Guys,

 

After much deliberation, OFF will continue, mainly because our hearts are still firmly entrenched in it (ahem) and we think its still very special.

 

The form of future updates phases and paks has not been formulated but I think it safe to say a port to a new engine is probably not on the cards as its not only a financial constraint but a work constraint too.

 

We are still working (have been since Jan) on some important additional aspects of CFS3 hardcode modifications, above and beyond what you have seen in P3, as well as a brace of new craft but I will not go into details here and now.

 

More details will be revealed over time as well as WIPs as usual.

And no, no dates .... as usual!

That's great news. I've enjoyed your efforts and being part of this forum. What other publisher would encourage the wild speculation from users about where your product should go next and how best to get there? That's part of what makes the OFF experience so special, especially since some of us have enjoyed the developers' efforts over many years and have had an opportunity to watch your work evolve.

 

Capitalizing on your brand loyalty is, I think, the most cost effective way for you to proceed. Although the sales may be small, you will be capitalizing on a loyal core of followers who can provide repeat business (I've yet to see a business that can survive long on trial alone, but what do I know? I've only practiced and taught marketing research for 20+ years). Without knowing your business plans, I'm shooting in the dark here, but wish you success, and I'll buy any optional add-ons.

Excellent news Winder! Since you're going to continue supporting us the players through on-going updates to BHaH, etc, I'd like to show some more support for you guys. Who do I make a check out to and where can I send it? I'd like to send a little something to help finance the on-going efforts of making P3 even better. I have that much faith in your passion, skills and dedication to this flight sim. I'm not rich either, but I will do what I can. Knowing that P3 is going to continue to get even better....you just made my night!

Winder, thank you,thank you. We are the addicts and you are our dealer. I think your decision will lead to more sales of the sim. It seems it may be a slow burner but it must be growing with all the new recruits that we have reporting for duty here. Yes, let's all keep the faith and soldier on. Oh I'm a happy boy!
