Stary turned to stone at the mere sight of four cats?

I wonder if that wings folded Growler behind the 4 Tomcats will follow them

hahaha those Cats are ours  that's what I call backfire lol

Prowler? Would be interesting. Might be a flight member?

I guess all catapults are working

LOL...I must be missing something, because I never known them not be. AFAIK, I've always had working bow and waist cats.

...oh! Oh! OH!

I spy a launch baaarrrrr

SidDogg

Yup, and a post by Silverbolt on Facebook hints at this feature, but meaning more 3D work probably for older third party mods in order for it to work, for the jet and the carrier (the last one just a speculation)

This just keeps getting better.!! :clapping:

The waves look pretty good, i would guess there is even a few different sea states.

Parking spots on carrier too! Wouldn't that Prowler need to move for the recovery configuration?

There is also a helo (maybe 2 ?) on the carrier, in the shot with the Tomcat fly over.

The terrain looks absolutely gorgeous. (I love snow)

Oh, yeah.

Hm, stormy waves are actually 3D. Wow

also in the Tomcat over carrier shot, I see some difference in waves pattern, those closer to camera are different than these further, interesting, Fubar512 WILL have something do play with :good:

Looking at the mountains on the A-7 shot, how do you think the terrain is textured? The tiles seem absent, but what about the snow and the rock? Are they mapped?

similar to IL2, format I'm bit familiar with -I guess global colormap defining types of overlaying textures (rock, snow, grass etc) transitioning one to other per that colormap (which of course could be grayscale) Also IIRC FarCry terrain editor used similar thing (did few maps for it back in the days) but of course used a lot of detail textures for close proximity to player, IIRC Chrome engine used similar way too (the first one at least) and some other titles. There are still tiling textures but not exactly the same these are now in example I don't think these would be rotating ones also transitions between types seem to be done in engine/map not on tile (good news!!!)

but that doesn't explain some sharp nice transitions between glacier ice and rock/volcanic rock ones visible in few areas on A-7 shot

edit: looking closely at new terrain shots -I have no idea in fact... looks like global hires texture

:dntknw:

Am I the only one who heard Harold Faltermeyer's stirring theme in their head when they saw that sunrise shot of the deck with birds lined up at the cats?

You can make a terrain shader that takes into account the up vector for defining which surfaces get snow or other deposit and then use vertex colors for terrain blending.

Is maybe i'm mistaken, but in the hawkeye shot bottom-left of the screen those things flying seems to be two cruise missiles - i say that by the standart missile trail effect that seems to be the case.

i also wonder how the game prices and specs are gonna get higher.

i'll not get surprised if tk releases the next shots something like this

Wonder who's doing the SimHQ Review....

Last one i've read was : the game has evolved pretty much, but the terrain still the same as 2002.

bet they'll not be able to say that on this one

the truth is that i've lost the will to play SF2 since my pc formated alone (not due to porn virus sites tho :p ) and i think i'll only play again when NA cames out !

It's too far, might be a contrast thing or transparancy, looking at the green vs rock it does not look so sharp...but it's hard to say as the shot is still from too far away...
