				Mirage F-1C-200
Centurion-1 replied to ludo.m54's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
True! As easy as modding is in this game, making a complete new aircraft from start to finish is no cakewalk. What you are seeing here though is pretty damn far along, but it will take some tweaking still before it's ready for public release. Also, finding general information about aircraft is easy - finding specific information required to make the avionics can be a real P.I.T.A. -

Ok, thanks Crusader! You don't happen to know anything about the RWR systems these birds deployed? In-game picture. Since I don't know what's supposed to be written on the piece of paper in the holder below the HUD I decided to put a nicer placeholder than a blank sheet there -

FM is being worked upon too, but can't say what the status is right now. Yeah thanks Brain, I was just going to fix the mapping on some small parts but I kinda got excited. Anyways, your basis is a huge help, without it don't think I'd have done it. Also, a cookie for anyone who can tell me what the difference is between these two radar displays, do they denote different radars entirely or just newver/older CRT unit? -

Working on updating the cockpit by Brain32 and the Mirage Factory (which I think never got released, atleast not for SF2) to modern standards, also trying to make it as realistic as possible. So far so good, and what's best is that most INI work is done already! -

Really nice modeling work there. Looks almost done to my untrained eye! -

That's actually a pretty neat little plane! Looking forward to it! -
Yeah, the E-2C is pretty high-tech.. A C-47 dakota outfitted for maritime patrol/search might be more like it. I like the idea of aircraft destined for scrapping ending up in the hand of mercs (like the F-8, early A-4s, F-105 et cetera). I admit in my current 1979 setup the mercs might have too good aircraft, but on the other hand blowing completely inferior planes out of the sky is not fun either. Want to post your campaign data file? Mainly for the US aircraft list

Yeah, it's pretty recent. I'm having a blast with Joint Effort too, but I've edited it some to give the mercs more of an edge.. Also did some simple skins to really get that merc feeling: Though playing as a merc by using the camp editor I find the campaign ending in defeat rather abruptly saying that the opposing force have achieved their strategic objectives.. don't know what that is about..

				You know what's funny?
Centurion-1 replied to malibu43's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It's strange isn't it how aviation madness infects some of us so bad I certainly don't have any of it from any relatives, there is a strong maritime tradition in my family (father, and grandfathers on both sides) and ironically I ended up there too, but aviation has always been an obsession of mine (and well military stuff in general). I loved the scale models when I was a kid, and the early flight sims! I was born in 1986, and growing up in southern Finland it was always a treat to see Drakens (the double delta was easy to spot) and Hawks buzzing over the archipelago at pretty low altitude and then later F/A-18s. I was pretty young when Finland decided to buy Hornets in 1995, I remember going to Turku Air Show and seeing the Blue Angels perform. Man that was awesome! Also Panavia Tornado low-level passes.. I didn't have a PC before I was 12 which my father generously bought for me (no doubt hoping to make me some programmer genius that becomes a billionaire ) and that started me off on the PC Top-Gun (which was great!!), Digital Integrations HIND! as well as Jane's ATF. I loved the games, and after a hiatus in the early 2000s I have now returned to military simming via IL2 to SF2. SF2 really nails the "fun factor" while being solidly set in the real world as opposed to arcade sims. And since I happen to have a degree in 3d graphics and game development that I don't have any professional use for, I'm glad to aid this awesome community with whatever I can give. My only lament would be the lack of multiplayer, just LAN co-op would do it for me.. -
I just bought this DLC along with the two F-4 skin packs, TK should market more on the sales page as I only realized what awesome schemes were included after browsing his Facebook page. Great for merc skins! Now if there only was some skin pack like this for the Crusader* *OT: Was the crusader at any time painted in some experimental camo schemes or was it always overall grey?

I don't actually think there is one. I've been thinking about making one when I consider myself proficient enough about it. But then again, there are a lot of good cockpit makers here by now who could equally well write one, or better yet a community effort could be made.. See my intrument repository thread..
