      F-105D-31 Thunderchief introduction & History
      ***********************************

      Built by Republic Aircraft, the F-105 was designed as a supersonic, single-seat, fighter-bomber able to carry nuclear weapons and heavy bomb loads over great distances at high speeds. It made its first flight on October 12, 1955. The first F-105D (58-1146) flew on 9 June 1959. The TAC at Nellis AFB, Nevada, accepted the first F-105D on September 28, 1960. The initial contract for 59 F-105Ds was increased to nearly 300 by the end of 1961. Ultimately, 610 F-105Ds were built.

      The F-105D variant was an all-weather fighter-bomber version, fitted with monopulse and Doppler radar for night or bad weather operations. This radar was capable of terrain avoidance commands. The original weapons bay, designed for nuclear stores, was sealed and fitted with additional fuel tanks. Bombs were carried on multiple weapons racks on the centerline of the fuselage, and on wing pylons. The aircraft was fitted with a retractable in-flight refueling probe. During the Vietnam War, F-105 units operated from bases in Thailand.

      The F-105D was the major production version of the Thunderchief series. It was an all-weather version of the day-only F-105B. Externally, the -D differed from the -B in having a slightly longer and wider nose, which housed the AN/ASG-19 "Thunderstick" system designed to meet new all-weather requirements specified in the November 1957. The AN/ASG-19 was designed around the NASARR R-14A all-purpose monopulse radar. This was optimized in both air-to-ground and air-to-air modes and was capable of performing both low-level and high-altitude missions. The aircraft was equipped with a General Electric FC-5 flight control system that operated in conjunction with the R-14A radar to provide the F-105D with full all-weather capability. The system included a bomb-toss computer, a sight system, an AN/APN-131 Doppler navigator, an air data computer, missile launch computer, autopilot, and search and ranging radar. The radar installation also incorporated a terrain guidance mode permitting the pilot to descend through bad weather in unfamiliar territory and to hug the ground, avoiding detection.

      A J75-P-19W jet engine equipped with water injection powered the F-105D. A new cockpit was provided with a vertical instrument panel. The higher gross weight of the -D version required the provision of a stronger main landing gear and more robust brakes. In addition, a pitot tube was mounted on the extreme tip of the nose. The aircraft were otherwise quite similar to other F-105s. The F-105D had an arrester hook mounted on the rear of the ventral fin. This hook was intended to engage a wire in case the aircraft overshot the end of the runway during a landing. The Thunderchief was not capable of carrier-based operations.

    9. F-86K/L Sabres

      F-86 Kilo and Lima Sabres by Bunyap, Fubar512.
      Skins by USAFMTL and Sundowner.
      Original 3D model by Zur

      F-86K Late
      The NA-242 batch differed from the previous batches by having the extended wing leading edges and wingtips of the F-86F-40-NA, increasing wingspan from 37.1 to 39.1 feet and wing area from 287.9 to 313.37 square feet. Many previous Fiat-assembled F-86Ks were modified in the field to bring them up to the NA-242 standard.

      F-86L
      F-86L was fitted with the F-86F-40 wing, with twelve-inch wingtip extensions and "6-3" leading edge extensions with slats. The wingspan and wing area were 39.1 feet and 313.37 square feet respectively. The new wing improved the handing ability and provided better turning at high altitudes. The reconditioned F-86Ls retained the armament of twenty-four rockets of the F-86D.

    10. F-104A/C Superpak

      F-104A/C Superpack by USAFMTL For wpnssgt's F-104

      This pack includes 18 skins all done by me using updated templates of Sundowner.

      Tweaked the data.ini on both planes. Fixed Thrust values, range, speed etc.

      Notes

      This F-104A is the gunless one. You get 2 winders only just like it had until 1964. I have included though a data.ini that has the gun for later use if you want.

      The F-104C could carry 4 winders, 2 on the wing tips and 2 under the fuse. However after great amount of research it was almost never used as the fuse missiles seeker head would get damaged all the time. So I did not include it.

