Better decals ; improved data.ini and loadout.ini :

Camo :

Silver :

Camo with RPK bomb rack :

And silver with RPK bomb rack :

Mirage58.jpg

I'll try to make skins for EC 2/13 Alpes (silver and camo) and EC 3/13 Auvergne (silver and camo).

If somebody have informations about the real Mirage 5F loadout, It would be helpful.

Thanks

Great project!

I made the 5F flyable too and have added the RPK-17 but only used the stock skin.

Weapons in French service were very basic:

MATRA rocket pods (usually on inboard stations )

LAU-32 rocket pods ( outboard stations, for training )

Slick and retarded bombs, 250 and 400 kg, French SAMP series and Mk82 , two in tandem on centerline and RPK-17 fueltank/bombrack combo which can hold up to 4x 250 kg bombs

The Dassault 5F promo picture also shows AS.30RC , centerline station, but I dont know if this was used operationally

5F never got RWR

A2A missiles.. I cant remember the details, they had none at first ( main mission purely A2G ) but I think they were modified later for AIM-9B/F or even Magic

BTW, check the fuel capacity value of the RPK-17 data ini, the BFT-type tank is working correctly since November2009 updates ( or one update earlier, cant remember ) but the old editor always deleted the fuel

edit: changed pics to links

edit 2: some speiling ...

The 5F also had no ranging radar, the CSF sight was limited to fixed and gyro mode.

You can delete the avionics ini and the RangingRadar entry in the 5F_data ini

I use the cockpit of the Mirage 5BA, I think it's the best one for a Mirage 5F (very simple : no avionics and no radar... :grin: )

Today's update :

And the right door is door number... *drum roll* 3.

IIRC

nose_gear_door1 is the main door.

nose_gear_door2 is the part attached to the gear.

nose_gear_door3 is the frontmost part, the one we're interested in.

Looking forward for it (though I have my flyable Mirage V from WOI...)

Can´t wait!

Are you repainting the skins too?

For the EC 3/13 silver skin, I just improved the stock skin. For the camo, I started to make my own templates ( there is a lot of rivets :heat: ) and I will paint a brand new skin.

You can see more screenshots : Mirage 5F WIP at C6

Hello,

I need help for the nose gear door decal (again...)

I try, try and try again to place my decal on the nose gear door, but unfortunately nothing appear :dntknw:

So this is a part of the decals.ini :

[Decal005]

MeshName=nose_gear_door3

DecalLevel=2

DecalFacing=Bottom

FilenameFormat=Mirage5F/d/Auvergne Silver/Gearnum

Position=4.25,-0.85

Rotation=0.0

Scale=2

DecalMaxLOD=3

If one of the Combatace decals expert see what's wrong, it would be helpful... :good:

Position=4.25,-0.85

since the decal facing is bottom, this value means its 4.25 meters to the right and 0.85 aft of model centerline

start with 0.0 for left/right to have it on the centerline , then adjust fore/aft

Hi Ludo! :bye:

Why didn't use your "tailnum" instead of "Gearnum" since you're using "scale=2"?

Good stuff :good:

Just because this is not the serial number of the airplane on the nose gear door, but the letters : SE for the 13-SE airplane.
