As a F-4 fan , I never seen any F-4E or F-4F mods have wingfold system

look that pic , the outer wing has gone , so I think it can be successful

next is Super Etendard wingfold code , I have fixed it :

[WingFold]

SystemType=ANIMATION

InputName=ANIMATION_9

DeploymentMethod=MANUAL

Setting[1].Angle=60.0

Setting[1].DeployValue=3.0

Setting[1].RetractValue=1.0

MaxDeflection=60.0

MinDeflection=0.0

ControlRate=0.1

AnimationTime=6.0

AnimationID=10

I don`t know what the AnimatioID of F-4E , someone can help me ?

Well...let's see.....

as the E model is USAF, and the F is Luftwaffe, I doubt that the wings would on them. (seeing that neither sevice has carriers....)

The navy models, B, J, N and S are all built of stock 3rdWire units, and they don't fold either.

It has to be built into the 3rd model and can't just be added.

(Pasko's Panther has folding wings, btw, as I think the MF's Hornets too),

I mean, it's not as if they'er gonna be struck below on any of the CVs we have, is it??

As to your screenie, looks like it's time for a refersher course in drivers ed!!! :rofl: And I thought I was bad a parrallel parking...!!!

Wrench, the E and F both had the wingfold, but not the mechanical system as on the Naval Phantoms. They had to be manually folded/unfolded by the ground crew. They were used when space was a premium.

BTW, If the pivot is done correctly you can use the game engine to do the wingfold without having to use an animation slot.

The game engine does simple rotations along an axis, that is why you don't need an animation slot for aileron or elevators for example. You could use the cockpit trick to do the wingfolding, instead of declaring an animationID slot, you declare the mesh and the rotation axis.

I think I tested this method a long while ago and don't remember which patch, but it needs repeating to test it out once more and see if it still works

It has to be built into the model and as bpao said we are out of animations section to add it.

Wait the E had folding wings?

I remember when I was stationed at clark ab back in the 80's there was an accident where the crew chief didn't install the pins properly in the mechanism for one of the folding wings on one of the f-4e's On takeoff one wing folded, and the plane crashed off the end of the runway.
