  1. F-86F-40, Imperial Iranian AF

    IIAF F-86F-40 Sabre Aircraft/Skin Pak

    =For SF2 & SF/SFG/WoV/WoE and maybe WoI @ 08 Levels and above=

This package creates a 'nationalized', stand alone aircraft for Zur's F-86F-40, representing Sabres as used by the Imperial Iranian Air Force in the 1960s/70s. aka "Swords of the Shah". Designed to fill in a small gap, between the Imperial Iranian AF prop-jobs (P-47s), and the third sets of jets (F-5A/B/Es and Phantoms; the first set being straight-winged F-84s, and these Sabres that replaced them). This nationalized version was created for specific reasons, outlined in the "Notes" section below.

The skin is a basic bare-metal, with serial number decals for 18 aircraft (standard squadron). With information so scarce, some "WAG" had to be used. The number conventions follow those as seen on F-5s and F-4 Phantoms, and a profile I found online, so should be relatively accurate.

As always, -READ- the enclosed readme for full, highly detailed, step-by-step install instructions. For those wishing to install to 1st Gen games, =PLEASE= make double damn sure you read the special section for you. I've tried to keep it as simple a possible, while covering all bases.

  2. F-86 Sabre Pack, Pakistani Air Force

F-86 Sabre Pack, Pakistani Air Force

    = For SF2, Any & All =

-An additon for the India-Pakistan Mod-

This package contains 2 complete aircaft mods of Sabres for the PAF:

F-86F, as delivered 1957 (in natural metal)
CL-13B Sabre 6 as "delivered" via Iran in the mid-1960s.

The Sabre 6 comes with 2 skins, Euro camo and overall green for No.18 Squadron. All serials
for both versions are 100% historically correct.
New skins for all were created using ravenclaw's beyond superb templates. All skins are in
jpg format. Decal randomization is true. New DDS damage textures are included, as are all new
SF2-style Hangar and Loading Screens. No weapons are supplied, other than the drop tanks, as
these use all stock in-game items.

An all new, SF2-compliant FM was created for these aircraft; it flys like it should!

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please READ
them! Also, the "Notes" section for a more detailed change/correction list.

    Happy Landings!

  3. SF2 Korean War Era F-86F "GunVal" Sabre Pak

SF2 Korean War Era F-86F "GunVal" Sabre Pak

    = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level, due to the extensive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level.*

The pack represents the experimental "GunVal" (Gun Evaluation) Sabres as used during the later part of the Korean War.

These differ from standard, or garden variety A/E/F models in have 4 20mm cannon instead of 6 50 caliber machine guns. They were only used for a short time (53-54) before being retired, having proved the concept (the data obtained was used on building the F-86H, and possibly US Navy FJ Furys, and the gun itself went on to equip thousands of Century Series fighters).

These aircraft carries the markings of the 335th Fighter Squadron, 4th FIW, where they were used.
Like the other Sabres, this has a brand new skin, built from ravenclaw's beyond superb template. All skins are in jpg format, and Decal Randomization is set to TRUE. Almost all markings are decals, excepting the yellow ID stripes. New DDS damage textures are included. Serial numbers are 100% historically accurate; after all, only 10 of these aircraft were ever built, and it was no great feat to run them down.

Like the other recently released Sabres, an all new, SF2-compliant FM was created for these aircraft; it flys like it should!. There are NO weapons included as everything references something stock 3W (the gun) or what you'll already have the main F-86 Pak (the drop tank).
Mission tasking is limited to A-A ONLY!!! This is a pure air superiority fighter, with NO privisions for the A-G role. The aircraft also uses the same pilot figure and sounds as the KAW Sabre Pak, so be advised, you need the KAW Sabre Pak installed to get the most from THIS pak.

When in-game you'll see "F-86F-2 "GUNVAL" " in the aircraft selection drop-down window.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

  4. SF2 Korean War Era F-86 Sabre Pak

SF2 Korean War Era F-86 Sabre Pak

End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level.*

This is the F-86 Sabre Pak for the Korean Air War mod. Probably as eagerly awaited as the terrain itself...

