  1. If you mean the movie carrick posted, it's made with BoB2 Wings of Victory. Here are a couple of mor movies BoB related by Barfly: The first from 2009 using the modded old IL-2... And the other with CloD...
  2. Two more CloD movies worth watching:
  3. elephant

    Swordfish

So does the modded version of IL-2... There was another one for the Taranto raid, but I couldn't find it...
  4. I would be grateful if that fish-eye lens in externals could be addressed, at last... Please!
  5. Yes, many of the things mentioned by Lima, have already been announced for P4. Others like self-shading may be limited by the core engine itself... It would have been cool if possible, though! What always bothered me in OFF was the sense of flight comparing to RoF, even so, in the P4 preview video, the flying seemed to be more fluid and realistic...
  6. What Creaghorn described was historic and IMO too, the right way to go. ie selectable, attached on the historical spots, with historical colors. RoF team decided to attach a blue steamer to the port upper wing of every Central Forces FL plane, (sinister?) and to the starboard one of every Entente FL... Also to give a Hollywood style flapping scarf to the AI aces, then sell them to you in a variation of colors with a Colt to shoot'em up and called it "personal package" (sic)! Although the may look "cool" in game, I'm opposed to the essence of this concept!
  7. Very interesting thread indeed! About the inscriptions in slang that the enemy could never understand and rudeness vs politeness, I found the exact opposite of what the main topic is about, on a German Rumpler C.IV...
  8. And the latest, IMO arcadish call on Hollywood style scarves and the non historical way streamers were finally depicted, really pissed me off! Not to mention the "personal package"... Alhough my good relations to the developing team, due to my pilot skin work, I couldn't help it and was kind of aggresive against their "commercial trick" in the RoF Forums. The AI fix of cloud blindness and RTB when hit or low at fuel was very welcome, indeed. I tried the beta Career but dropped it at once in favor of Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator. I agree with the pace RoF goes it could approach OFF planeset, in may be...10 years...
  9. Original post at 'The Aerodrome': http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/people/54741-otto-splitgerber-letter-home.html Dated: 20-12-16 considerably, after Splitgerber's first aerial victory with Jasta 12. Could it be possible to be read by our German language speakers?
  10. With Real Player there should be a little tab on the upper right corner of the video's screen , with the indication "Download this video". With JDownoader, I'm using, you just copy the URL and all the versions of the video and audio are automatically loaded. You download then the desired video or audio...
  11. I use JDownloader to download from YouTube... You can also do it with Real Player I think.
  12. I have also seen them landing like train boxcars behind the FL at the 'drome's edge... The landing 'bug' seems to be addressed in Phase4 or OFF2, if you prefer. Watch the ending sequence of the preview video, I think it's revealed, there... Don't know anything about any RTB command, though...
  13. Oh, Olham! Squadmate landings is not the strong point of both sims! The after landing disappearance in that 'ghost' aerodromes, is most frustrating in RoF! In OFF P3, squadmates cannot even land properly... Again, you are wrong about the empty skies... In Pat Wilson's Campaign both enemy and friendly flights are generated, each one with their own mission. The player can go anywhere and still encounter enemy or friendly flights conducting their missions, as in OFF, the only difference is that the most distant ones are not spawn till the player is at a certain radius from them. Anyway, OFF for immersion, RoF for the flying experience for me... Still prefer the highly modded version of old IL-2, over the graphically superb, but problematic CloD... and can't wait for OFF Phase4 to be released... A new preview video maybe?
  14. I have, played and modded myself all the above mentioned sims... I agree totally with Bullethead about CloD, still waiting for the magic patch that will enhance the code and get this thing playable! Down low it's incredible, graphically, even in mid settings in my laptop, but I'm not yet convinced at mid-higher altitudes... Anyway I consider it still beta... About RoF now... As many of you may know, I have jumped to OFF from RoF, (kind of unusual). I was missing something in RoF, but... the sense of flight it creates is still unmatched by any other sim I've flown. When the engine is on, you can feel the vibrations and I don't have a FF stick. Also the engine management is more complex... I can overheat, overcool or overrev my engine, if I screw up. In my first OFF missions I watched my fellow Albatros squadmates diving like Stukas on the enemy down low! This cannot be done in RoF! Even the AI Albatros are using a spiralling descent manoeuvre... The official Career mod is still beta, so I won't comment, but modders can make miracles, sometimes, you know Widow. Pat Wilson, coming straight from RB3D, has developed a Campaign generator, featuring things that OFF Manager still cannot do in P3... like 'fleshy' squadmates that progress and develop throughout the Campaign. (amase victories, upgrade in skill, being promoted-decorated, accordingly) It can plot and generate many many flights simultaneously, each one with it's own goal, (not necessarily related to the player's mission), only they spawn when in a certain distance from the player, to save resources. I don't find anything wrong with that, Olham, it's a feature! Lately, after my petition, has even introduced a claim system for victories... In addition with enhanced AI mods makes the RoF Campaign experience, leaning towards OFF's one. Still, however beautiful RoF's World can be, it's plain sterile comparing to OFF's one. In other words I can't wait for P4!
  15. Wellcome!
  16. Isn't it possible for them to make a download option, for you? When my copy of OFF failed to arrive from America to Greece, OBD arranged a special download option for me, after I showed them my payment receipt. I got the demo version of WvsD, but never made it work, actually! I've downloaded their new dynamic campaign beta too, but I haven't installed it yet...
  17. FITS, yes indeed!
  18. Too much artistic licence...
  19. I know Widow, but in the known cases you've named there was a purpose for the ramming! In the film the German seems almost ready to conduct an emergency landing...at the time of ramming. I didn't claim it never happened, I just couldn't see the purpose in the film story... (except from artistic licence, of course)...
  20. I did now you've pointed that out... Too tiny letters to actually read them in the manager screens... I should change my glasses.
  21. Thanks, a million Winder! You are creating an outstanding work of art Cudos to the whole OBD Team!
  22. Never heard of that, Tamper...(use of Cliffs of Dover). I have seen the film too, some aerial sceenes look great but, I found many "holes" in the script-story itself... Why to collide with the German in the first place and risk his life? Like where he was going to go, in that state, if as he seemingly believed, they were over Britain's soil? Out of vengeance for his friend? (I also don't believe that such a collision with wing break would have been survivable, anyway!) Pretty dumb!
