In addition to it's long service in fleet US Navy and Marine squadrons as well as export customers, the F/A-201 Kestrel was also flown by the US Navy's aggressor squadrons. Latterly this has been of increased value as the Kestrel has been used as a visual analogue of the Chinese J-10...

Newly-arrived Parani Yak-130s on a familiarisation flight. The Yak-130 Mitten has been purchased to supplement and eventually replace the country's L-39 trainer and light attack fleet.

They will help to carry the fight against the decadent Dhimari puppet regime.

Even before the chinese civil war ended, the americans knew they will need to fly over mainland China in order to gather as many intel as possible. Daylight flights would be too much a provocation, so the USAF was tasked with finding a plane that could fly at night, fast and capable of being updated with several intel gathering equipment. USAF took its job seriously, but the existing bombers altough providing enough room for new equipment are too slow for chinese defenses, then a WW2 veteran came with an idea, why not to upgrade the existing P-61 airframes existing in USCON storage sites? The crews must be all american, but the planes will fly with Republic of China markings, soon the new EP-61W as the "new" version is to be known was flying tests over Taiwan getting ready for its incoming task.

Apart from the new antennas that tell everyone the new plane main task, the EP-61W were updated with new external fixed wingtip tanks, and several wet hardpoints to carry external tanks. Want to say thanks to AngelP for work on the existing SF2 mod, new antennas, wingtip tanks, drop tanks...

An early export customer for the Convair F/A-201 Kestrel was the IDF/AF. Naturally they were upgraded with Israeli electronics and eventually weapons also. In Israeli service the type was nicknamed 'Lavi' (Young Lion)...

What if the MiG design bureau would have not sold the blueprints for the JT-17 to China, but would have built the plane as MiG-33 Grom (Thunder) themself.
