TEXTURE_V moves the texture on the mesh without moving the mesh. A good example is an attitude indicator. You have a mesh that is the shape of the indicator you want (a ball or something like that) and the TEXTURE_V will move the texture for pitch in the game. The value 0.0 to 1.0 is in effect a percentage of the texture that's moved. So 0.0 is the texture unmoved. 1.0 is the texture moved up by its entire length (so it won't look any different) -1.0 is the texture moved down. For example if the centre of the texture is in the centre of the mesh and it moves up by 0.5, then the centre of the texture will now be at the top of the mesh. Dels

We're planning to release the 3d model first so everyone can have a play while I work on the cockpit. Dels

@Dave, yes I have seen those pics, but lets face it: The Black Jet should be Black. Here are some daytime shots. Almost all aircraft have individual bay door art Now you see them, now you don't... Intake bypass doors and brake chute are animated Intake grids are modelled Dels

I had a crack at this a while ago and the conclusion I came to was that while the SymbolType was listed, it could not be used functionally as you have discovered. It's bad news, I know. Sorry. Dels

Standby for daytime shots, I didn't want to launch straight into them as it didn't fly by day. Dels

Wow, talk about taking the jam out of my donut! It's a completely new 3d model. But I guess the differences may only be subtle unless you know the current one well. Dels

No, I do have the original Max files. The problem is that it would take a bit of work to bring it up to the standards of TMF Vipers. I'm happy to do it but as I have a few projects on at the moment it might be a little while. If TMF is free it would probably be easier (and quicker) to modify their Vipers. Not sure of their workload though. All that being said, if it was just a small list of relatively easy changes I could probably squeeze it in after my current project. Dels

Too busy with my current (secrect) project.

I haven't got the new Vipers yet, but it looks to me like the Course needle and CDI bar don't give you the expected information. Ideally, the Course needle should always point in the direction of the flight planned track. So the CDI bar will give you deviation information from that track. From your pictures it looks like the bearing pointer (i.e. bearing to the next waypoint) is the small triangle just outside the compass rose. If you post the relevant sections from the _COCKPIT.ini I could have a look at them. Dels

Yeah, I plan to update all my models in the future. Dels

Hi all, I attached a file at the bottom of this topic with a new .lod and .tga for the T-6A so that the canopy glass has reflection. Regards Dels
-
Hey everyone, Here's an updated .lod and .tga for the T-6 which gives the canopy glass some reflection. Dels T-6A.7z

Thanks guys, that did the trick. @Squid, I'll upload the new T-6 lod later. Dels

Hey ravenclaw, what values do you use in Max? I remember someone (I think it was you) posting a screen shot of max with their settings a little while ago but I can't seem to find it. Dels

I'll look into it.

I have no idea. Anyone?

I can only speak for myself, but I agree this sim is heading (or has already headed) for its demise. Following the release of the SF2 versions of the SF1 games, I bought EXP1 for the P-51 and Meteor and I bought EXP2 for the mission editor. I have bought only 3 DLC's and I am still yet to buy SF2NA. Why? Quite simply, I don't have the time to stuff around continuously updating and adapting my modded installs while still modding. It has taken me quite a while to complete my last few projects mainly because I haven't as much time as I used to. But I can also see my interest in this series slowly waning. Unless the SF2NA problems are fixed I will not buy it. And in the absence of other motivation, updating my C-130's will be my last project. Dels

It's an antenna for the Station Keeping Equipment (SKE). It's used to fly formation in zero visibility. Here's a link: AN/APN-243 Dels

I can always modify the antenna if you need...
-
Yes of course you can.
-
I have put the SKE antenna on my KC-130T. Is that the one you're talking about? KC-130T You could always use that .LOD and remove the refuel pods in the usual way... Dels

As Fubar said, I'm guessing TK put SF2:NA up on the product page to show everyone progress shots, but also to let everyone know the new system specs required to run it. No doubt he's hoping to get all the SF1 and SF2 users to buy it and I think there's still a large percentage that are still on XP. If you give people time to upgrade, you can avoid the daggers that WILL be thrown when it's released. Dels
