NATO Fighters IV+: Post-Dec2009 Update Pack # 3

-----------------------------------------------

NATO Fighters IV+: Post-Dec2009 Update Pack # 3 The French Connection (as ebruger68 calls it)

-----------------------------------------------

This package contains a third update pack for the NATO Fighters IV+ (NF4+) add-on designed for "Strike Fighters 2: Europe" (SF2E) from ThirdWire. It does several things:

1) Adds a number of new aircraft and ground objects.

2) Makes several aircraft flyable

3) Adds several new textures to existing aircraft.

4) Adds or updates over 100 weapons and guns.

5) Fixes or updates numerous other files in the

original NF4+ mod.

This update pack should be applied to SF2E/NF4+ installations that are patched to the Dec2009 or later patch level -- including Feb2010, Mar2010, May2010, or Jun2010 -- and that already have the first and second update packs applied.

If you are running SF2E at the Jun2009b patch level and do NOT intend to update to one of the later patch levels mentioned above, you should NOT apply this update pack.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Before installing this update pack, please ensure that:

- your SF2E installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level;

- the original NF4+ add-on is installed;

- the first & second update packs (or patches) are applied to your

NF4+ installation.

The four original NF4+ installation packages can be obtained from CombatAce:

http://combatace.com/files/category/407-sf-series-add-on-missions-and-campaigns/

The first & second update packs can also be had at CombatAce:

http://combatace.com/files/file/11099-nato-fighters-4-patch-post-dec-2009-patch-level/

http://combatace.com/files/file/11300-nato-fighters-iv-post-dec2009-update-pack-2/

The latest patches for Strike Fighters 2 can be downloaded from ThirdWire:

http://thirdwire.com/downloads.htm

Installation of this update is simple: copy the contents of the \To_Mod_Folder directory to your SF2E Mod Folder, overwriting as prompted.

Awesome! Thank you! Quick question though. I have SF2, SF2V and SF2E all merged, then I have Nato fighters installed. If I was to get SF2I (and EP1), and have it merged, would I have to start over, or can I install SF2I on top of my merged install, and still have NATO fighters work ok? Thanks!

Great work guys. I have noticed one small issue; the skin for the Mirage 2000 pilot’s face must be missing or something as it un-painted/completely black.

Cheers,

Dan.

Dave, are the below photos represent the updated Mirages on the update (this was what I meant by: are the aircrafts "new" model jets)? I am out of the country right now, unable to see all of the work done by the team in this NATO 4+ update #3.

The new Mirage Factory M2000, F-1's and Jags are not in there.

Dave is correct. The Mirage F-1s, SEPECAT Jaguars, and Mirage 2000s in this update are the old models that have been around for some time. All have had considerable work done to them to make them more "SF2-friendly" -- and by that I mean work beyond mere conversion to SF2 standards (e.g., adding Userlist.INIs, moving decals to the \Decals folder, etc.).

But they are in the end the old models. You can consider these overhauled versions to be placeholders until the new models are released, whenever that might be.

Thanks for this update. On the Mirage 2000 D/N, you start out in the backseat. Is this an error or is there a key I need to hit to get to the pilot seat? Also are there any plans to include the Rafale single seat version?

Again thanks!

No plans for a Raf that I know of. I haven't messed with that D/N so I am not sure. Maybe eburger68 can shed some light on this.

Mast:

See the ReadMes for the D/N model included in that aircraft's directory. You can switch seats with the "Gunsight Mode Toggle" Key (Caged mode is the back seat).

As for the Rafale, no plans to add it because it's beyond the scope of the NF4+ project as I understand it (which ends roughly around the end of the Cold War, circa 1989).
