delfin under the agreements of COMECON.

    20. RF-84F Thunderflash Superpack

      Discussion and screenshots here

      NOTICES :

This mod is NOT released under the Combat Ace Freeware Licensing Agreement (http://combatace.com/topic/55729-freeware-licensing/) as it includes content NOT subjected to it.

      The only content you can reuse freely following the CA Freeware Licensing are the SKINS and DECALS as they are my creation based on freely released template or from scratch;
For all the rest you MUST contact the original author beforehand.

      ----------------------------------

      PREREQUISITES :

To my knowledge you only need SF2:E, however you might also need the Exp2, if you have finflashes not showing, just tell me and I'll include mine rather than using TW's.

This should work without trouble with NATO Fighters 5 (however the versions already included in NF5 have a slightly different file organization and naming convention).

This mod should not rewrite anything except itself and the relevant campaign files.

      ----------------------------------

      GLOBAL NOTES :

All planes marked with a * in the numbers list are considered historically correct, all others are as correct as sources allow, at worst they come from the pool of planes available to the nation in the given timeframe and bear possibly existing squadron numbers.

There's a topic on CA (http://combatace.com/topic/68436-rf-84f-thunderflash-request-for-information-and-superpack-wip/) tracking my progress and meant to receive any feedback and information you might want to share.

      ----------------------------------

      NOTES FOR 1956 :

The Suez and Norwegian skins are bonuses and not useful for a Europe '56 campaign.

I initially planned of including slightly anachronistic camouflage versions for Belgium and Netherlands, however, given the time needed for the operation and the fact that the campaign takes place in the heart of winter, camouflage would have made no sense.

If you feel the need to properly install the Squadrons, you should add the following to your SQUADRONLIST.INI (if they squadrons are not already there), but everything is set up to work without it.

      -----

      FRANCE, SUEZ

All serial numbers involved in Suez are correct, 8 squadron numbers are attributed to the proper plane, 3 were used at Akrotiri but randomly assigned, the rest are randomly chosen from the most probable squadron numbers at the time.

      FRANCE

French RF-84F in late 1956 would have been stationned at Cognac, but would probably have been detached in Alsace or Germany in case of conflict, one squadron relieving the previous, given the involvement in Operation 700 and the readiness of the squadrons in late 1956, the order of detachement would have been ER 2/33 first then ER 3/33 and finally ER 1/33 (remember, the last planes reached France from Cyprus in late December, and the last ground personnel and equipment in early January 1957, so even accounting for a rushed move, the attrition of planes and personnel would mean they'd probably take no part in the conflict unless it lasted into the Spring of 1957).

      US

3 or 4 stripes of different colors denote a plane assigned to the Wing Commander, 2 stripes or the same color to the Squadron Leader and 1 stripe to a Flight Leader.

      ----------------------------------

      OPTIONAL ASSEMBLY REQUIRED :

These planes are meant to use specific pilots however this is strictly optional, if you don't add them, the game will use the default pilot, so it's only a matter of adding more pilot variety and a more authentic feel to things.
To respect the LOD author's wish not to have a situation where his work might be unknowingly used without proper attribution or worse you'll have to download the pilots separately or as part of the packs in which they are bundled.

All are based on Old Diego's pilot, with skins by Corktip14 for the French version, ravenclaw_007 for the German ones.

For USAF and ROCAF planes, you'll need the KUSAF01 pilot from Diego's pilot pack : http://combatace.com/files/file/9197-diegos-pilot-pack/
For French planes, you'll need the Guen312 pilot from the Israel 48/56 mod : http://combatace.com/files/file/11024-1948-war-for-independence1956-suez-crisis/
For German planes, you'll need the PilotGAF pilot from the German Pilots pack : http://combatace.com/files/file/9210-german-air-force-pilot%C2%B4s/
For other planes, you'll need the Euro001 pilot included with NATO Fighters 4+ Update 1 : http://combatace.com/files/file/11099-nato-fighters-4-patch-post-dec-2009-patch-level/

UPDATING YOUR FORMOSA FREEDOM CAMPAIGN v1.1

The necessary campaign files have been modified to add the Taiwanese RF-84F, just overwrite the original files.

Due to JonathanRL's way of implementing squadrons (without a proper squadron list) I've had to use a specific variant for Taiwan rather than use it as a skin for the US variant, as should be.
It also means that unless you add the squadrons properly, the ROCAF 4th CRS will appear show up as a USAF unit (without impact on anything else than text displayed on the loadout screen).
It was the best compromise to be both working with Formosa Freedom and still be compatible with the standard implementation.

