I'd be curious as to what the exact failure was...it couldn't have just been losing flight controls. That kind of violent slewing is not a characteristic of frozen flight controls...mainly because if it was, differential thrust (especially on that configuration of aircraft) would not be enough to overcome the moment generated by the slewing controls. If I had to take a guess, I'd say either the rudder or ailerons were going lock to lock (a problem with a damper) and the pilot was having to use the other control to dampen the oscillation as much as he could. Nice job getting it on the ground! FC

You need 3ds MAX 2009, 32-bit version. You can use older versions, but they won't take advantage of the newest TW features. http://usa.autodesk.com/3ds-max/ VR

I find it interesting (the fascination, not the wedding) on a social analysis level. Like someone else mentioned, we got away from a feudal style social system/government long ago, yet still find the trappings of it interesting. I often have conversations about this with my wife (Canadian) and the idea of having a head of state (the Queen) and the head of government (the PM). Such a concept is odd to Americans because the head of state and government is the same (the POTUS). But even in the US, we have our own fascinations...the Kennedys for instance. But yes, she is hot. As good as the Tu-22M3 looks...it was released with a less than optimal data.ini. The whole data.ini needs a detail scrub to get it right or at least in line with the other aircraft in the SF series. FC

Honestly, I played both for what they were and didn't have a favorite in that respect. I didn't play Freespace 2 (or the original Freespace) because I had grown tired of the space sim genre at the time (didn't feel there was anything new after Independence War). Boy I missed out!!!! Freespace 2 (and subsequent mods) rock! FC

Lexx, Your method is old and will affect every aircraft. If he doesn't want to screw up his other aircraft, he needs a different method. Pappa Goat, please read this thread: http://combatace.com/topic/32148-something-new-has-been-added/ It will tell you how to do it for the first generation of sims (SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI). You must be running the Oct 08 version of the sim to get it to work though, earlier patch versions will not work. VF

Del's T-6 model is superb. I honest wish I had his skills in making a decent cockpit for the T-38...the stand-in F-5A cockpit just isn't the same. Nice work.

Right. Basically, unless the model has bump mapping enabled when the LOD is created, there is no way to have real bump mapping for LODs. FC

I'm annoyed that NY and DC got a shuttle...with CA and FL getting one, that means there are no Shuttles anywhere close to the center of the country. Couldn't have at least the NY shuttle gone somewhere else, considering NY and DC are damn near in spitting distance of each other. FC

Skatezilla, I have MAX models setup for the TW sims for the Super Hornet and F-35C that are freely available (99% sure the original owners wouldn't mind with proper credit). I have an F-14 available as well, but I need to get permission from Sony to release it to you (it's a MF product). I also have an A-6, A-7, S-60 and EA-6B that were converted from Google Sketchup. They have not been setup to be in the TW sims, so might take some work. They would all be in Max 2009 format...could you use these? FC

Hey gents, Just picked up this book while on a layover: The Battle for the Falklands Looks like a 1st Edition (North America) in hardback...found it at the Goodwill near the hotel that I have a layover at. Anyone read this book? I've been reading reviews about it, seems fairly accurate, if one-sided, in a dry, historical way. Opinions? (On the book, not the conflict) FC