Ladies, Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, THIS is the "Star of the Show"!!!

In this pak you have 3 Sabre marks, with their various skins/decals sets:

    F-86A:
    334th FIS
    335th FIS
    336th FIS, 4th FIW

This set uses the 'SF2 date switch' to swap from the Black/White Invasion stripes (Early skins) to the Yellow ID band (Late Skins). They switch on March 1, 1951.

    F-86E:
    No. 2 Squadron, SAAF
    16th FIS
    25th FIS
    39th FIS, 51st FIW
    334th FIS
    335th FIS
    336th FIS, 4th FIW

    F-86F:
    16th FIS
    25th FIS
    39th FIS, 51st FIW
    334th FIS
    335th FIS
    336th FIS, 4th FIW

...and a Surprise Bird, with 3 skins of it's own!!!!!

All aircraft have brand new skins, built from ravenclaw's beyond superb template. All skins are in jpg format, and Decal Randomization is set to TRUE. Almost all markings are decals, excepting special vert fin/rudder markings (the yellow stripe for the 4th FIW, and checkboard with squadron color for the 51st). New DDS damage textures are included.

An all new, SF2-compliant FM was created for these aircraft; it flys like it should! (as seen on some other recently released Sabre mods) A new userlist ini is also included. The F-86A gets an SF2-version of my original 'box art' Hangar screen; the E & Fuses a more 'generic' style. No weapons are included; they are in the KAW weapons pak, and excepting for the drop tanks and HVARs, reference stock items (ie: the bombs). Many new sounds are included; be advised the included 50cal sound =WILL= overwrite any others you posess. Several new 'effects' are included as well.

For your extra added Flying Pleasure, a KAW =ONLY!!= modded InstantAction.ini resides in the included /Flight folder. REMINDER: use this =ONLY= in a stand alone KAW mods folder. It's based off the Korea V.3 map, and you'll need the MiG-15bis_NK, La-11 Fang, F-82G, F9F-2, and of course, these Sabres. This is an optional use file; I won't be insulted if you don't use it, or change the aircraft to what you want. Really; I promise!

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. There are "Operational Notations" and other impertinant data you should know.

  5. SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre Remod Pak

    SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre Remod Pak
    = For SF2 ONLY, Full-4/5 Merged (Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) =

A remod/compliation of several F-86F Skin/Ini paks, now fully compliant with SF2. If you have the originals, you'll probably want to delete them, as THIS pack is designed to FULLY replace it.
It is also suggested you be at the latest patch level, due to some ini 'switches' used.

This pak contains the following skin/decal sets:

    JASDF:
    1 Kokutai
    3 Kokutai
    6 Kokutai
    8 Kokutai

    Imperial Iranian AF
    Ethiopian AF
461st FDS, 50th FBW, USAFE 1956-ish (*note: in RL, was possbily -30 or -35)
and an extra 'blank' natural metal skin, that you can use for whatever.

    Included:
NEW SF2 compliant FM (from KAW)
New 'sabre specific' HVAR A-G rocket (station specific coded)
NEW cockpit (from the KAW F-86F)
    NEW Sounds (from KAW)
    'fake pilot' wing fences
tweeks by Crusader for the KAW Sabres (well done Otto!!)

All skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. The loadout ini uses the Year and Nation specific loadout switches for some of the export users, as defined in the enclosed Userlist.ini. Damage textures are the same DDS units as seen with the KAW Sabres. Other than the 'new' rocket, no other weapons are included, excepting the drop tank.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet semi-detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, please give the "Notes" section a read too.

  6. SF2 NAA FJ-3M Fury (Ver.2)

    SF2 NAA FJ-3M Fury (Ver.2)

    = For SF2, (Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED!!) =

*Note: this aircraft will NOT work in SF/Wo* 1stGen Games are ANY patch level. This
aircraft was (re)designed and (re)built and (re)tested in SF2NA and Full5 Merged installs*

A brand new, replacement aircraft for the previous 1stGen conversions. Through the hard
work of several, people, being named here FIRST, instead of further down in the Credits
(well, they're listed there, too, of course!)
Zur (the Great and Powerful) for giving me the uncompleted MAX files, and RussoUK for
finishing and polishing the LOD for SF2 useage. You guys ROCK!!