At the moment I'm not interested in providing a package solely for that purpose.

UPDATING YOUR 1956 SUEZ CRISIS CAMPAIGN v2.1

The necessary campaign files have been modified to use the updated RF-84F, just overwrite the original files.

Be aware that it will leave the RF-84F using my old naming convention in place, it's up to you to delete it if it creates confusion in single mission play.

At the moment I'm not interested in providing a package solely for that purpose.

1 Silver skin for 303rd TRS (USAFE), 17 planes, circa late 1956, Spangdahlem, DE

      ----------------------------------

      KNOWN ISSUES :

      - The spoilers are not part of the model and are only painted on.
      - The brake chute fairing is there even on early models.
      - Some skins are not "right" due to subtle mapping problems and a model not 100% accurate.
      - Some parts inherit the global skin lighting values instead of having these set to fixed values.
      - There may be some decal bleeding on lower visual settings as in some cases I only leave a 1 pixel margin.

      ----------------------------------

      WHAT'S TO COME :

      - Some more panel changes and details
      - Normal and specular maps, maybe, when/if Florian has the time and motivation to do so
      - 15th TRS and 45th TRS PACAF planes

    21. EAF MIG-17F Fresco, Fighter-Bomber Modification

      EAF MiG-17F Fresco-C Fighter-Bomber Mod

=For SF2, Any and All - Reccomended for Use in SF2:I=

This is a revamping of my 2008 releade of the same aircraft, now updated/tweeked/fiddled with for SF2*. As such, it is my not-so-humble attempt to duplicate the fighter-bomber modifications the EAF performed on their MiG-17's during the 6 Day War.

*meaning....I'd forgotten I was doing it and stumbled across it 'hidden' in SF2I!*

Inis have been adjusted to make use of various and sundry imporvement since the initial release.
This is a complete package, with weapons*, skins, cockpit (Ordway's Fresco pit). Markings make use of all stock in-game decals. The only thing =NOT=included is the Fresco's LOD, as it's pretty much available in ALL versions of SF2. Loadouts have been 'adjusted', using the new 'change by year' feature, to discontinue use of the Sakr pak, and return to standard UB series rocket pods around 1975. The data ini (ie: Flight Model) is fully updated to the latest patch level (Oct 2011 -not the betas)

*weapons included are the Sakr rocket rack and pylon set. It uses the S-5 57mm rocket that should be stock in all installs. The FAB-100 may require the GunnyPak*

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! As always, the usual "Notes" section for other interestering details and stuff.

      Good Hunting!

    22. Su-7BMK QJJ Camo skin

This is my very first camo skin never uploaded, revamped and polished.
So it's not my best work.
It will fit well in Your Yom kippur standard campaign without any other edit.
I decided to upload because I was bored of the stock silver planes with
Algerian roundels and soviet red numbers....

      Install: as usual.

Credits: it seems to remember I followed a very old skin scheme, but I wasn't able to find.

      Happy we're back.

      Enjoy.

    23. McDonnell F3H-2N Demon Ultimate for SF2

This is the first of four projects I have been working on for the last 6 months. It will be followed shortly by Ultimate Packages for the F3H-2M and F3H-2 variants, along with a F7U Cutlass Ultimate Package.

The F3H-2N was the first of three Demon variants developed in parallel with each other. It was meant to be an all-weather fighter for fleet use.
Armament consisted of four 20mm cannon and 4 pods of 2.75inch FFAR's. Later the rockets were dropped in favor of the new Sidewinder missile which had just become available. Sparrow capability was added later in its life when most 2N's were upgraded to F3H-2 models.

Being underpowered was its major flaw. The original Westinghouse J-40 never materialized and the J-71 was fitted instead. Pilots called the Demon the "Lead Sled" or just "Sled".

This is a major rework of the existing F3H-2M demon file into the 3 variants. Almost everything has been tweeked to make it more accurate in appearance and performance. The skins have been painstakingly researched and re-created. Every squadron which flew
the Demon is represented here including changes in their scheme over time. The flight model has been adjusted to fly like the Demon and give you performance worthy of its nickname. The four cannons are present along with the FFAR's and early Sidewinders. There are new Hangar and Loading Screens as well.

