  2. Still making progress: RAAF C-130E EC-130H Compass Call I'll be uploading some more pics soon. Dels
  3. Sorry for the delay in my reply as I have been flat out with work/family. I had to use the method I described above with the F-2A Viper Zero. I used the F-16's cockpit but added the forward canopy frame via an external model mesh. WEhile my mesh was part of the F-2A external model, this would also work with a fake pilot mesh. As I mentioned, the main issue is the clipping distances. Regards Dels
  4. Hi Steve, If you mean adding a mesh to the cockpit model then, no. You can't use the fake pilot method. However, you can add a mesh to the external model using the fake pilot method which can be visible from inside the cockpit but depending on how close it is to the pilot's POV it may be clipped. Regards Dels
  5. If they're just stock C-130Js then it's just a new skin which will be easy for anyone to make once I've uploaded the photoshop templates. Dels
  6. Absolutely! Aiming them effectively is the only issue... Dels
  7. Assembly line keeps rolling... AC-130U: Dels
  8. The Euro 1 is the next skin on my list.
  9. Another update... My Fuselage template .psd got corrupted which set me back a couple of days, but the good news is that I regularly back up! Here's the latest: KC-130J USMC: C-130H3 USAF: C-130H2 36SQN RAAF: Dels
  10. Another update... Have just finished all the skins for the C-130J variants (C-130J, C-130J-30, KC-130J, MC-130J and AC-130J). Still testing, but the release is getting closer and closer. Here's some game shots of the AC-130J. The AC-130J is armed with a 30mm Bushmaster, 105mm Howitzer, Outer pylons for up to 8 Hellfires/SDBs and the Gunslinger Launcher on the ramp holding 10 AGM-176 Griffin A's. The AGM-176 is a brand new model I've made. Dels
  11. Yes, this is a problem that will soon be rectified with my Herc upgrade. Dels
  12. Yes, yes...I'm getting there! There will be a production C-130A as well as the Roman nose version and the AC-130A as per: http://combatace.com/topic/83752-c-130-upgrade-project/page-1?do=findComment&comment=673268 Dels
  13. Here's the model list from page 1 of this topic: Dels
  14. More progress. Just finished the bump and spec maps. Bump map is currently at 2% opacity, what do you think? (I'll post some pics of the spec map results when I've got the early unpainted birds ready) Dels
  15. Averages 25-30k depending on the antennas etc. Dels
  16. Still chipping away at it. Recently I've been working on an A-22 Cargo Container for CDS. Here's some pics: "In live, stick of 12..." "Green light!" Dels
  17. The map mesh would have to have a helper mesh that is set up as a compass. So this mesh would rotate like the compass on a HSI but you can't see it. The map mesh would be attached to this helper mesh so it would rotate with it. To disable it, you would just need to have a look through the _cockpit.ini and find something that would be a compass and delete those entries. You could use the LOD viewer to find the name of the mesh or you could use trial and error. Dels P.S. All this aside, pilots use heading or track up,north up is for navigators...which one are you?
  18. For a rotating gun, it needs to be pointed forward in the 3d model. This seems weird, but it's set up the same way as tanks and ships. You will need to figure out which mesh has the correct pivot and use that in the _data.ini. This will usually be the main part of the gun which is pointing forward when you look at it in the LOD viewer. Once you've figured this out then you set up the yaw limits for the rear arc of the aircraft. I haven't got my SF2 computer with me at the moment to check, but if you have a look at the B-52s I made it might steer you in the right direction. Dels
  19. Eventually yes, but there isn't any at this stage.
  20. I like to minimise the amount of doubling up.
  21. Refuel probe. Selectable from the loadout screen:
  22. I can assure you I won't miss details like that with the earlier versions! Dels
  23. Hi everyone. I've been able to make some progress and here are the first in game shots of the updated C-130. Dels
  24. Overall, the X-Wing model looks pretty good. It could use more details and smoothing in some places, and less detail in others. However, like whiteknight and Wrench said, it's only the beginning. There's no mapping, no skin, no animation and no .inis so you're looking at a lot of work to bring it into the game. Plus, there's the absolute joy of working with someone else's model. Dels
