daddyairplanes Posted yesterday at 03:25 AM Posted yesterday at 03:25 AM general best advice is to have a seperate install/exe for each mega mod like Korea or NATO Fighters if you are rocking the old way, with installs for each of SF2, Vietnam, Europe, Israel, North Atlantic and the two expansion packs, that seven installs alone that you can tweak im not sure how it goes for the all inclusive pack, but imagine that it would not be too hard to set up multiple installs from that as well
Wrench Posted yesterday at 05:44 AM Posted yesterday at 05:44 AM It says right in the read me for KAW, it REQUIRES a seperate install.
Chugster Posted yesterday at 02:22 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:22 PM can i just copy my SF2 install folder somewhere or do i need to install a 2nd copy properly?
Chugster Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Also, since when did you have to pay for the NATO fighters mod? Or is it a glitch? If its not a glitch its a bit of a cheeky thing letting you download the first 2 parts for free and then asking for money Edited 23 hours ago by Chugster 1

There are a few steps that should be followed in order to set up a new mod folder. Please note, this doesn't mean you have to run the game installer a second time round. Here is how you set up an additional mod folder (borrowed from the SF2NA Expansion pack install instructions): - Open your SF2 Installation directory and make a copy of your preferred SF2 .exe file and its corresponding .ini file. Rename the copied .exe and .ini files to whatever unique name you prefer. - Run the newly copied and renamed .EXE file, then exit back out to the Windows desktop after navigating through a few menus. A custom Mod Folder for your "[YourModFolder]" install will have been created in one of these locations: Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[YourModFolder] Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[YourModFolder] Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[YourModFolder] ...where [YourModFolder] matches the name of the copied .EXE file that you created. You will install the downloaded mod files to this new directory. As others have mentioned, it's usually beneficial to keep conversion mods in separate install mod folders. The author of the mod will often have set up lots of parameters like available aircraft, ground objects, terrains, effects, available years etc. that are specific to the theatre / theme of the mods and when trying to combine two it might cause bugs. 3 minutes ago, Chugster said: Also, since when did you have to pay for the NATO fighters and WoK mod? If its nota glitch its a bit of a shitty thing letting you download the first 2 parts for free and then asking for money See here: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/100316-downloading-from-combatace-read-this/ Bonus tip... calling it shitty whilst asking for help won't get you far. 4 1

Also, as JimBib just posted above, FULL instructions on how to build an era/theatre specific mod folder is in our ever ignored Knowledge Base 4

This is not a glitch, you get two free files per day. If that means you want a mod that has four parts to it, then you will need two days to download all the parts. As for asking for money, do you think the bandwidth you consume from our site to download those files for free is actually free? I'd prefer that you just said thanks so when I pay the bills every month I don't have to be reminded that there are these types of comments and opinions. Amazes me how people grabbing free stuff want to dictate the manner in which it is received while not offering to be part of the solution. 4 2
Wrench Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago consider the OP has been here since 2014, makes it ever worse. I think an apology from him is MORE than in order. 2

If its not a glitch its a bit of a cheeky thing letting you download the first 2 parts for free and then asking for money you are capped at two downloads a day. so you have downloaded the first two parts and you have to wait till the following day to download the third part. no one is making you pay for anything however you could pay for the one month subscription and download to your hearts content as much as you want all day long. You don't have to be a cheapskate about it being a cheeky thing lol< Don't be CHEEKY!