      SQUADRONS INCLUDED:

    24. McDonnell F3H-2M Demon Ultimate for SF2

This is the second of four projects I have been working on for the last 6 months. It will be followed shortly by Ultimate Packages for the F3H-2 variant, along with a F7U Cutlass Ultimate Package.

The F3H-2M (M for "Missile") was a version of the F3H Demon that was equipped to carry and launch the early AAM-N-2 Sparrow I radar beam-riding air-to-air missile. Two of the four 20mm cannons were often removed to same weight. Sometimes all were removed and it operated pure-missile!!
The F3H-2M was produced in parallel with the F3H-2N, but only 80 examples of the F3H-2M were built. It was modified to carry the AN/APG-51B radar set that was used to guide the Sparrow I missile. Four of these Sparrow missiles could be carried underneath the wings. This model of the Demon was NOT operationally upgraded to operate the new and improved Sparrow III missile. After 1962...the designation was changed to MF-3B Demon.

Every squadron which flew
this M model Demon is represented here including changes in their scheme over time. The flight model has been adjusted to fly like the Demon and give you performance worthy of its nickname. There are new Hangar and Loading Screens as well. All Bureau Numbers are
      accurate for this variant.

A new weapon model has been created for the early Sparrow I. It is TRUE in appearance and performance (at least as much was possible).

ONLY A FEW DEMON SQUADRONS OPERATED THE F3H-2M...they are represented in this package.

      SQUADRONS REPRESENTED:

      VF-24 "Corsairs" (2 skins)
      VF-61 "Jolly Rogers" (4 skins!)
      VF-112 (2 skins)
VF-121 "Pacemakers" the West Coast RAG (Replacement Air Group)
      VX-4 "Evaluators"
Point Mugu (Pacific Missile Test Center)
      NATC (Naval Air Test Center)

    25. McDonnell F3H-2 Demon Ultimate for SF2

This is the third of four projects I have been working on for the last 6 months. It will be followed by an F7U Cutlass Ultimate Package(when fully completed). I am also planning an F11F Tiger Ultimate package to follow .

The F3H-2N and -2M were all built under contracts initially intended to cover for the disasterous F3H-1N. Following the completion of these contracts, a new Demon version was ordered in 1956-57 under a new set of contracts. This version was designated F3H-2 (F-3B after 1962). The F3H-2 could carry and launch the more capable AAM-N-6 (AIM-7C after September 1962) Sparrow III semi-active radar homing missile. The Sparrow III was a definite improvement over the Sparrow I, which was a pure beam riding missile, with no active homing capability, which meant that the guidance error was in the shape of a cone, which increased in diameter as the range inceased. The F3H-2 could also launch the AAM-N-7 (AIM-9B) Sidewinder IA air-to-air infrared homing air-to-air missile. The F3H-2 was equipped with an AN/APG-51B radar along with the AN/APA-127 Illuminator/Launch Envelope computer. The F3H-2 was optimized as a FIGHTER-BOMBER and could carry up to 6000 pounds of ordnance (bombs, rockets, or "special stores") on two fuselage and six wing stations. Late production F3H-2's also differed from the previous versions in having a slightly shorter beaver tail cone. The last of 239 F3H-2s was delivered on April 8, 1960, bringing the Demon production program to a close. Total Demon production was 519 aircraft. An interesting note is that there is NO EVIDENCE of the Demon ever being handed down to the USN Reserves. It seems almost all Demons were sent directly to NAS Litchfield Park and the scrapper. Only a handful remain today in museums......how sad.

Being underpowered was its major flaw. The original Westinghouse J-40 never materialized and the J-71 was fitted instead. Pilots called the Demon the "Lead Sled" or just "Sled".

Only Squadrons which operated this -2 variant of the Demon are included in the skins.

      VF-13 Aggressors
      VF-14 Tophatters

      VF-161 Chargers
VF-193 Ghost Riders (3 skin versions)
      VF-213 Black Lions

YES....THAT IS 23 SEPARATE SKINS!!!!!!!! All are researched and re-created here. Bureau Numbers are accurate for 3 blocks of the F3H-2 Production line (blocks h,p and t).

A new weapons file for the AIM-7A Sparrow I missile is included. LET IT OVERWRITE any previous AIM-7A's you may have. This one is a new and CORRECT model.

There are separate ini files to allow the user to operate Air to Ground Missions (with different ordanance pylons). PLEASE SEE READ-ME for details
