Wrench Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 have shadows turned on in the objects ini, in the terrain folder? Like the planes [LOD001]Filename=ASR.lodDistance=200 [LOD002]Filename=ASR_lod002.lodDistance=800 [LOD003]Filename=ASR_lod003.lodDistance=8000 [shadow]CastShadow=TRUEShadowCastDist=500MaxVisibleDistance=2000 Quote
Monty CZ Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Thanks Wrench but I have that...isnt some option for material in 3DS to cast shadow? I made some quick base layout for testing and played a little bit no luck with effect editing - need smaller fire but each change of my effect causes error :-( Monty CZ 1 Quote
Wrench Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 unfortunately, I can't answer about MAX! Maybe Russo or FastCargo or ??? I like the base!! Quote
Monty CZ Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 My hangar work continues and it looks like I cant have shadow when I use transparent material Can anybody confirm that? Thank you Monty CZ 2 Quote
76.IAP-Blackbird Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Do you use transparent material only painted all over or just at the windows? Cause the shadow setting is set in the ini`s not in max Quote
Monty CZ Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 I use transparent material only on some meshes, If you are able can you check my file in 3DS? I found out that deleting meshes with transparent materiál dont do the job....it must be something else hmm I like the smell of wood, oil and engines in the morning Monty CZ Quote
Monty CZ Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 still experimenting no transparent material no open edges (STL Check says "no errors") some faces inside out (not visible from outside so I dont care) shadows there no transparent material no open edges (STL Check says "no errors") same material options, all faces unified and visible no shadows open edges, transparent material etc shadows there can anybody help me here? +Soulfreak Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Great work Monty! A lot of nice stuff not only for this scenario... Quote
daddyairplanes Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Going back and rereading this thrwad, i have to askmif you've read The War That Came Early series by Harry Turtledove. Same basic priciple (war kicks off in 38) but a somewhat different how things go. Might want to give it a look Quote
Monty CZ Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Thaks for pointing me to that title, it looks interesting. I personaly doubt that war that begins in 1938 would be that global as he writes. Germany doubled number of the tanks by the czech one when they invades france. If they fight with Czechoslovakia they would not have any tanks to fight other nations as Harry Turtledove writes. I think that it would with putsch in germany after month or so. Monty Cz Quote
