When I have fun flights, I kinda like jumping into the US jets (and Tornadoes) of the Cold War.  Not too happy with the lack of a CCIP in the @FastCargo & @viper63a F-111s so I have crafted my own.

Here are a few pictures of the end result:

It's not perfect and I don't terribly like the reticle.  But at least this lets me simulate radar bombing with CBUs and slicks.  Yes, back before the modern "smart weapon" era where it's click-point-shoot-boom.

Here's the current code that works in the F-111s' Avionics.INI and I put it at the very bottom:

Once I get something I'm 100% happy and not 80% with, hope it's okay to upload the details here for grins.  Already operationally tested this with cluster bombs and MK 82s as well as a LGB before posting here.

Thoughtfully;

@JosefK

Why would there be a problem in uploading the modification? (other than historical accuracy :biggrin: )

I doubt there'll be any (real*) objections

* imagined ones, sure :lol:

Oh man, with F-111 you can destroy half of small country. It's probably not allowed to attack countries smaller than 10000 sq km, so where is a problem? .:oops: <-- :pope:.

After a bit of research, I need to eliminate the line going down if I can.  But yeah, the reticle is real.  I just want some means to simulate radar bombing in lieu of TLAR (That Looks About Right).

Just the fact that there is a CCIP, instead of trying to bomb by guessing, which is the case with the F-111.

F-111D had a HUD and CCIP bombing mode. Get it here:

Or here: (Ignore the what if Israeli skin)

I have the F-111D and it's HUD.  So will review the code for the above which I just downloaded.

not want to be rude but what is so special about this ccip ?

No worries, see below @yakarov79!

Yup @EricJ.  If you're trying to take out say a radar site that's lit you up and blocking your path to the target, you really don't wanna be guessin... or if you want to just make one pass at the target, you want a CCIP.  Remember, SF2 doesn't simulate radar bombing nor a WSO.

oh...just asking

cause I thought it was for years already here somewhere. At least I have it for ages in F-111.

Installing the HQ Sound pack over the Menu pack may overwrite some of the menu specific music files. You can always re-install this menu pack to get the menu specific theme music back.
      Unzip the package and preview the new screens before installing them. I recommend doing to see what you're getting. If you choose to install this package, I recommend that you back up your FLIGHT, MENU, CAMPAIGNS and PILOTDATA folders in the SF2 Mod folder you're installing this package into. This mod was intended as an update to FastCargo's Super Vark Package (See link below), but it can be a standalone mod if you just want the USAF F-111s included in this pack. If you want to install both packs, FastCargo's pack must be installed first as that is the older pack.
      You can get FastCargo's pack here...
      http://combatace.com/files/file/10425-f-111-super-vark-pack-version-24/
      -------------------------------------------------------------
      What's included in this mod pack?
      -------------------------------------------------------------
      This mod includes the updated individual E/F-111A/D/E/F mod packs + other excellent contributions! I had some requests to put them all into one pack for it would be easier to download. So here they are. All the F-111s in this packs are also available for individual downloads in the following links...if you just want a certain model. The F-111D updates from dtmdragon, Lel and Fanatic Modder are only available in this mod pack.

      -------------------------------------------------------------
      I recommend that you back up your mod folder (or just the Effects, \Objects\Aircraft\F-111* folders). I just make a copy the mod folder, try the mod, if I like it, I delete the backup. If I don't, I delete the new/updated mod folder and rename the old backup/copy back to the original names to reset to my original setup.
      * To install, simply unzip and copy the contents of the "To_Mod_Folder" folder (the uncompressed "Effects and Objects" folders only) to your StrikeFighter2 mod folder and Overwrite.
      My StrikeFighter2 mod on Win97 64-bit was..(yours may be different)...

      Note: You should be able to install this mod into any SF2 series, it doesn't have to be StrikeFighter2 Europe.
      * To remove, simply delete the active "Effects and Objects" folders and replace with the back up copies you made prior to the install.
      -------------------------------------------------------------
      Add F111 SoundList
      -------------------------------------------------------------
      Lastly, Read the "Add F111 SoundList.txt" readme file on updating your your "Flight\SoundList.ini" file with the custiom F-111 sound files included in this pack.

      View File [Fictional] General Dynamics F-111A 'Early TAC'
      General Dynamics F-111A 'Early TAC' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
      This is a very simple mod of the superb F-111A by FastCargo to represent a fictional 'earlier timeline' version of the F-111A entering service in 1965 with service years restricted to 1965 to 1967 inclusive.

      BACKSTORY
      Perhaps the three technical breakthroughs that came together to make the F-111A (the swing-wing, the afterburning turbofan and solid-state devices) came together just that little bit earlier leading to the corresponding earlier drafting of SOR-183 and the resultant TFX competition thus predating McNamara and the distraction of 'commonality' and the Naval F-111B.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      Firstly, please make sure you've got the F-111 SuperVarkPack for the tanks and weapons bay mounted gun. Got it? Good!
