Everyone ignore Tipari...he's annoying, but harmless... FC -
I believe there already is a parameter for Max and Min Altitude...now, I don't know if it causes movement or not... FC

That's decal bleed. Use the alternate LOD included in the Super Hornet download to get rid of the bleed issue...but your frame rates may suffer. (Instead of FA-18E.LOD, use FA-18Ed.LOD). FC -
She was fired because she is a piss-poor leader. Period. I've known plenty of commanders where every other word they said had something to do with some sort of bodily function. But, they were good LEADERS, respected and liked by their subordinates. And I've known commanders who never said a foul word...and were lucky they weren't lynched. So spare me your 'brown shoe' story days...it doesn't apply in this case. FC

opening canopies
FastCargo replied to landrover's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I have to say, does no one play with the Options panel anymore? Right in that area of the sim is a Controls panel...click on that and it shows the keylist for every function, and it's user changeable. After the video options, that's the first thing I do with every game (shooter, sim, RTS, etc) I play is customize my controls...seems like it would be natural. FC -
opening canopies

And how did you try them? Not all aircraft use the same keys to animate the canopies. FC -

Rudder pedals or joystick
FastCargo replied to Von Paulus's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well, I think partially it depends on what you are used to. But, for flight controls the less 'blending' you have to do yourself per control, the more precise you can be in each axis. As an example, say you're trying to fly in a slip...so you have put the stick to the left, while twisting it to the right. Imagine how unnatural that would feel on your wrist, vs using a rudder pedal. FC -

Yes...where did you install Wings Over Vietnam? FC -
Yes and no. Yes, they've had the bad luck to be caught in 2 severe earthquake zones in a short amount of time. But, from what I can tell, they are all still alive and physically well. Yes, they'll need time to mentally get over this...but at least they all have the option to do so...many people in Haiti and Chile will never have that. FC

HELP NEEDED
FastCargo replied to Cheddar's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sounds like a disc authentication error. Goto thirdwire.com, download the Oct 08 patch for Wings Over Vietnam, ( http://www.thirdwire.net/files/dl/WOV_Update_Oct2008b.exe ) run the patch, then try starting the game again. The patch will remove the CD-ROM checking requirement, as well as update your game. FC -
I can tell you that. Yes, there is an Arnold Hall Theater at the USAF Academy. It's quite possible he performed there in 1985. FC

A batch file would work...but that's pretty specific. FC -
I would tend to agree except in the following: Unlike a fetus (or for that matter, stem cells) where there is only the possibility to save other lives through abortion, a person who is harvested as a capital punishment case is capable of saving other lives immediately. Sure there is...never said there wasn't. But, these cases are relatively rare, and so can be addressed on that individual basis. Does not mean the law is invalid. This to me is a fallacy. There are plenty of agencies out there (non-profits, charities, etc) that will happily accept babies to be adopted. Heck, you can even leave a baby at a police station or fire station. Getting babies adopted usually isn't the issue...it's getting older children adopted that's tough. This idea that there aren't any options other than welfare for unexpected or unwanted babies is untrue. And besides...there is no 'forcing' them to have the kid...again, the law I proposed does not prohibit abortions...merely the State funding such. Nothing that says she couldn't go to a private or charity practice to get a safe abortion. FC

Only with a LOT of work. FC -
Personally, I don't think the State (generic government term) should be involved in abortion issues...period. The State should not restrict your choice to continue with a pregnancy or not. But, the State will not help you abort it either. No State funding for clinics, doctors, regulation, etc, that has anything to do with abortion. Any doctor/clinic who receives State funding will not be allowed to perform abortions. You want the responsibility of a choice? You live with the consequences. FC PS I do find it ironic that the folks who tend to push for abortion rights also tend to object to the death penalty for capital crimes. Seems to me an odd contrast...allow terminations for beings who for the majority of cases have done nothing wrong except to exist, vs folks who have damaged society, harmed others deliberately, and do nothing but take up oxygen and resources (unless they become involuntary organ donors....).
