+Kulbit80 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Today is the first flight day of new russian aircraft 'Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA' which is designed to compete with F-22 and F-35. Nice design... and video link: http://video.yandex.ru/users/russianarms/view/3/?cauthor=russianarms&cid=2#hq Quote
Slartibartfast Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Also showing on the BBC looks like someone mated a Flanker and a YF-23... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8486812.stm?ls Quote
+Kulbit80 Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 There will be a day when we will get it to Third Wire series... Quote
DWCAce Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Looks very familiar, like I've seen a plane like that before.... Quote
+Julhelm Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 And it's a beauty! Video @ BBC Pictars: Quote
JediMaster Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 They could've at least TRIED not to make it look like an F-22/Su-27 love child. Quote
JediMaster Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 No, it's an F-22/Su-27 lovechild. Redheaded. Step. Quote
SayethWhaaaa Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 They could've at least TRIED not to make it look like an F-22/Su-27 love child. I was thinking the EXACT same thing about it being the bastard offspring of those two planes. lol. These are the first real images I've seen of this plane... very nice. Quote
+allenjb42 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Has anyone got Mitchell Gant's phone number? Quote
SayethWhaaaa Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ...also got a bit of a YF-23 look from some angles too. Quote
+allenjb42 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Maybe merge this with Julhelm's thread? Quote
+daddyairplanes Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 with india helping out this time it might have comparable avionics to the west. 187 Raptors is sounding even dumber now. Quote
+Kulbit80 Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 No, it's an F-22/Su-27 lovechild. Redheaded. Step. "F-22/Su-27 lovechild" made in secret over Alaskan sky Quote
+Brain32 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ...also got a bit of a YF-23 look from some angles too. Actually to me it looks much, MUCH more similar to YF-23 than to F-22. I would go as far as saying it does not remind me of F-22 or Su-27 at all. If anything it's "Black Widowski" Quote

+76.IAP-Blackbird Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 You have to keep in mind that aerodynamics are all over the world the same, radar stuff too, so I don`t think that there would be a much more radical new design of the bird. I like it looks hot reminds me of my "stealthy" redesigned Su-27 body Quote
+ghostrider883 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Why? Isn't the 30MKI an example? IAF would be getting to customize the a/c as per their requirements. So what's there to LOL? I say dump MMRCA, go for 100 of these for the IAF. Quote
+Gepard Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Not yet in service and i doubt that it will. Quote
+X RAY Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 yeah,I think next fighter will be the su-35BM in a very small number, the Pak-fa will be Berkut's great companion in the flight demonstrators paradise together with the I-44 and YF-23,I really don't know if Russian government would take these steps away in this world's crisis situation, anyway is a great model, nothing compares to berkut, but I like it. maybe a flight simulator will be it's right habitat! tn_prvteye Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Ooohhhh...me like. Anyone wanna place bets as to how long it will take before our intrepid modelers add it to the SF series? Personally I'm waiting for the first 1/72 model. I love it when new combat aircraft are revealed. It's like Christmas. Quote
+Brain32 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Not yet in service and i doubt that it will. Why it's not like it's JSF Quote