      Make sure you have the latest weps pack installed. Also this will only work with people who have the older versions of SF that came with the F-104G as it uses the G pit.

      Original model by wpnssgt, original textures by Sundowner. All updates by me. Skins by me.

      Just zip the pack, run the .exe files to a folder of your choosing. Then drop the files in your aircraft folder. Go fly.

      There are 6 F-104C skins and 12 F-104A skins.

      Enjoy

    11. A-4H "Ahit" Beta v1.3

      For those who have downloaded Sundowner's Israeli A-4F skin pack and want an Israeli A-4 to put them on, this kit provides the files to convert a copy of the A-4F into the Israeli A-4H. As such it's a work around until we get a proper Israeli A-4H/N.

      ===========
      -4H "Ahit" Beta v1.3 Readme
      =======================

      1. This version corrects the ECM & clarifies the droptank data.

      2. This is a "Quick & Dirty" conversion of the ThirdWire A-4F to an Israeli version.
      As such, it will enable you to operate an "Israeli" advanced Skyhawk until such
      time as a proper A-4N Skyhawk II can be built.

      3. You must have SFP1 ( Patched to SP3.1 ) or WOV w/Patch 2 in order to use this mod.
      You must also have the most current Weapons Pack with Updates in order for the
      guns to work. This mod assumes that you also have Sundowner's Israeli Skyhawk
      skin package already downloaded ( Availible from http://www.combatace.com/ ).
      As well as ThirdWire's A-4F Skyhawk ( Also at CombatAce ).

      =======================

      INSTALLATION :

      A. Make a copy of your A-4F aircraft Folder. Rename this to A-4H

      B. Add the A-4H config.ini, the A-4H data.ini, the A-4H loadout.ini, and the A-4H
      Loading.bmp to your new A-4H folder. The A-4H folder should now be placed in your
      Strike Fighters/Objects/Aircraft , or your WOV/Objects/Aircraft folder.

      C. If you want Sundowner's Israeli camoflage tanks to show in the A-4H Loadout screen,
      add the following entry :

      [WeaponDataXXX]
      TypeName=Tank300_A4IDF
      FullName=Israeli 300-gal Drop Tank
      ModelName=tank300_a4ais
      Mass=989.500000
      Diameter=0.650000
      Length=6.020000
      AttachmentType=
      NationName=
      StartYear=0
      EndYear=0
      Availability=0
      BaseQuantity=0
      Exported=FALSE
      ExportStartYear=0
      ExportAvailability=0
      WeaponDataType=5
      MaxFuelAmount=884.520020
      Asymmetrical=FALSE

      This enables your Israeli Camo droptanks to show up as the default tanks for this aircraft.
      You must add this data to your weaponsdata.ini ( make sure than the WeaponData number is the
      next one in sequence ), then save the weaponsdata.ini using the SP3 Weapons Editor.

      Note :

      You should also have Sundowner's tank entry in your weaponsdata.ini if you wish to use his
      tanks with Israeli skins for the A-4E & A-4EL :

      [WeaponDataxxx]
      TypeName=Tank300_A4
      FullName=Israeli 300-gal Drop Tank
      ModelName=tank300_a4ais
      Mass=989.500000
      Diameter=0.650000
      Length=6.020000
      AttachmentType=
      NationName=
      StartYear=0
      EndYear=0
      Availability=0
      BaseQuantity=0
      Exported=FALSE
      ExportStartYear=0
      ExportAvailability=0
      WeaponDataType=5
      MaxFuelAmount=884.520020
      Asymmetrical=FALSE

      ================================================

      v1.3 Changes to the A-4H from the A-4F :

      1. the 20mm cannon are replaced with DEFA 30mm cannon ( each with 150 rounds ).

      2. the tailhook has been disabled ( Israel doesn't have carriers ).

