When I have fun flights, I kinda like jumping into the US jets (and Tornadoes) of the Cold War.  Not too happy with the lack of a CCIP in the @FastCargo & @viper63a F-111s so I have crafted my own.

Here are a few pictures of the end result:

It's not perfect and I don't terribly like the reticle.  But at least this lets me simulate radar bombing with CBUs and slicks.  Yes, back before the modern "smart weapon" era where it's click-point-shoot-boom.

Here's the current code that works in the F-111s' Avionics.INI and I put it at the very bottom:

Once I get something I'm 100% happy and not 80% with, hope it's okay to upload the details here for grins.  Already operationally tested this with cluster bombs and MK 82s as well as a LGB before posting here.

Why would there be a problem in uploading the modification? (other than historical accuracy :biggrin: )

I doubt there'll be any (real*) objections

Oh man, with F-111 you can destroy half of small country. It's probably not allowed to attack countries smaller than 10000 sq km, so where is a problem? .:oops: <-- :pope:.

After a bit of research, I need to eliminate the line going down if I can.  But yeah, the reticle is real.  I just want some means to simulate radar bombing in lieu of TLAR (That Looks About Right).

Just the fact that there is a CCIP, instead of trying to bomb by guessing, which is the case with the F-111.

I have the F-111D and it's HUD.  So will review the code for the above which I just downloaded.

Yup @EricJ.  If you're trying to take out say a radar site that's lit you up and blocking your path to the target, you really don't wanna be guessin... or if you want to just make one pass at the target, you want a CCIP.  Remember, SF2 doesn't simulate radar bombing nor a WSO.

      I recommend that you back up your mod folder (or just the Effects, \Objects\Aircraft\F-111F, and \Objects\Decals\F-111F folders). I just make a copy the mod folder, try the mod, if I like it, I delete the backup. If I don't, I delete the new/updated mod folder and rename the old backup/copy back to the original names to reset to my original setup.
      * To install, simply unzip and copy the contents of the "To_Mod_Folder" folder (the uncompressed "Effects and Objects" folders only) to your StrikeFighter2 mod folder and Overwrite.
      My StrikeFighter2 mod on Win97 64-bit was..(yours may be different)...
      C:\Users\<your_id>\Saved Games\Thirdwire\StrikeFighter2 Europe\
      Note: You should be able to install this mod into any SF2 series, it doesn't have to be StrikeFighter2 Europe.

      RAAF F-111 reskinning
       
      Born in Texas, lived in Queensland - the Pig.
       
      Here are new skins for the RAAF F-111s. The SEA camouflage skins have been repainted, mostly in accordance with LeL's SF1 F-111C. In addition to the usual fin squadron markings, the crests are also displayed. The grey skins have also been redone. All of this was done on the new templates provided by slick_cowboy, who more than lives up to his username. In addition to F-111C skins, F-111A, and F-111G skins are provided. In addition, the hypothetical RF-111A from "F-111 Super Vark Pack" has been repurposed as an RF-111C.
       
      All serials have been added. The following versions are represented:
      F-111C (Early) SEA camouflage: 28 serials including the 4 F-111A attrition replacements converted to F-111C. Squadron markings for 1SQN, 6 SQN, and blank squadron markings (which may be accessed by selecting "No. 82 Wing" in the loadout) ARDU SEA camouflage/white - A8-132 only

      F-111A SEA camouflage. 4 serials only (A8-109, 112, 113, 114). New userlist.ini with RAAF service from 1982-1984. An alternate loading screen, featuring a RAAF F-111A still fitted with short wings is also provided.

      The nose wheel door buzz numbers are missing. There is an apparent issue in the LOD file that prevents their display. This was discovered after testing.

      These can be added by altering the name of the standard squadron decals (named "raaflsqnXXX.tga" and "raafrsqnXXX.tga", and copying the non-standard markings in, or you may simply overwrite the standard markings)
       

      Installation instructions
      Remove and backup all existing skins for the F-111C(Early), F-111C(Late), and the RAAF skin for the F-111G. Copy "Objects" into your mod folder. Merge and overwrite as necessary
