Anyone remember an old movie serial back in the 30's called Ace Drummond ? I think it was produced/based on a cartoon Eddie Rickenbacker did. Anyway it starts off showing images of Eddie's cartoon strip .... and then gets into the serious stuff with some very amusing wooden acting (THE MAN Ace Drummond)) and outrageous over-acting (comical sidekick) as they thwart evil designs from Fu Man Chu characters. And there's a cute chick and an aviator helmet wearing little boy for added dramatics ! Highly entertaining and amusing. Lot's of shots of 20's/30's style biplanes ! So .... how about a comic strip video !

The Dolphin would be great. But the Snipe was only in active service for a few months before the war ended. So I don't think it's a priority for the OFF team (sorry widowmaker). But it did have that lovely piece of British mechanical precision, the Bentley Rotary No 2, 230hp mmmmmmmmm {dribble}. Before trackir (back in the dark ages) I mapped all eye movements (up/down/in/out/left/right) to my four arrow and home/end keys and used that in conjunction with the hat switch on smooth scroll. I got by ok although Unc swore I resembled a one-armed paper hanger while doing so. He was probably right. And I also used padlock. However, since I've had trackir, and become enlightened, I still use padlock because it's a great effect .... like a smooth panning camera shot. I like it. It's great.

The only quirk with the rof vids I've seen to date is they kinda look cartoonish to me. That's the only way I can explain it .... but still very nice. The sun reflection and shadow effect is excellent. What is disappointing in the beta testers review is there's nothing about SP campaign except for a daft excuse as to why not .... 'oh my system crashed". Very odd. Still, it's the unsaid words that talk louder And whilst on the subject, being forced online to play SP shows where the rof devs real allegiance is. Until they change that tactic and provide evidence of at least some kind of a decent dynamic SP campaign (not just a series of missions as I suspect) they'll lose sales from the SP players. But I don't expect their attitude to change. It's pretty evident it was always designed for the online ace dudes. Too bad.

shft+t toggles the TAC. Cycle through the TAC using "T" until just aircraft are shown. TAB will highlight any EA or "unknowns" on the TAC .... then hit the padlock key. Spinning planes ? Stick central, opposite rudder.

Sorry to bore you gentlemen with a revised edition of "Sky Riders" but I felt the original was rendered too dark by youtube when compared to the original (a common trait of youtube it seems ... to me anyway .... perhaps it's my peepers !). Some detail was missed or hard to see especially the new tracer effects which demand attention. And I was a little disappointed they weren't that visible in the first youtube offering. So here's the brighter version. I hope you can see the difference ....

Don't wanna burst your bubble but I don't think so Unc. There is a timeframe, albeit small, in Campaign in which she appears. Why would the devs create a killer and not let it loose in Campaign ?

I'm pretty sure everyone experiences all that has been described unless they have a PC that really kicks bottom ! The low FPS around airfields was thought to be caused by static aircraft models. But I'd say it's far more complicated than that. It'd be great if the devs could check it out in detail but .... my gosh the time ... where does one find the time ! At least you know it's not your PC. I just accept it now. But there was a time when I was a young man with a glint in his eye and a ready smile for a comely maiden when I thought ..... "what the #$%& is going on here !" Not anymore.
