+JonathanRL Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 "Never know what him them" just got a whole new meaning ;-)
TheStig Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Looking good. A-Team Skunkworks has a skin that looks like the YF-12 (2-tone black with natural metal dorsal surfaces). That would be a sweet look for our new toy in the community.
TheStig Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I just have one quick question... What the hell can I shoot down in the Exosphere with that thing!?
+Veltro2k Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 From Wyk AIM-47 Falcon During flight tests the YF-12As set a speed record of 2,070.101 mph (3,331.505 km/h) and altitude record of 80,257.86 ft (24,462.6 m), both on 1 May 1965,[9] and demonstrated promising results with their unique weapon system. Six successful firings of the AIM-47 missiles were completed. The last one launched from the YF-12 at Mach 3.2 at an altitude of 74,000 ft (22,677 m) to a JQB-47E target drone 500 ft (152 m) off the ground.[13]
Viggen Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 This looks great, Veltro! How high up have you gotten it?
+X RAY Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 another quick skin................still need a good skin to upload with..Any takers ? Im me Ed,PM Pappy,he did all for the black ones!
Falcon161 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I could do a fictional one. Digital night camo if you want to decals would have to be done by someone else
Icarus999 Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Looks great as usual Veltro:salute:. This one's going to be a lot of fun:good:.
+Steve s Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 will there be a "What If" Bomber version too? Is not this enough as a what-if?
Squiffy Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Velto that's very good. Any chance you can tone down the canopy a little and reduce the slope of the rails and height. It's a little too "pick-up truck" and yes I know a fairing was added for more hightemp performance in the SR version. Really though, it's a little to pronounced for a mach 3 airframe. Would this cause a headache in gmax? I built a 1/48 kit from testors and read the squadron signal book religiously.
+Florian Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Ed, if you want, i could offer you to build a chute. I´m using 3ds Max 2008.

+Florian Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Would you mind to send me the source file? Is making life easier to have a good scale of the chute and get the animation working. I would erase the source file, after i´m done, if you wish.