This is the full, compiled package of Zur/Column5's FJ-3M Fury. Like the original SF2 pak,
it contains all the skin/decal sets I could find, combined into one big lump. This package
is designed to REPLACE, in total, any and ALL other previouse FJ-3M Furys.

Skins included in the pak are:

    VF-53 from ??
VF-62 from USS Essex, ATG-201 during the Beirut Crisis
VF-73 from USS Randolph, circa 1956/57
VF-84 from USS Forrestall, crica 1956/57
    VF-142 from USS Hornet, 1956
VF-211 from USS BonHomme Richard, circa 1956
VMF-312 (actually an FJ-3 in Natural Metal, circa 1955ish)
    VMF-333 from ???

Skins are a mixture of both bmp and JPG, and Decal randomization is also set to TRUE.
Damage textures are in DDS format (same as the Sabre). The aircraft is now bump mapped,
    for that nice metalic look.

A new FM, is based off Fubar's work on the KAW Sabres. It may need futher fine tuning to
completly Navalize it. The canopy, now functional, opens with the Standard Animation
Keystroke, Shift/0. AT this time, wingfold in NOT functional. The data ini statements
refelct this for carrier on-deck parking.
Other changes are the addition of the Userlist, a new avionics ini that adds the radar-
ranging gunsight. And a revamped SF2 version of my 'artwork' hangar screen.
The aircraft is fully carrier-capable, as per the July 2012 patch level. No weapons are
included; all stock items are called out. The new drop tanks are built into the aircraft's
LOD, ala SF2 3W birds. The weapons data IS included, of course.
Sounds are all reused from the KAW Sabres, as is the NEW cockpit (also from the KAW F-86F)

As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed, easy-to-follow install
instructions. Of course, the usual 'Notes' section for the ravings of a madman!! <g>

    Happy Landings!!

  8. SF2 F-86D/L v1.0

Upgrade of the F-86D Dog Sabre and F-86L Lima Sabre to SF2I standards. Includes new Med-Rez skins, damage textures, sounds, effects, and weapons.

    Known Issues

The AI is really crappy about firing the Mighty Mouse Rockets as a rocket, so I borrowed Hgbns gun data for the Mighty Mouse. But still, the AI is horrible at using the Rocket so don't count on the AI to do a whole hell of a lot. This addon still needs tweaking for the AI to be effective, may require some cheating for the AI to use. I released this to hopefully make this pack better and useable against aircraft

So if you know how to make it better, PM me and I will test and update.

  9. Foreign Sabres Pack

17th July 2009 SF2 version updates by knx, all props go to original creators as listed below dotted line.

Install instructions, drag and drop Objects folder into your mod folder.

Here's the original readme, not all of the contents are included here as the pack seems to have been broken down into smaller packs, more on the way soon:
    .........................................................................................................................................................................................................................
    F-86 Sabre /MiG-15 README:

First of all I would like to think “USAFMTL” for allowing me to be a part of this effort.

Secondly thanks go to David Zurawski for his wonderful F-86 Sabre that is such a work of art.

Thirdly thank you to all that have modeled and skined the work to developed individual sub-models of the F-86.

Thanks to Jimmy Bib for all his graphical engineering.

Lastly thank you to “Fubar 512" for his expert guidance in my effort in Flight Modeling.

If ever the was an aircraft the looked, felt, smelt, and tasted like a fighter aircraft ; it’s the F-86 Sabre!

And being an actual jet rated pilot, with a little over 1,200 actual flight hours, compelled me to tweak , my “Sweet Sabre”.

Being my all time favorite aircraft and being an avid history nut about the Korean Conflict compelled me in an effort to add to these works that so many started.

First of all. All data contained in the data.ini files was deeply researched by “USAFMTL” and myself.

Only minor tweaks where utilized, building on the work of those that created the aircraft models.

All aircraft preform to Dash 1 specifications to the degree of 99.9%.