      3. an early model chaff dispencer & flare dispencer has been added. Jammer strength increased.
      ( Note that the jammer strength is toned down in v1.3. The initial strength of 48 was
      entirely *Too* effective. )

      4. Sundowner's IDF skins are set up as default skins. Same with his droptanks. Note that there
      should be two tank entries in the weaponsdata.ini for use with both A-4E & A-4H.

      5. Aircraft nationality is changed to Israel.

      6. Wrench's Canopy Mod now included.

      7. Wrenchs IAF Skyhawk1 Hangarscreen also included.

      Enjoy!

      A. Installation :

      1. Drop the 'F-7P Skybolt' folder into your Strike Fighters/Objects/Aircraft, or your
      Wings Over Vietnam/Objects/Aircraft folder.
      2. Open the 'Add To Sounds' folder and copy the four .wav files to either your
      Strike Fighters/Sounds, or your Wings Over Vietnam/Sounds folder.
      3. Your copy of Strike Fighters should be patched to SP3.1 standard. Your copy of
      Wings Over Vietnam should be patched to Patch 2 standard.
      4. You should also have the latest Weapons Pack ( w/Updates ) installed. Weapons
      Packs are availible at http://www.combatace.com/

      B. Notes :

      1. The Pakistanis purchased the Chengdu F-7M beginning in 1988 in order to replace their
      aging F-86F-35 & F-6 fighters. Designated F-7P in PAF service, this fighter is capable of
      carrying two PL-5, AIM-9P, AIM-9L, or Matra R-552 Magic II IRM missiles. It uses a modified
      version of the BAE Type 226 Sky Ranger Radar and a limited Sky Ranger ECCM suite ( Flares &
      a noise jammer ). Pakistani F-7Ps also have Martin-Baker ejection seats, and Western radio
      equipment. This fighter has a limited ground attack capability. PAF practice is to assign
      junior pilots to F-7P units while reserving the Mirage & F-16 units for their more experienced
      & promising pilots. PAF F-7Ps are currently being upgraded to F-7MP standard to extend their
      useful service life.

      C. Issues :

      1. The F-7P uses the stock SFP1/WOV MiG-21F model. As such, the canopy has not been animated as the
      MiG canopy hinges forward while the Chendu canopy slides to the rear. The MiG-21F model also has
      only two wing pylons while the F-7P has four. The outer wing ordinance stations are adjusted to ride
      snug to the wing underside for this reason. F-7Ps also have the BAE (GEC/Marconi Type 926 HUDWAC), no
      F-7 cockpit currently exists, so a stock A-4 pit is used. The Type 226 Sky Ranger data is fed into the
      HUDWAC. The avionics.ini is set up for normal HUD settings in game to enable you to see the Lock-On diamond.
      There is no search function on the Sky Ranger radar, it's ranging only.

      D. Credits :

      1. All glory goes to Gramps for first modding the MiG-21F into it's Chinese cousin. Gramps has graciously allowed
      me to carry the ball forward. The Hangarscreen is by Gramps. As is the decal.ini.

      2. Ghostrider883, geg etendard, and madcaddie for Research into the Warbirds of the Sub-Continant.

      3. Fubar512 for his excellent MiG RWR sounds and his revised MiG FMs.

      4. Any mistakes are solely mine.

      Enjoy!

    19. Vector Thrust Adaptation for existing Harrier FRS1 & FRS2

      This mod is just a shameless .ini tweak in order to adaptat the vector-thrust mod developped for the AV-8C to previously released Harriers (FRS1 and FRS2).

      It should be regarded as a *temporary mod*, so that you can improve your vertical landing skills on Royal Navy's carriers while waiting for "real" updated Harrier add-ons.

      I have just deleted the motor and overeffective flaps sections in SeaHarrier_DATA.INI and HarrierFRS2_DATA.INI, in order to add the new motor and nozzles of the AV-8C. Nothing else has been edited, the Flight Model remains unchanged.
      So, all credit is due to the different teams involved in the AV-8C, FRS1 and FRS2 add-ons, namely and in no particular order:
