Jeremiah Weed Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 No Herk, no Bird Dog... btw what version is it? "Strike Fighters 2 is an update of our best selling jet air-combat series Strike Fighters to run on Windows Vista." Quote
ArturR Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 ...no Starfighter, no Thud :cray: and avionics looks like untouched Quote
+Brain32 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 By the look of screenshots cockpits are updated... Quote
+streakeagle Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Did you see the cockpit textures? My hi-res mods for the F-4 may have just become mostly obsolete! http://www.thirdwire.com/images/sf2_05.jpg You can see at least 3 different F-4 pits in the screenshots and the hi-res skins look great too. Look at the F-4E, it has the short gun muzzle, maybe even the hard wing with no slats? Strike Fighters and its 3d models are being brought up to the WoI graphics standard. It is already on sale and I have already bought it. Will install it and play later tonight... I am late for work now. Edited December 23, 2008 by streakeagle Quote
+Crusader Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Flyables are 9 versions of the A-4, 12 versions of the F-4 and a lone F-100D Phantoms all have their correct look, e.g. RWR antennas, slats, short/long gun housing. etc and the cockpits are all different too Same goes for the A-4 series. Flyable list Quote
+streakeagle Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 It is a shame the F-104G could not still be in this package :( Quote
+Dave Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 This maybe what resparks my interest. Anymore details on whats in it? Quote
+Dave Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Oh and how much is it? I cant access the 3rd Wire site from work. Quote
+Crusader Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Oh and how much is it? I cant access the 3rd Wire site from work. $19.99 Quote
+Stary Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Not much new here -opinion based purely on screens... I like the look of revamped cockpits Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Is it just an update for SF?? Or a whole new game? Quote
Gr.Viper Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Blackbird, it's a new game. TK's been giving us quite a lot for free way too long Are those more detailed fins on those Snakeyes? http://www.thirdwire.com/images/sf2_07.jpg It seems that all ordnance got at least a texture impovement... Look at pod muzzles http://www.thirdwire.com/images/sf2_10.jpg Quote
+Crusader Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Not much new here -opinion based purely on screens... I like the look of revamped cockpits yep... it has + new cockpits for for A-4/F-4 + some updated avionics ( proper RWR with strobes and threat lights and other stuff ) + most bombs and other external stores are new with higher detail and new textures and some new stores ( Mk 4 and SUU-11 gunpods ) - no F-104G - no multiplayer Quote
Gr.Viper Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 no multiplayer Wha...?? Well, at least there won't be any more questions about that. Quote
+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 looks for me like a small testbed for a upcoming game and a cashcow for TK, but still looks good! Quote
+Stary Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 looks for me like a small testbed for a upcoming game and a cashcow for TK, but still looks good! I hope the testbed will turn success for TK no multiplayer? no comment Quote
column5 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 looks for me like a small testbed for a upcoming game and a cashcow for TK, but still looks good! At $19.99 it will hardly be a cash cow. Its simply the SFP1 game brought up to date with some new features, textures, updated cockpits, etc. Its also designed to be compatible with Vista's new file paths. Also note that TK tossed in the Hunter and Mirage V as AI planes. Quote
kct Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Oh God. THREE versions of the F-4E alone? This sounds more than awesome. Quote
+Crusader Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 MiG-23BN, MF and MS are also included Skypats cat extractor isnt working , perhaps there are some changes to the archives. Quote
