yes as well as they are doing some fine tuning of both site and the mods prior to going live. not a bad idea really

do be prepared when you go to get it, last i checked it was about 15-16 GB install. thats after alot of trimming down; the Aircraft folder alone was 15 GB when they started, and the decals another dozen. its better now but still pretty damn big

Will definetly download it on my new PC when i get it then

I bet the F-100F was a primary point of interest for many people who downloaded YAP-RW when it was available. Certainly was for me!

Reading through the three active threads on the subject does clear up some confusion and questions I had about YAP-RW too.

when it goes live why not get it?

its a pretty comprehensive mod,  has a good amount that isnt available elsewhere and now with RW its available free.  the things that are still messed up may inspire new modders (or folks that have been inactive awhile) to join in

HERESY WARNING

and remember, im not even that into Vietnam stuff

I don't know if it has been live for long but today october 10, YAP is back

Lot of stuff for purchase, for quite a bit of money ...

Happily I did download Yap-Revamp v2 + drug war + flight school when they were still free (thanks to a video of SF2 "master" youtuber Devin Horner)

i think you're confusing the original YAP with YAP-RW.

The original YAP is for WOV and is still payware from YANKEE AIR PIRATE

YAP-RW is for the SF2 series and still free from YAP-RW – Yankee Air Pirate – Revamp Works (yap-revamp-works.com)

Thanks Allen, you're right. I was mislead by the fact they apparently did split the 2 websites this year. I was not aware till now

YAP are file thiefs. They take the work of others and sell them.

as has been mentioned elsewheres, the current crew of YAP_RW  isnt charging, tries hard to give credit where due and will remove stuff if you should ask them to do so

the current YAP site (not RW) does mention several prominent modders from here (including you Gepard) and also has a cute little blurb on the bottom about "many files form the internet" and "credit to those that made it, apologies if we missed you".

But the RW team works hard to play by the civilized rules of the modding game, despite their original material

This, and the owners of the original payware YAP site died years ago. I understand Gepard is hurt by the fact they monetized upon his free work, I'd also be furious about it in his place, but they're no longer with us, so it's pointless to beat a dead horse now.

IIRC the old site is still up just for history, the store shouldn't be working anymore, the RW team should have removed links to the store. The RW team is comprised of end users who had bought YAP products in the past and now are updating them to SF2 for free. So when YAP monetized upon stuff that shouldn't have been monetized in the first place, the end-users also got screwed for paying for contents coming from freeware sources.

I keep repeating myself, I think I explained several times that RW is unrelated to whatever wrongdoing YAP did in the past. I think it's time to move on. If people refer to the old SF1 version of YAP, Gepard has all the reasons to be angry at what they did. If it's about RW, Gepard can ask them to remove his works if he doesn't want them to be reshared outside of CombatACE. I see RW is pretty cautious about crediting like @daddyairplanes explained.

Apr. 17, 2023 Update - Please find, available at the link below, my previously released mods. for RoF United Ed. - this time as a convenient, consolidated package that has been updated with the latest tweaks. Do read the included "Read Me" files, where available, for more info., particularly the "READ_ME_ROF_General_Info" file that is located in the root folder of the package when unzipped. This package is provided "as is," with no active support beyond the included explanatory files. The "Consolidated Mods. New" Package contains the latest AI mod. (ver. 1.4) for RoF United, as well as mods. previously offered separately, such as the "M-S Type H Campaigning Tweak," the "PWCG modulations" files, etc.
Apr. 29, 2023 Update - Included below the link to the "Consolidated Mods. New" package is Ver. 3 of the PWCG "modulations" files (to be installed manually in the PWCG ver. 16.3.1; see directions included in the larger, consolidated package). Ver. 3 of the "modulations" files increases wind and turbulence settings, as well as provides greater chance of encountering more capable AI when flying PWCG campaigns, especially if used in conjunction with my newer AI mods. for RoF (such as ver. 1.36 or 1.4, included in the big consolidated package).
Important Note: if using the Ver. 3 PWCG "modulations" files, instead of the Ver. 2 ones included in the big consolidated package for RoF -- make sure to change settings, if you choose to change any, from within the modulations, i.e., the RofCampaignSpecific, files themselves -- otherwise, tampering with relevant settings from within the PWCG advanced menu options will automatically delete extra entries for the AI that I've included in the Ver. 3 modulations. This note does not apply to the Ver. 2 modulations since those don't contain any extra AI settings.
Feb. 6, 2024 Update - RoF AI mods. vers. 1.36 and 1.4 have been upgraded to vers. 1.37 and 1.41, respectively. The new versions have tweaked the AI's ability to follow commands more quickly and/or properly. Ver. 1.41 also contains further tweaks to safe alts. for the AI, to minimize unnecessary crashes and very low-level dogfighting. The entire consolidated package has been renamed from "Consolidated Mods New" to "Consolidated Mods New V.2" (i.e., Version 2).

