As EricJ mentioned and as the other posts have mentioned that project is under review for retooling due to abuse. -
Click your member icon top right corner, under your name it should show your current rank and progress to the next rank using the new system which is not personalized. It's the one showing those funny badges over our images to the left, like I have a red circle with what look a large lady bending over to put on skirt. It's really humorous but I think we can improve it.

You guys are looking at all the wrong things. This is what CA really looks like to me, this IS the pretty stuff.

@Wrench is probably the place to start, he's got all the Modders on speed dial in his 1995 Motorola flip phone. I just keep the rubbish bins empty around here. Photo of the real moneymaker below.

It's to be announced and dependent on when I have time to mess with all the new ranks and promotion settings. Right now, it's a low item on the fix list. It does need to be re-tooled but I'm still dealing with machine related stuff that takes priority. The pretty front end stuff is the window dressing, what's under the hood and getting that on strong footing is the foundation that builds everything else. If you want to help I'll gladly take your new badge ideas and images.

There's genius in this statement. The great part is that it folds into what I was thinking. The only sticky part is how many accounts exist that would automatically defeat that rule do we have and how do you weed them out? We'd almost have to dump the entire user base which would destroy our content and dis-associate it. So, making everyone sign up again can't be the solution. However, if we used this in conjunction with some of the things I was thinking it could have the impact we need. I'm not going to get everyone that abuses the system but I gotta get the lion's share. There are good people that just want to download files, I get that and I understand. But there are others that are on a mission. It's the typical one kid in class ruins it for everyone else. We'll survive.

Its not dead, it's a premature roll out that ended horribly. I'll retool and get something out. I've got too much to do at the moment to devote time there so it'll have to wait. Sad that I was too naive, won't happen again. I agree with giving to the community just not at the rate they want to take it.

I implemented a free subscription plan for everyone to use but in a matter of two days it's already been abused. Giving the public a free file and they create multiple free accounts to get more free things. Program ended today, thanks for playing. I will create a better way to do this and until then the subscriptions are back to non-free only. Sorry about that, I really did have the best intentions, unfortunately some people think differently. ::deep sigh::

You might have to clear your browser cache. I got it load and dropped a CA icon on my phone so using that loads the site without a browser, pretty neat. I'll play around with it more to see what's up, another thought is maybe there's an allow web app setting in browsers.
-
Use the Samsung Browser to open the site, it takes a second or two to grab but it will ask you.
-
On an Apple device open Safari and then open our site and it should ask you. On Android open Chrome and then open our site and it should ask you. If you're on Apple using Chrome that won't work or so the docs say. I loaded it using a Samsung phone and the Samsung Browser. The WebApp is for smaller devices so it won't work on laptops or desktops just phones and tablet devices. Good to know what works thought, so thanks.
-
Anyone tried or use the web app yet? Open the site on your phone or tablet and you should get a request to install it. If not clear your browser cache, close the browser and reload the site. Need a little makeup but overall it works well.

It's not new. I fat fingered the scotch and nerfed some of the people in that forum. Was refreshing this post for them.

It has long been a standing rule here at CombatACE that we simply do not allow political discussions on our boards. Over the past year or so we've become a little more relaxed on this policy because of the ever changing climate and events. It was considered by some a topic of discussion that we'd like to see available to those who were interested in participating. As a result we've tried a few variations where we've selectively allowed discussions to continue here in The Pub and more recently in The Arena, since removed. We feel that allowing the public access to these discussions without their ability to opt-out was in poor taste and disregarded our mission statement to provide an open and clean community for everyone to enjoy. As of this post we'd like to make the following changes and affirmations. 1. Political, religious, government leadership type discussions either in topic or reply form will not be allowed in our general community, anywhere. This is an affirmation of our mission statement concerning our general audience. Posts that are deemed to fall under these topics will be moved or removed as appropriate. 2. We have created a private discussion board for those who want to post or read the political and highly polarized discussions that our community wishes to participate in. This private forum will be by opt-in participation only. This means that if you wish to join the discussions or have access to them you must reply to this post with an acknowledgment to opt-in. We will then, as time permits, grant access to that forum on a per-member basis. We feel this arrangement will allow the best of both worlds to exist while keeping in focus our goals and objectives. We hope you understand and can appreciate the often difficult positions we can encounter in a global community like this. The political topics will be a more loosely moderated discussion board. The premise is to allow open communication and view points without the need to feel moderated. A further list of benefits and guidelines is available after joining. Reply with "Include Me" in your post. Those who do NOT want to be included do not need to do anything. By default these discussions are hidden from the general membership.

Backyard news, never seen them there.

I set the editor group aside because I was going to rework it so I don't have anywhere to put you yet but I will. Got my head somewhere else right now trying to get our backups sorted, trying to traverse multiple NAT layers is fun to put into bash. Standby, hope you've been well.
-
Got both of you, thank you. I'll get the badged sorted when I'm done with all this other fun stuff.

If you lost your Modder status during the move PM me so I can fix it. Totally my fault I lost a couple of you in the fray. E

Ouch, some drones are quite expensive and not meant to be hitting utility poles. The video quality makes me think of the old training drones we had ten years ago.
