  1. Aerodynamically, roll is the secondary effect of yaw due to the airflow over the outside wing moving faster than the inside wing. As airspeed increases, so does lift, hence the outside wing will rise causing a roll in the direction of yaw. So, the sim is correctly modelled according to the real world. Naturally you can adjust the severity of this with the _DATA.ini values. Dels
  2. Thank you to everyone for your help but I AM SUCH AN IDIOT! I was making all my changes to the Squadronlist.ini in the Flight folder and I didn't transfer it to the PilotData folder. It's all working fine now. In summary, to add a new squadron and have it selectable in the loadout screen: 1. Add the squadron to the Squadronlist.ini and copy this file to your PilotData folder. 2. Add the Squadron="Name" (where "Name" is the name from the Squadronlist.ini) to the applicable TextureSet.ini. 2. Add the entry below to the applicable Decals.ini: [DecalXXX] MeshName=flap_inner_left DecalLevel=1 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat= Position=0.0,0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=0.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 That is all. 3. Ok. I have narrowed it down to the Squadronlist.ini. I have been experimenting: By changing the TextureSet.ini file's nation and squadron to USAF and 4TFS it shows up correctly on the loadout screen. (So it's not the TextureSet.ini or Decals.ini etc.) So then I changed the squadron back to 3JASDF (nation still USAF and changed the Squadronlist.ini accordingly) and now it displays "None", with the dropdown box still available but the new squadron's name isn't there. So then I changed the squadron to 3SQ with the nation as JAPAN (with appropriate changes also in the Squadronlist.ini) and we're back to a greyed out "None". This is seriously doing my head in.
  4. Yes, that's what I thought at first. But I have spent the last 2 days checking and re-checking that. The fact that you're not having any troubles leads me to beilieve that I must have missed something, but I'll keep looking. Dels
  5. I've also found that the tractor beams can be caused by a reverse face, usually joined by the same verticies as FC mentioned above. Dels
  6. Thanks for the suggestions guys, but it still doesn't seem to be working. For every other aircraft I have done this to, all I had to do was: 1. Make a new entry in the SQUADRONLIST.ini 2. Make sure that the TextureSet.ini had the correct squadron name, and 3. Add this to the Decals.ini (replacing the XXX with the correct number): [DecalXXX] MeshName=flap_inner_left DecalLevel=1 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat= Position=0.0,0.0 Rotation=0.0 Scale=0.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 That is all. All those aircraft are working, it's just this one that's not. What I have noticed is that all the main nations seem to work but new ones don't. I tried this with the JAS39/Sweden and had the same result: "None" in dark grey on the loadout screen. I was just wondering if the nation had to be activated or something like that. For example, if you bought the DLC JASDF F-4s this would work and mine's not working because I haven't got that DLC. Dels
  7. Thanks for the reply, but what exactly do you mean by this: Do you mean that one of the decals in the decal folder has to be called out by a level 1 entry in the Decals.ini? Dels
  8. I'm a bit stumped. I am trying to get some additional squadron names to display on the loadout screen for the F-2A. I have added a few extra squadrons to the Squadronlist.ini (the default already includes 8 Squadron JASDF). Anyway, the TextureSet.ini files are correct and I have made sure that there's a fake DecalLevel=1 entry in the Decals.ini but the squadron names still won't show. Not even the default 8 Squadron will show. I was wondering is there a requirement to activate a nation or something like that? Dels
  9. That's a pretty good eye. The model (including the always dreaded texture mapping) is in fact 100% complete. I have started in-game testing while ace888 works on the skin. Dels
  10. Sorry it's been a while, but here's some close up pics.
  11. Don't forget to get the new .LOD with canopy reflection enabled available here: http://combatace.com/topic/73842-more-canopy-reflection-updates/?do=findComment&comment=581518 Dels
  12. I remember having this problem with my PC-9A cockpit. In the end it was that the cockpit position in the _Cockpit.ini file was too low for the sim to allow while the aircraft was on the ground. Changing the position may not affect the view of the aircraft from within the cockpit depending on the severity of the reposition once airborne. Dels
  13. Hi guys, I'm only working on the F-2A. I hadn't considered a 2-seater, but if I did it would have to wait until I've finished my other projects. Dels
  14. Thanks guys, it's great to see there's so much interest in this aircraft. Gives me great motivation! The launcher I have made is based on the reference materials I have got and various pics on the net. Check out this link: http://www.f-16.net/attachments/14424.jpg No worries mate. No offence taken at all. I'm glad to have all the help and suggestions I can get. Dels
  15. After having a long hard look at my old model I decided it wasn't good enough for today's standards. So I have re-made it completely from scratch. Not one mesh remains from the original model and it now weighs in at just over 20000 polys. Current progress is: The model is finished with the mapping 75% complete. Once that's done, ace888 will work on the skin while I do the .ini work. Dels
  16. Yeah, you'll have to limit the length/diameter to avoid that, but it still won't be the 100% solution you're after. Unfortunately, I think your request may be too specific based on the way the game loads weapons. Dels
  17. As a community, we can make it happen. We have all the aircraft/ships/ground objects, almost all the terrain and we have a mission editor. Eraser started this a while ago. I think it's time to revive the project. Dels
  18. Let's face it. DCS or FSX or JT or whatever will NEVER (and I say that with 100% confidence) have the range of combat aircraft/weapons/ships etc. we have here in SF2. The terrain may be 10 years old and we may not have AAR or brake chutes or a slewable A/G radar and TV/laser screens but I'm ok with that. At least I can fly and blow up what I want, where I want and when I want. Dels
  19. I'm on that one...update soon. Dels
  20. I agree, we can decide on a definitive patch level and will be able to work with what we've got. There'll be no more bitching about what we want changed or added because it ain't gonna happen and I'm sure we'll all be happy to live with it. Dels
  21. Yes for XWA, I play it all the time. Not sure about XvT. Head over to http://www.xwaupgrade.com, the forums have all the info on how to get it working in Win 7 with widescreen. And they've just released a complete package for all the upgraded ships etc. Dels
