  1. Thanks for the review Jarhead, I would like to have given it a look, but now I won't bother register... I prefer the IL-2 series for WWII anyway... Moreover in it's current highly modded form! Here's a couple of Tainan Group pilot skins I've done lately: (I agree about CFS2, though... What a blast those days!)
  2. Do not forget the overhauled AI with tactical awareness implemented and as result the realistic outcomes of dogfights!
  3. Here is a detail of the rifle, for you, SirMike... Hugault pays much attention to little historical details.... sometimes though, minor details may portrayed erroneously, like the color of the tapes on the lower lozenge fabric camo of this Alb. D.III (OAW) (should have been light blue for OAW Werke not salmon for Johannisthal Werke). In fact I think he has done his research but has been mislead by the same choice of tapes by the Vintage Aviator May's D.Va, replica...as the leading edge tapes seem to be of the correct color!
  4. Here is some more piece of info from the publisher site. The normal version of the first tome would cost 13.00 € and the de luxe one 120.00 € http://www.paquet.li/bd/catalogue/326-le-pilote-l-edelweiss-1
  5. Going to be released in January 18th... http://romain-hugault.blogspot.com/2011/11/le-pilote-ledelweiss.html
  6. I can't see the video...
  7. Searching for something else, WWI related, I accidentally bumped onto this very interesting thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/2411-the-story-of-a-german-pilot-of-wwi/ Some unique photos and documents in there...
  8. Thanks for the reply Makai, also thanks for the efforts and devotion as noted by Olham as well! I checked my books too and I still believe that the wood grain should be toned down a bit, but it's such a minority report to be ever considered as a mistake anyway...
  9. Indeed, great details there! Only the wood grain on the D.II looked a bit overdone to me... I kind of liked better the more subtle approach on the D.V series.
  10. Well in my local store, CloD's price, (boxed), is still 39.99 € I got a d/l version from GetGames. And yes Widow, there is some CloD modding around... not in the scale of old IL-2, I must admit, but things are a bit more complicated now! As a matter of fact I have started to extract hard-codded stuff to develop a skins and markings Mod, for the Jagdwaffe, as well as a pilot mod, myself. Some things are not as accurate as I was expecting them to be...
  11. About CloD: I bought CloD from Get Games for 12,49 Euros last week. The last official patch was released in Oct. 17th. It's marginally playable in my laptop, in medium settings, (it runs RoF in high settings rather smoothely),... still buggy, but has potential to get better in time, nonetheless...
  12. I don't have FSX, I was kind of impressed by the looks of those screenshots...too surreal! but CloD would be a good platform too, better actually, with ballistics and damage already included. It looks good too...even in medium settings at my laptop:

  14. To me are more like the black tulip scheme on the nose of Erich Hartmann's Bf 109 The rainbow thing you saw there is a flare's case...
  15. Impressive scheme! One, really, minor detail to notice... I think that the camo colors are a bit too dark (the mauve at least) and may be it would me more probable to be inverted for the period referred to...
  16. Here is BBloke's IL-2 Movie database; 266 films, of all genres to choose from... http://il2mdb.flightsimmachinima.com/
  17. I think Spad XIII had 400 rounds per gun... Here is a rare example of victory markings in WWI:
  18. Our German friends excel in organisation and practicality! The rigging instructions were printed on that rectangular sheet you see on the fuselage: Two more pics for Olham's enjoyment* ! Notice the metal primer chipping on the second one, Creaghorn! * If you go to WW site and choose Model Kitsets and your model of preference, you can find additional Archive Photos than the generic ones.
  19. One more for you, my friends:
  20. Yes, very nice indeed... I tried it yesterday for the first time and seemed most interesting!
  21. Sounds great! Will try ASAP... Thanks!
  22. And the other two parts:
  23. The most known similar incident known to me from WWII is the Robert Johnson - Egon Mayer, story: There is a an interesting IL-2 Movie by Mysticpuma, from early 2007, (before the mods) portraying it... This is the first part: ....
