Secretary of Defense Ash Carter this week confirmed what had been rumored for months: The Air Force's ground attack jet, the inelegant but well-armed and well-armored A-10 Thunderbolt, nicknamed the "Warthog," will not face retirement until at least at least six years.

I have to say they built that one right.  Basically it was, "what's the biggest and baddest gun we can commission, GREAT! Now strap engines to that bastard and make it fly."  Stupid simple works every time.

Honestly I thought they caught a sale on guns ... for every gun you buy you get a free plane attachment.
