I eventually went the same route as you. My laptop could not run the sim after the last year of patches, and my home desktop was slowed to a crawl as well. So I too went out and invested in a fully loaded ASUS G73. It has replaced my desktop and other laptop. And yes, just to run the TW sims. If TK doesn't believe he has a hard-core following, then he's missing a lot. It's this group that has kept his sims alive. -S

I ran TW Series 1 for years on my laptop without a dedicated vid card with very good results. Even SF2 ran decent enough until the last years graphics patches. So that makes me a fool? You are not understanding the process. I don't think it will patch itself, but instead go out and tell you that a newer version is available and ask permission to install, just like most programs now. Thanks to the good patch testers here, I'll hold off and wait for the next patch release. -S

I see some differences. No gun in that last shot. And the pods look better in that color. -Jeff

Is this the only way to buy it? I haven't seen a boxed version in any store. I'm interested, but not through Steam.

Spent Saturday down in Oklahoma, flying formation with a P-51 Mustang and a pair of RV-4s. Here are a few from the day: My buddy Dave and his RV-4 over Alva. Bob Baker and his long time friend Max in formation over their home town. The star of the day, "Little Rebel"

Hmm, I'm not really liking what I'm reading about points system and AI. In order to get my squadron more experience, I'll often have them attack the primary target, while I provide SEAD for them, or mop up any targets of opportunity. Although not getting promoted at an unrealistic rate is nice. We'll see... -S

Nice catches Beach. I like that they went to the high-vis red/orange, vs. white over blue. Every once in a while, I'll get to see one in primer green, when Beech test flies them prior to painting. The AT-6s are even cooler.

That link/website tried to infect my computer with spyware and/or a virus.

The only thing good about those movies, was seeing the various aircraft. Israeli Air Force F-4s, F-16s and Kfirs. Then the warbirds later on in the series.