All aircraft where thoroughly tested by hundreds hours of actual, not autopilot, testing.

The yank and bank style of A.C.M. with this aircraft is gone.

    Key points are :
    1) Keeping a high energy fight.

    2) Thinking well ahead of what the aircraft is, or what you want it to do.

    3) The required use of the speed brakes to alter or set up YOUR fight or flight, in reference to turning radius. Not just chopping the throttle, that is a only a good way to die.

    4) And for the self proclaimed, “Fighter Aces”, fly these models on the HARD setting, to truly test your skill.

    5) All F-86 and MiG-15 are uniform in performance. The aircraft preform as did the actual models of this noble era.

    6) The addition of armor to all aircraft end the ,“QUICK KILL”. These can be altered still to fit ones preference.

    A little history:

  10. U.S.A.F. Early Model Sabres SF2

16th July 2009 SF2 version updates by knx, all props go to original creators listed below the dotted line.

Install instructions, drag and drop Objects folder into your mod folder.

Notes: I will try to figure out why the magnetic compass to the right of the cockpit isn't showing up, just a case of finding the appropriate bmp from first series games I think. Will update as and when. Please let me know if you spot something else that needs updating/tweaking. I'm sure there is something I missed, so point it out to me please if you can, the reason I'm uploading now as it is, is so that issues can be pointed out and resolved before the rest of the packs to follow. Regards, Gwyn.

    ...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
The original readme follows, note that this pack is only one specific part of what is described here, the next lot I will be updating are the later model USAF Sabres (I don't know who is doing the MiG-15s)

  11. FJ-3M

15th July 2009 SF2 version updates by knx, all props go to original creators as listed below the dotted line.

Install instructions, drag and drop Objects folder into your mod folder. Simples tsiek!

Notes: The old shadow entry and shd gives the "shadow appearing as a shaft of grey to the ground" problem, however so does the newer method on my system. Swap out the xx in the FJ-3M.ini [shadow] entries to see which one you prefer.

    FJ-3M Fury Mod
    by column5

First, let me thank Zur for allowing me to mod his excellent F-86. I'd also like to acknowledge DanW who did the original F-86 skin, which I modified for this aircraft.

You do not need the F-86 to use this mod, but if you DON'T have it you should: http://www.simtweak.com.

Soon after the Korean conflict began, the US Navy realized that its current front line fighters, the F9F Panther and F2H Banshee, were no match for the new MiG-15. The Navy wisely contracted North American Aviation to modify the superb F-86 Sabre for naval use, and the result was the FJ-2 Fury (the FJ-1 designation had already been applied to a completely different aircraft). The Fury was developed over the course of the 1950s into the FJ-3, represented here, and ultimately the FJ-4. Unlike the FJ-4, the FJ-3 is externally very similar to the F-86, and is well represented by Zur's F-86 model.

The 'M' in the aircraft's designation represents the ability to carry early Sidewinder AAMs. The FJ-3 is also equipped with four Mk12 20mm canon.

This package includes a skin representing the bright colors of VF-53 Iron Angels circa 1956.

  12. F-86K SF2

F-86K (Early Model) Sabre by Bunyap, Fubar512.
    Skins by USAFMTL and Sundowner.
    Original 3D model by Zur.

This is the early F-86K (pre ser number 56-4116) with the narrow chord wing. Later Ks had the extended F-40 wing and earlier ones were retrofitted. I'll have those when the L is done...

Put the plane in your aircraft folder. The skins are semi accurate based on the vague info I have on the K models of W Germany and Italy. Sleepy Sweeper is going to hook up the Norwegian Kilos. ( I think)

Make sure you have the latest wep pack to get the F-86 drop tanks.

Also in an update to the F-86D-45 which fixes the lights postions. Put that file in your main F-86D-45 folder and overwrite.

    Final notes

This is good for taking out bombers. If you are lucky. Dogfighting fighters in it though, forget it. You will be able to see what the pilots of this aircraft had to go through in case of a war. It was not a ground attack aircraft, it was used for intercepts, high speed recon (if ever) and CAP's over the US and Canada. Good luck, you will need it.