      Dear All,
Today we proudly announce the release of a new, re-edited and upgraded version of the Yankee Air Pirate project known as: "YAP RW Phase One - Enhanced Edition (2025)".
We have spent more than a year and a half doing our best to correct all the issues, errors and mistakes contained in the original release.  This includes removing assets used without proper permission or those that came from unauthorized sources.  We apologize for the past. We were unaware of many of these aspects and concerns, and therefore we did not respect other's work as we should have done.
First, we would like to thank those who contributed to the project and gave us help, support, ideas or made their assets available.  We all know that without the brilliant creations of this site, YAP RW could not even exist.  So for that, I extend my sincere thanks to CombatACE for being such a great source of top quality works and talented modders.
For this release, we have paid special attention to the Credit List, doing our best to cite authors and ensure proper credit has been given.  We realize that with all the complexities and edits that have been done, it’s very possible we may have forgotten to include credits for certain works or there may be inaccuracies with our source citations.  If that is the case, please let us know and we will immediately correct it.
That being said, people should fully respect that all of the models/assets in our project cannot be used anywhere else without our direct permission, they remain exclusive to this project like John would have wanted but also allows us to better manage artist permissions so we hopefully don’t have any future concerns.
Please keep in mind that the YAP RW project is made by fans for fans. None of us were part of the original development team, and we never made a single cent out of the old payware products (plus we have no control over the old homepage and purchase options).  We do not have debts with anybody for the old assets bought by John Shelton during the YAP1/2/3 Era and are only looking forward at this point.
We legally bought all the 10 asset packs, installed them while still running WOV and then decided to challenge ourselves by trying a conversion to the SF2 engine.  We knew we were going to lose many unique features including aerial refueling, low clouds, carrier catapult positioning and more.  But we thought it was still worth the effort.  We worked a lot before releasing this version, but we know it is not perfect. We tried to correct all the errors, but there are bound to be mistakes and oversights and for now we feel satisfied with the current state.
If anyone has suggestions to make it better, well we are open to proposed fixes and improve what we can.  We have a group on Facebook, and because it is already well established we plan to continue to use this as a primary collaboration forum.  It's a private group, since we had to defend ourselves from hackers and so on, but the group is free and open to anyone who wants to join in. You are all welcome, just show us you want to support and appreciate the project and there will be no issues. Of course, we do not like denigrators, haters, detractors, generic trouble makers just like they are not welcomed here.
That's all. The new YAP RW version is free and is available for download on our new, independent homepage: www.yap-revamp-works.com, along with all the other chapters we revamped so far.  This version there are 102 missions (92 combat plus 10 training), all revamped in chronological order and in logical sequence: we decided to go back to the original idea of reconstructing the Vietnam Air War per year and therefore will cover the early period from 1954 to 1966.
We will be honored to hear your comments, suggestions or any screenshots or videos you might make.  And maybe you would be willing to contribute even more to the project.  Thank you for your collaboration and have a nice day in the skies.

My C: Drive is quite full, and I had to uninstall SF2 because the mods just took up too much space.

Now I wonder if there is a way to install mods in any other location but the C:/User-and so on?
