Message from Wendy Dio

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

What happened? I did not know he was ill. This is truly a Great tragedy to the entire Rock N Roll community. The man was a huge influence on several sub genre's of metal vocalists.

This is a sad day.

well mates, he was a legend of Rock, its not fair that the mass media didn't spread the news that he was sick, unfortunately.

anyway...here in Brazil we have a great tradition with rock and metal bands and one of our best sites is this one http://whiplash.net/ its in portuguese, but you can keep informed of what is happening in rock and heavy metal world.

I knew about his cancer for some time. I was hoping that he was going to be able to beat it. RIP RJD. You were an important part of my young adulthood. I'll miss you.

Get home from work, turn on the computer, head to combatace, get shocked!

Just a few days ago i must have watched about a dozen videos with Ronnie James Dio on youtube. Man, the memories of being a metalhead in the 80s made for a nice night. Saw him twice, in 1985 with Yngwie Malmsteen and in 1987 with Megadeth. They were great gigs and Ronnie James Dio was a hell of a frontman with an amazing voice.

I'm just curious to see if the media will give him the respect that they smother the current "artists" with.

This sucks...

In tribute, maybe I'll blast "Mob Rules" on my ipod and go trash something... like I did back in the 80's to the same song...

We search for the truth

We could die upon the tooth

But the thrill of just the chase

Is worth the pain...

We'll know for the first time

If we're evil or divine

We're the last in line!

We're the last in line!

So live for today

Tomorrow never comes

Die young, die young

Can't you see the writing in the air?

Die young, gonna die young

Someone stopped the fair

My heartfelt to the family and loved ones.

Ronnie.

May you catch the rainbow and glide it to the Valhalla of the great Rock stars in the sky. RIP Sir. :this:

Time is standing still

He gave me back my will

Oh, oh, oh, oh

Going home

I'm going home

My eyes are bleeding

And my heart is weeping

We still hope, we still hope, oh

Take me back

He gave me back my will

Oh, oh, oh, oh

Going home

I'm going home

My eyes are bleeding

And my heart is weeping

We still hope, we still hope, oh

Take me back, take me back

Back to my home, oh, oh...
